Chapter 9: Goal: Monster Universities

Hearing someone calling his name, Raman turned around and asked Allen, "What is it?"

"Sir, Does the top universities include all the top universities across the country? I heard that there are some universities that are not included in the list provided by the government." Allen asked while putting a eager expression.

Raman fell silent hearing Allen. After ruminating for a second, he said, "Actually, it isn't a big secret. When we say top universities, we only talk about the best universities across each state which are managed by the respective states."

"In reality, there are some other universities controlled directly by the central government i.e. they are only under the Phoenix country and normally states cannot interfere with their operation."

"Only the best geniuses will be able to join them or rather only monsters will be able to join them. So, most of these universities are named after mythical beasts with peerless talents."

Looking into the eyes of Allen, he said " If you want to know more details about these universities, come to my office before going home. It's time for your next class." saying so, he turned around and walked out of the class.

Allen's eyes followed the back of the teacher until he left his vision and then got back to his seat and got ready for the next class. In the mean time, he started thinking about the information given by the teacher and there was a trace of uncertainty in his heart.

His initial goal was to achieve the peak organ refining before the college entrance examinations. He felt that he had a lot of time.

But, thinking about it, he took things too lightly and took the information in internet for granted. Now, he started feeling a little urgency. He didn't even know the requirements for the so called 'Monster universities'.

After a 8 hours of endless waiting, the classes for the day finally ended and Allen picked up his bag and went to the office of Raman. He lightly knocked on the door.

"come in", from inside came a gruff voice and Allen instantly straightened up and went inside.

He could see that Raman was looking at a document with a serious look on his face. Allen could only stand there silently without making any noise.

After 2 minutes, Raman gently put down the document while releasing a quiet sigh and looked at Allen.

"Alright! What do you want to know Allen?" asked Raman.

"I want to know the entry conditions and the process of entry for the monster universities." Allen asked quietly while looking directly into the eyes of Raman.

Allen felt that his questions might arouse suspicions. After all, a normal student will not show such interest towards these monster universities as they are too far from them.

Raman replied with a sigh, "There is a reason why the news regarding the monster universities is kept secret from you as we are afraid that your mentality will be hit after knowing it. Only if you meet some requirements will you be informed about them."

"Do you know? The Monster universities are called by that name for a reason. The most basic requirements for application exceed the top geniuses in the top universities."

"To join Monster universities, one has to prove that they are a monster in at least a single field. They could either have a quick cultivation speed, or a battle genius who can cross levels to fight. They could also be a remarkable genius in another field like Technology, sciences, Alchemy, Blacksmithing, Rune master etc..,"

"Mind it! the genius here doesn't represent a normal genius but an apex ones."

"But sir, How are they going to select the students if that is the case?", Allen asked back.

"There are mainly 3 ways in which the students will be selected.

1. The State authorities can recommend geniuses from their from their own states

2. Achieving a particular milestone in any particular field will net you a spot for selection directly.

3. The State wide competition. The students with the best performance in the state wide competition will be directly admitted by the monster universities.

" And if your performance is very dazzling, the universities will actively come to you and provide you with many incentive so that you will join them. After all, the monster universities also compete among themselves." saying so, Raman once gain turned to look at Allen and asked, " Is there anything else you want to know?"

Allen thought for a moment and asked with burning eyes, " What kind of strength do one need if you want to have a good performance in the state level competition?"

Looking at the fierce fighting spirit burning in Allen's eyes, Raman was suspicious for a second and subconsciously replied, " Spirit sense stage at the minimum. Only a Mid-level Spirit sense stage martial arts can truly shine in the competition."

Even though he had anticipated the answer in his heart, hearing this sentence, Allen felt somewhat bitter in his heart. Even though he was confident in the system and himself, crossing an entire realm in 3 months is not within his calculations.

Still, he is not someone who could easily give up. Even though he felt that there is no hope, he still wanted to try his best.

After saying goodbye to his teacher, Allen went straight to his home. He needed some time to adjust his plans. According to his initial estimate, he could quietly practice without making any waves and can get into a top university if he worked hard enough with the help of system.

But, After knowing about the Monster universities, there is no way he could go with the previous plan. He only was to get a good rank in the state wide competition.

The first hurdle for that is the class competition in 2 weeks. The main difference between Allen and others is that he had absolutely no experience in combat.

Originally, he just wanted to have some training with other students and with his fast cultivation speed, he could reduce the lag between himself and his classmates.

Now though, he wanted to go to the wild. That way, he could get the improve his combat experience and also get the monster carcass which can be converted to Energy points by the system. After all, Spirit energy is deeply integrated into the body of monsters and is the source of their powerful physique.

If he just practiced conventionally, even with a body that is refined using the peerless grade body cleansing potions, he had no confidence to fight the true apex geniuses. And the energy points are the only way which he could use to subvert that.

With energy points, he could buy potions, treasures, knowledge and virtual experience cards which will help him shorten the time for his improvement.

With that being said, there is another problem that he had to deal with. In order to get out of the city to hunt, you need a certificate provided from the city government that are qualified to hunt outside the city.

People need a minimum strength of 500kg if they want to get the certificate. This is mainly to prevent people from committing suicide.

After all, even the weakest wild beast has a strength that is roughly equal to that. Combined with their beastly instinct and combat experience, if people weaker than that enter the wilderness, they will be torn apart at first sight.

Generally, only people in the bone refining stage have a strength of 500kg and most of the small hunting groups are formed upon them with an organ refining martial artist as the leader.

In order to achieve 500kg of strength, based on his calculations he at least had to peak Muscle refining. HE hadn't even started the muscle refining till now.

After dinner, Allen sat cross legged on bed closing his eyes and started thinking about the muscle refining volume in the Enhanced body refining exercise. According to the Manual, there are a total of 18 sets of exercises corresponding to the more than 650 muscles in the human body.

The main target of muscle refining are skeletal muscles and corresponding tendons

Your body has three different types of muscles which include skeletal muscles, smooth muscles and cardiac muscles.

Your skeletal muscles are voluntary. That means that you can control their movement. They're the only category of muscle for which you can do this.

The skeletal muscles are attached to the bones via tendons. Each muscle is comprised of thousands of muscle fibers that are bundled together.

Skeletal muscle is predominantly involved in movement. When one of these muscles contracts, it allows movement of a specific area of the body.

Refining muscles involve performing the exercise with a specific breathing patterns and repeating these exercises until your muscles are completely exhausted without any break.

Normally, without the use of medicines, it requires a long time coupled with a balanced diet to complete the muscle refining.
