Evolution of an Incubus

This probably going to be a trash book like all my other books so please don’t bother reading. The updates will be sporadic at best. Now if you do decide to read, I feel sorry for you. If you don’t, you made a good choice.

Chapter 15

Sol had reached out with all of his senses to try and find Sylvia. Sadly, this didn't come up with any good results. He had a large range where he could sense any magical or non-magical creature. He didn't sense Sylvia within his vicinity but at least the king had narrowed to down to the castle.

However, something did happen, and it was not for the benefit of Sol.

The king and all of the royals felt this weird sensation of someone looking at them. It was not like all the people in the hall but like someone had just entered your personal bubble to an extent of nose on nose.

The king finished his speech early because of this crazy feeling. he instantly looked down the line of his daughters and saw that one other had sensed it. This was the 3rd princess. Last born from the king at only 13 years old. But to everyone's surprise, she had surpassed all of her fellow sisters and brothers in level and magical ability.

For humans, it was common to have the ability to sense magic but very few people could harness it. Formations like the lock on the door were basic and only needed the person to have some portion of magic power or mana. No one knows where, when, or how humans were able to possess magic. Most people theorized that they got it from demons but that touched on dark topics for them so humans never really talked about it.

Either way, when someone gained the ability to harness the power inside them, one of two things happened. Firstly, they could become a sage, a wizard to the king, or something like that. This was the case if they lost the ability to reproduce which happened if you were human and possessed some type of magic that was overpowered or extremely rare and useful.

The other option, and more common, was for that person and their family to become either nobility or completely start a new kingdom as the king. Magic was so valued that the people who possessed some of it would be greatly valued in society no matter which path they chose. For this reason, incest is not uncommon between nobles or other magical families. It was one of the few ways to continue the bloodline of your magic without the chance of it being tainted by others.

The king and his family all had magical abilities. The king himself was a Fire user. The Queen: Water. Everyone was amazed they got along with each other and rarely had arguments. The king's first son had control over water. He was a very excited fellow, always jumping off the walls, The first daughter had control over fire, and boy oh boy was she a dominator. The second son was an Earth user. He was more on the laid back side The second daughter was a Wind user. She was an intelligent one. The last two children had unique magical abilities but were not too overpowered to no be able to have children. The first son, surprising enough, had healing abilities. It was not an uncommon ability but was mostly found in women. Because of this, the King and Queen nurtured him extremely well, if not better than the crown prince. And lastly, the third daughter. She had the ability to control animals.

Now I know what you might be thinking. 'Oh, she is such a sweetheart!! imagine the bird scenes!' But you all thought WRONG. She was probably the most sadistic person the world had ever seen. She never used her animals for good unless they were in public, In public, she was a fairy. But once she entered her house, everything changed.

Anyways, she had used her power and gained levels like no one business and became proficient in her magic quicker than everyone else in her family except her father. She never cared for the animals she controlled but started to notice that her XP level was slowing down. She thought it was just because of her leveling so she ignored it when it started. Little did she know, the problem was Sol was devouring the lifespans of them animals that she had been controlling.

After she saw her father look at her, she instantly sent out a pet snake that she always had with her. She had pinpointed where its feeling was coming from and the snake sped toward the source, towards Sol.

People jumped out of the way as they saw this huge snake barreling toward them. But when it passed, they calmed down and started to watch the snake.

It was a long way down the hall so it took a little while for the snake reach Sol but when it did, it pulled up and did the dead rase thing that snakes do.

"Come with me human." The snake said.

'But I don't want to." Sol responded.

"Wait ... YOU CAN UNDERSTAND ME?!?!?! I CAN UNDERSTAND YOU!!!! WHAT IS GOING ON?' It asked.

Everyone was confused at what they were hearing. It was a giant snake doing what snakes do and a really good looking kid seemingly responding to it. Then, the snake seemed taken aback when Sol responded in just as weird slither sounds.

"I think it is because I have Primal Languages skill," Sol said.

When the snake heard this, it looked even more surprised. Not very many humans could have such a skill. While the snake was thinking, Sol started to smell something very familiar. It had been about a year but he could never forget this sent.

"Hey, have you seen the Apophis? Her name is Sylvia was I need to see her." Sol said to the snake.

Then the snake thought of something,

"Yes, I have. If you come with me, I will be able to show you where she is."
