Chapter eight

        The next day I followed the same routine and went to school. When I got to school I saw some people gossip about something but it was none of my business so I walked to class to study.

        When I reached my desk, Scarlett jumped out of nowhere. "Hi cos." I looked at her in annoyance. What does she want this time? "what do you want now?". Then she sat down next to me. "oh my, you really hurt my feelings there. Are we not friends? Anyways did you hear the news?"

       I heard people gossip about something but I didn't think it was necessary to know. I shooked my head "No, I didn't hear anything. I noticed people talking about something but I didn't think it was important. Is it something I should know?" 

       Scarlett slammed her hand on her forehead. "This is the problem I have with you. You don't even know what goes on in school at all. You just spend your time reading books. What do you see in those anyway?"

    "What I do is non of your business so are you going to tell me or not? If it is something useless then don't bother." I brought out one of my books and started reading. I am sure it's something useless.

      "okay okay fine, I will tell you. You don't have to be so cranky about it. It's about our school. Someone bought our school and you won't believe who it is. "

       'What? Someone bought the school? Our school is worth billions. There is no way someone would waste that much money for a school. She must be pulling my legs again.' "It's not funny Scarlett. Who would waste that much money to buy this school?"

      "I am serious this time. You might not want to believe me but it was the Alcott family that bought it." 'Wait. The Alcott family? They are the owners of the most successful business in the world. Many people have tried to negotiate with them but failed. It wasn't easy to meet a member of the Alcott family. I heard that that there are two sons and two daughters in the family but their faces have never been shown in public before so no one would recognize them even though they are out in the public.'

         "Even if I say I believe you, why are you so happy about it? I know you won't be this happy even though some rich family are buying this school. Tell me, I know you haven't told me everything yet." There was no way Scarlett would be this happy just because someone bought our school. 

     "You are right, that is not the reason why I am excited. The reason why I am happy is because the children of the Alcott family will start coming to school right here in this college. The sons will be our senior but the daughter will be our classmates. The youngest daughter is still young so she can't school here for now. They will be coming tomorrow. I am so excited." 

         I looked at her in shock. 'Although it's weird that they will be in our school. Their faces will finally be revealed and people will be really curious to see them but does she have to drool that much?' Scarlett was already in dreamland just by thinking of them. 

       "I know you really want to see their faces but you don't have to be that excited about it. What is so exciting that you are already drooling so much?" 

        "It not just their faces I want to see. I might be able to grab the attention of one of the sons. If I become one of them girlfriend, I will have lots of money. Even if they are ugly I can still gather enough money and then break up with him. It won't be hard getting their attention because I am the most attractive in this college. I just need to work my charm on one of them. As for the daughter, I will become friends with her and then I will use her to get lots of money. I am really smart."

       I just rolled my eyes and went back to reading my book. 'Even though I am also curious about these people I won't waste my time thinking about useless things. I just need to focus on my studies.'

       After school I packed my bag and got ready to go to the Cafe when I got outside I tripped over two legs. I fell down and hurt my knees badly. It hurts a lot.

       When I looked back I saw Amber and her friends smirking. Then a man walked over to me and offered to help me get up. Then he gave Amber and her friends and murderous look before they ran away. It was really satisfying seeing them scared like that. He really frightened them. 

     I turned to thank my helper when I saw a gorgeous man standing in front of me. He was really stunning. He had brown hair and blue eyes. It made me think about Katie's annoying brother. Compare to him this man was really nice but Katie's brother was arrogant and stupid. But I felt like I have seen this man before. He looked familiar. 

      "Are you alright? Those girls really hurt your knees badly. Can you walk properly?" He then took me to a nearby bench and told me to sit. "Wait right here. I will be back with an ointment." Hey said before running off. 'This man really looked familiar but where have I seen him' 

     Few minutes later, he was back with an ointment and a cloth. Then he bent down and took my legs to dress it. It was so awkward. "No, please I can do it myself" He just smiled and said "Don't worry I will do it for you. You're the injured one so let me help, please." 

      I finally agreed and nodded my head. It was so awkward. When he finished dressing the wound he stood up and extended his hand to help me get up. I took his hand and stood up. 

     "Thanks a lot for your help. I really appreciate it." he man smiled and said "No worries. You are Amelia Jones right?" 

      'Woah, he knows my name?' "Yes but how do you know my name. Have we met before?" I just can't recall where I have seen him. If he knows my name then we have surely met before. 

       "You probably don't remember me. My name is Ares, we studied in the same high school." just then I remembered. Ares is one of the heartthrobs during high school. There were two heartthrobs in high school. They were Ares and Max. Luna managed to catch Max's attention but no girl was able to grab the attention of Ares. He was somehow attracted to Luna. He always eyed her anytime we passed but he never talked to her, I always thought he liked Luna since he always ignored the girls that chased after him.

       "Oh Ares, I am so sorry I didn't remember you sooner." He smiled. "No need to apologize. You were not the type of person that socialized with people. By the way where is Luna? Doesn't she school here? 

        'So he still has feelings for Luna' "Sorry but she doesn't school here. It's a long story but we are not that close anymore. By the way, why are you here? Are you schooling here? I don't think I have seen here before." I wondered why he was here. 

      "Oh, I will be completing my last year in this college so I just came to check it out. I will be resuming tomorrow. I guess we will be seeing each other often." 

        "I see, I hope you like it here. I am sure you will easily fit in. You were quite popular during high school." Just then I remembered. I was late for work. I could get fired. I have to hurry. 

      "Huh, it was nice meeting you but I really have to go, I am late for work. If I don't go now I could get in big trouble. I hope you understand." I feel bad for not thanking him properly. 

      "Well then if that is the case let me give you a ride. You won't be late if I give you a ride." I was speechless. Me? A ride? 

        "That won't be necessary, I have already bothered you enough already. I haven't even pay you back for what you've done. Moreover if I run I will be able to reach there early." he has done so much for me already. I don't want to owe any more favors. 

      "okay then, if you want to pay me back then let's be friends. I would love to have a friend like you in my new school." 'oh my gosh, now he wants to be friends with me? I really don't like having friends. Scarlett was already enough even though we aren't even that close but I it won't be a problem if I am friends with Ares, we don't have to be close.' 

     " Fine, you can be my friend." he looked really happy after hearing that. "Then can this friend give you a ride? Please?" I had a feeling that if I keep refusing him I would really be late for my work so I agreed and he drove me to the Cafe. Fortunately I got there just in time. They I thanked Ares and waved him goodbye.

        When I was about to turn, he shouted "See you tomorrow, I have a surprise for you." 'A surprise for me? What could it be?' I beamed a smile and said "I will be looking forward to it then. Thanks again for today." After that I entered the Cafe and Ares drove off.
