Dual Alliances: Strength and Strategy

after arriving at a clearing we are standing on the opposite side of each other, I ask the traveling merchant to hold the mysterious key, we put a rule that the winner is someone who fainted.

before the duel begins Valthorian came to my side and asked "Sir why do you accept this farce, you can just ask me to deal with him."

"well initially if his offer doesn't pique my interest, I would just order you to fight him and his challenge is not so simple if possible I want to hide your skill since most of your way of fighting relied on using your summoned unit it is impossible for you to beat him."

"but sir won't you be exposed?"

"don't worry I will only use the basic spell and try to hide that I'm already a tier 2, I won't use my job skill, new sword technique, and the magic loader."

"Sir are you sure you can win while holding back that much."

"well if push comes to shove I will use my sword technique."

after hearing my word he can only agree and warn me it is possible that he is luring me so he can use some item to kill me in this duel, hearing his warning I become more focused and try to relax so I won't have tunnel vision when the duel begins.

Both of us were walking closer toward each other, I already pulled my sword and handed the sheath to Valthorian, while the other side took a giant axe from his inventory.

to think I would fight another hero, but this time I didn't intend to end his life, after we got to a closer range we both started to become more cautious.

Darius was the first person to make a move by dashing toward me to knock me down I counter him a 0th tier spell slip making the surface to became lose friction, this result him in stopping his rush and giving me a chance to use a 1st tier lighting spell electrocute making his movement to be delayed because of the shock I follow it up with a basic vertical slash while also casting multiple 1st tier fire spell fireball 1st tier water spell water ball impact and delayed it release.

he used his mana to push the negative affect and shield his body from my attack making it deal less injury, Darius see the barrage of spell that is ready to greet him, he made a decision to fortified his body with mana and use a skill to raise his damage resistance and continue to rush forward but this time he clad he boots with mana to guard against the 0th tier spell.

after seeing his rush I immediately fired the delayed spell controlling them to collide with each other when they are nearing Darius resulting in an explosion from the sudden change of temperature.

seeing my vision covered by the mist, I decide to use my mana detection while taking a step back and keeping my guard up so I won't be caught off guard if he hasn't fainted yet.

the merchant hurriedly said "The winner is Sir Raiya, Sir Darius has fainted."

hearing the announcement I ordered Valthorian to directly pour the healing water into a bowl since it will be a problem if they found out that we are the source of the Healing Potion.

after hearing my order he immediately helped carry Darius while giving him a drink of the healing water.

I went toward the president and said "Sir you don't need to worry Valthorian is now healing your subordinate he will wake up soon, and I'm sorry I need to excuse myself." after saying my piece I continue to walk back toward the dungeon.

It seems even though the president of the adventurer Association want to have an alliance he is prepared to fight me if there a fallout from the plan in long term or even short term, seeing that his rejection of our duel is a farce to begin with after all he didn't say a word after Darius continue to push this duel

after Valthorian helps Darius by giving him the healing water, after that he carries Darius toward the safe zone, while following the traveling merchant toward his building.

after helping them he immediately left the building and returned back to the dungeon.

seeing that Valthorian left the merchant excuse himself from the room after serving them drinks to entertain the president.

when it was almost night Darius woke from his coma and immediately sat up.

"it seems you are fine, so how strong is he?"

"I feel his swordsmanship is very well trained but it is just basic swordsmanship, but the dangerous part is his control over his mana is very refined and his use of some spells is very creative, he uses not only magic but science as well, so I think if we want to defeat him we can try to restrain his magic."

"but do you think he still has other cards up his sleeve?"

"I'm sure he has, when fighting with me he still hasn't used any undead race spell, his talents, and he hasn't broken any sweat."

"It seems we are in trouble if he decides to attack the city, there are news in different regions some dungeon masters are conquering the city and destroying them."

"old man do you think, is he trying to trap us by agreeing to this alliance?"

"I can feel he is serious about our alliance, I just hope the signing of the alliance wont have any problem."

"Old man we better hurry back, or those bastards will use this opportunity as a reason to attack since they can say we were captured."

they exit the room and say goodbye and thanks for his accommodations before going back to the city
