The enigmatic hacker infamously known as 'Unknown' had just logged out of the twenty-fourth reality of Eric Brander, the presumably eliminated error. And all that remained was the one and only error left in all the realities, the twenty-fifth version of Eric Brander.

After the whole event with the twenty-fourth Eric's death, Unknown was in a desperate and enraged mood.

"๐Ÿ’ขDamn it! That useless moron! This happens every f#cking time!" he said as he slammed his fist into his monitor.

"Just follow some simple instructions so I can help you, but no..! You've gotta act like a stupid moron!"

Luckily, he had an array of five monitors to spare and use for his next attempt at saving Eric Brander.

It took him a good minute, but Unknown was able to calm down, especially after such an outburst. He may have been in his private workspace but he was still surrounded by other hackers in other enclosed cubicles just like his.

With his hands on his holographic keyboard and futuristic programming glasses, he begins to access the last reality of Eric Brander, "Accessing the twenty-fifth version of Eric Brander, code #Firelight#!"

"I won't take any chances now, I have to save him, otherwise, it could be a 'Protocol Red'." The 25th version of Eric Brander as well as the very last lifeline of Eric Brander was going to be saved by Unknown no matter what.

And as Unknown was hacking into the reality, Delete was on his way to finish the last remaining version of Eric Brander as well. Both determined to finish their tasks without fail.

....๐Ÿ๐Ÿ:๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ๐๐Œ....

Eric Brander, just like every other realities of Eric Brander that had existed was busy working overtime in his cubicle, typing away without a care in the world, having a bad case of insomnia and exhaustion.

Eric yawns slightly with a satisfying stretch, "Damn, there's a lot for me to do tonight. Hopefully, I'll get a raise very soon~! I'm sooo tired...!"

All of a sudden Eric receives a call from Unknown, a call he notices almost immediately, "Huh? A phonecall, why does it say "Unknown" and it's blue in colour for some reason."

....๐Œ๐„๐€๐๐–๐‡๐ˆ๐‹๐„....

"I'm here again, for the final time." Delete had arrived to the twenty-fifth Eric's timeline.

"It seems I've come right at the climax point. Hopefully, he doesn't answer that call. This just may be his last chance"

While at Eric's workplace, he was contemplating answering the call...

"๐Ÿ‡บ ๐Ÿ‡ณ ๐Ÿ‡ฐ ๐Ÿ‡ณ ๐Ÿ‡ด ๐Ÿ‡ผ ๐Ÿ‡ณ" was the name of the caller Eric saw on his smartphone.

"Who the hell is calling me?" he thought.

"It couldn't be the boss, right? I mean he could have called the work telephone instead so...it doesn't really make sense for him to call me around this time." Looking at the time and the circumstance of the call, Eric wasn't trusting of the call, afterall, this version of Eric Brander had heard stories about hackers and scammers that were able to hack people's bank accounts just from an answered phone call. Thus, this version of Eric Brander was more cautious.

"I'll Just ignore the call." he concluded.

But the call kept coming, the second time, third, even a fourth time, it didn't stop.

So Eric placed his smartphone on vibrate after the fifth call, "That was getting annoying."

After a while, the calls on vibrate were getting Eric annoyed as well.

"๐Ÿ’ขOk, that's enough of that!" So Eric then placed his smartphone on silent, the vibrations were distracting him from his work.

"Oh my god! This person is extremely persistent, don't they have other people to bother!?" he complained.

The calls were getting out of hand for Eric, the constant flashes of light from the unending calls on his smartphone were now another distraction from his work.

"It's been thirty missed calls, already!" he exclaimed shockingly.

"Well, since they don't have anything reasonable to do then I'll have to do this to hard way." Eric did something surprising in that situation.

He switched off his phone completely, "Ah... Now that's much better! No more annoying calls."

Eric thought he had gotten rid of the pesky calls but little did he know that from another reality, the prime reality, unknown was on his case without any signs of giving up...

"It seems he switched off his cell, he must think that'll stop me, he hasn't seen anything yet."

Unknown cracked his knuckles, spread out his holographic keyboard into a circle, and took control of the situation with his hacking skills. His typing speed was on another level.

All his hacking led to something unexpected.

At the time in Eric's timeline, even if it was brief, he was able to enjoy the calm and peaceful atmosphere without the annoying phonecalls. That is, untill...

His smartphone turned on by itself and was ringing from a phonecall, a call from '๐Ÿ‡บ ๐Ÿ‡ณ ๐Ÿ‡ฐ ๐Ÿ‡ณ ๐Ÿ‡ด ๐Ÿ‡ผ ๐Ÿ‡ณ', "What the-!? That's impossible! I know I switched my phone off, did I forget?"

"Wait, smartphones don't just switched on by themselves, do they? That's a bit scary if you think about it." he thought with a worried expression on his face.

"Maybe, I forgot...?" he thought, trying to convince himself.

Eric proceeded to switch off his smartphone once more. But this time, just to be on the safer side, he took out the phone's battery and placed it on his work desk, "That should do it, it's definitely not turning on again."

Once that was done, he went back to work oblivious of the fact that the calls weren't over, no, they were far from over.

There was another moment of peace for Eric, all that could be heard was the constant of typing of keys on his work desk keyboard.

Until, his smartphone rang again and it was a call from Unknown once again, "B-But that's impossible, I took out the battery! I took out the f#cking battery! How in the f#ck is the smartphone still on!?"

The whole experience started to freak Eric out, it didn't make any sense, and it shouldn't have because the smartphone was without its primary and only power source, the battery.

Eric immediately sprinted away from the ringing phone in shock while holding onto the smartphone's battery in hand.

"What the hell was going on." he thought.

"Am I...dreaming? But this feels so real!" Eric began pinching himself, trying to wake up from the crazy dream he thought to be having.

He kept thinking of other reasons this could be happening, "Maybe, it's a solar powered phone, so it's on no matter what. Maybe, I just have a bad case of insomnia that I'm starting to hallucinate from lack of sleep. Maybe..."

Either way, he had come to the conclusion that something beyond his comprehension was going on right now, right here in his work office. "But what?" he thought to himself.

After a while, the biggest question crossed his mind, "Should I...answer the call?"
