Chapter 27: Standing up for his friend

Rahul took Bharat and Gaurav to his group of friends and informed them that from now onwards both of them will be the part of the group since they were his friends as well.

Since Rahul was the leader of this group and had the maximum influence there, everyone listened to him except for his girlfriend Mary. Mary could not stand Bharat since by the looks of it he came from a poor family and she could not believe that her boyfriend was now joining hands with this Bharat so she had to stop this from happening at any cost.

Mary who was Rahul's Girlfriend and was also a part of the group said: "No way they can not be a part of this group and I will not accept these lowly scums to be with us all the time. I have already asked you to arrange for Bharat to be kicked out of this college since if he remains here it will destroy our college reputation and you are now advising them to join our group as well is it not the opposite of what should have happened. If you are doing this because you have lost the sprint competition and want to avoid the conditions of the bet then you do not have to worry after all there was no written agreement made right so even if you do not fulfill the conditions he cannot do anything."

Rahul tried to explain to her and said: "Mary, we have misunderstood them. They are immensely talented as you can see that both of them have taken the championship in the swimming competition and sprint competition in the sports meet so they are famous now. If they join our group it will only benefit us and boost our groups and college reputation."

Mary who was already disappointed since her plans were spoiled by Bharat by winning the sprint competition was getting irritated since now her boyfriend has started taking Bharat's side who as per her opinion was a scum who should not be allowed to enter in the same college as them even if they have won championship and were talented since there was a high difference in status between them and her.

Mary replied to Rahul: "I will not allow him entry in this group if you want you can make friends with them however you cannot force me to accept them as friends since I am an independent person also you are free as well to be friends with them but do not bring them in front of me since I despise them if you force me any further then i will be breaking off with you."

Few of the other boys and girls who were the party members said in unison "Rahul we will also not accept this Bharat into our groups."

Mary knew very well how domineering Rahul can be since he always used to control all the group members also he was very aggressive in their relationship so even though she did not want to end their relationship since she used to love him and would like to be with him however she has to threaten him so that he could not force them to accept Bharat and Gaurav into their group. She also knew that she cannot stop Rahul from being friends with Bharat and Gaurav so she gave Rahul the choice to be friends with them if he wants to be friends with Bharat and Gaurav.

Rahul felt a headache coming on when he found himself in this complicated situation since he never imagined that his girlfriend who always listened to him would threaten him with their relationship as he also loved her a lot also he had promised Bharat and Gaurav to include them in the group so he did not know what to do now and looked towards Bharat and Gaurav with an apologizing look.

On the other hand Bharat was only coming along with Rahul since he insisted Bharat to become a part of his college group since they were already friends now however Bharat never had any intention to join their group anyways so seeing the situation getting worse he told Rahul to not force him to join the group as the party members did not want him to join anyways.

So Rahul also left the matter and replied to his group of friends: "Mary I will not ask you guys to accept Bharat and Gaurav into our group however I would like to mention that from now onwards they are my friends so I will take them out and you guys will not target them anymore."

Rahul was already owing Bharat a favor also he has been very nice to him so he did not see any issues making friends with Bharat.

Rahul said: "Bharat let's go for a night out to celebrate since we still had a lot of time for this sports meet competition to be over with as it is only 10 pm now and it will go on till 6 am in the morning so we have got the whole night at that point of time the medals will be distributed so for the time being let's move out somewhere what do you say Gaurav."

Gaurav said: "Yes I agree with Rahul we should go somewhere to celebrate and we have loads of time to come back for the awards ceremony in the morning so let's go."

Since Rahul and Gaurav persuaded so much and they were his new friends, Bharat had to go out with them.

Bharat said "Sure guys let's move out since there are so many more games about to happen I think it will be best to go out in the meantime."
