Three Rules II

"Rule number one." He started, "No slacking at work which includes tardiness as well, I won't tolerate such."

His expression was so cold and the look in his eyes always gave away the idea he was looking right into her soul and she gulped hard.

"Rule number two, always know when to keep quiet and rule number three, refrain from talking back to me and only reply with yes or okay sir, got it?"

"But what if I supposedly have an objection?" She argued nevertheless.

Xander lifted his pretty brow at her, his silent eyes indicating; 'Didn't you just hear all I've said?'

Anxi knew better than to offend the gorgeous man sitting in front of her but she can't possibly just agree to whatever he wants like some dumbo.

"If I find your objections convincing enough then I can go with that." He averted his gaze and opened a file in front of him.

"Before I start giving my orders, I'll call someone to show you around, get to know the place so it doesn't get confusing for you later on, I can't have you making excuses."

Anxi chose to ignore the suspicion in his tone and was a bit satisfied with the idea, she watched him dial a number and for some reason, her heart seemed to race the more she stared at him which she found weird.

Why did his presence make her uncomfortable all of a sudden?

"Andrey, I need you in my office this minute." His tone was firm, like he cared less about if the person on the line was actually busy or not, he disconnected the call afterwards, not waiting for a reply.

"Can... Can I ask a question, sir?"

He didn't meet her gaze and uttered casually, "Go ahead."

"It's a duty for a secretary to make the bosses coffee but I wasn't accustomed to the duty, why's that?"

He raised his head up to look at her and Anxi wondered if she by chance broke any rules judging from the way he was staring at her.

"Are you capable of making my coffee miss Anxi?" He questioned, making a coffee wasn't hard so she nodded.

"As long as I know your taste."

"No sugar, no milk, I want it black and rich."

Anxi found his taste weird. Who drinks coffee without sugar or milk? But didn't dare to utter those words and bowed her head in response.

"Of course."

Xander on the other hand was starting to find her behavior a little strange, she looks completely fine even after what transpired between them last night, more like clueless cause she seemed fine and less nervous, barely affected by it at all.

Meanwhile, he couldn't stop thinking about that hot kiss and it disturbed him all night, which puzzled him cause every night, he always had bad dreams.

He couldn't bear the silent torture of not being able to kiss her again and chose to come to work early to distract himself, forgetting the fact he already appointed her as his secretary so avoiding the strange feeling would be impossible at this case.

Now she's in front of him, acting clueless about everything, was it possible she forgot?

"Anxi."

"Yes sir?" She met his gaze and watched as the handsome being got up to his feet, taking a step towards her and she was left in a daze, why was he coming towards her direction?

"Is there anything you want sir?"

He wanted a lot of things from her, so much and so badly he wondered how he's not grabbed her yet and finished from where they stopped yesterday.

No woman has ever done that to him but this short woman in front of him was able to make him lose every self control he had and it all started after that night.

Anxi could feel the heat from his gaze and continuously wondered if she did anything wrong or not.

"Sir."

She equally moved back, not completely certain of his intention, he said it himself she made it on time and it doesn't seem like she broke any rules, so what was the issue?

Before Xander could take another step that would lead to him finishing their task, the door opened and instead of Andrey, Damian was the one who happily chimed in.

"Xander, told you I'd be back." His cheerful spirit dissipated the heat surrounding the office and Xander immediately got his senses back, goodness what did he even plan on doing?!!!

Anxi on the other hand was relieved by the stranger's presence and to top it off, it was the same person who gave her the card and was the reason she got a job today.

"It's you!"

Damian met her gaze and had that charming smile he loved wearing on his lips, it made him look even dreamier.

"We meet again."

Anxi bowed her head in greetings, she's been hoping to run into him and thank him for helping her get this job. He was equally charming but but didn't possess that forbidden dark aura like this being known as her boss.

"It's so good to see you again! I really thought I wouldn't see you after that day and I've been looking forward to thanking you."

Xander watched the friendly interactions between both of them and a frown instantly crossed his face, it's just a warm conversation but why did it make him boil?

"Well guess what, I'll be giving you a tour around this company, what do you say?"

Anxi smiled at the thought but Xander immediately interjected.

"There's no need for that, I called Andrey already."

"That's exactly what I'm here to talk about, the poor guy was busy so I decided to help him out, but who knew I was actually helping a friend." He winked at Anxi only to get on Xander's nerve and it worked as he noticed the death lasers staring at him.

"You don't work here, so how can you possibly give her a tour?"

"Come on, it's my best friend's company, how can I not know every corner of this place, don't worry, she's in good hands."

Anxi could barely understand the conversation between these two but as far as hers is concerned, she'd really like it if someone she was familiar with gave her a tour but not like her decision would matter.

"Can you give us a sec and wait outside?"

He asked which Anxi quickly obliged to and stepped out.

Xander's gaze darkened but Damian was barely affected and smiled teasingly.

"Don't worry, I have no plans of stealing her from you and as a good friend that I am, I'll study her for you, her qualities, her attitude, I'm helping you out here."

"Beat it!"

"Dude, be nice to me, I'm the only person you've got you should be grateful to me"

"You're this close to being a nuisance, do as you please."

He went back to sit on his winged chair looking irked up like he was wishing to shoot Damian at the spot, Damian on the other hand was enjoying how uncomfortable his cold-hearted friend looked at the moment, this girl really did something to him for sure.

"I'll be back once I'm done, don't miss me too much." He teased and stepped out while Xander rolled his eyes in sarcasm.

Damian finally joined Anxi and they both strode past the hallway together.
