NEED A BREAK

Upon the chaos of the battlefield, Rustain arrived with a spectacular entrance, he dashed along with his blade and sliced through amputating the claw which holds Sei, falling to the ground a cracking sound came out from her, groaning from pain, she crouched around the waist, it was a broken rib, she couldn't stand.

Sei saw how the Naga squirm in pain and also saw Rustain approach her amid the dust that enclosed the field.

"Brother, you're late" Sei, raising her left arm wide open while the other assisted her abdomen. Rustain carried her.

She flinched a little when Rustain embraced her around the waist, she placed her left arm across Ruatain's neck, as her vision hazed as well the strength of her body, all she could last see was Rustain racing away from the Naga.

Kaizer groaned, he tried to stand but his feet wobbled, the ground started to wave at him. Standing far from him, he saw Rustain carrying Sei and instantly they sprinted away from the naga.

"You-you're--- Ain?!" Stuttering, Kaizer looked up and saw an Ain that is covered with muscle mass, the scrawny Ain that he knew was gone. "But how? Pfft...Is it steroids?" Kaizer laughs out of awkwardness.

Rustain sighs towards Kaizer, his muscle face relaxed.

"Just try to guard Sei for me, she's knocked out" Rustain gently placed Sei beside Kaizer, "and no it's not steroids"

Rustain turned around and saw the Naga regained its composure, it looked at Rustain with bloodlust. People around it began to run away.

"I could beat that thing if it weren't me getting hit" Kaizer said arrogantly.

Rustain chuckled and immediately sprinted toward the Naga, he swiftly launched an attack that looked effortless, Rustain was fast but it lacked power; the scales of the Naga were hard to penetrate even for Rustain.

With each hit, he grits his teeth from dissatisfaction

*Damn it, it's not working... I can't survive this for the long run, * Rustain thought.

The fight continued not giving each other a chance to breathe, Rustain lost the element of surprise, and after taking the Naga's attention he had a hard time launching a fatal blow to it, every move the Naga would always counter him with much stronger force.

"Ha~, ah~"

The battle already took its toll in Rustain's legs, he created a distance but the creature immediately took this as an advantage and did a surprise attack, the Naga raised its head opening its mouth and from there a massive fireball suddenly formed, it flew across the field aiming at Rustain.

Rustain was caught off guard but he managed to dodge away, he lost balance falling to his knees as he escaped.

A wide grin flowed across the Naga's face, enjoying the moment the Naga stared at Rustain with its eyes bursting with bloodlust, Rustain's gaze ran across the field and realized it wasn't aimed only at him.

"HUEK!!" Kaizer flinched when he realized that the fire blast was aimed at them. Unable to move he decided to shield Sei who was unconscious.

Rustain witnessed this, he narrowed his eyebrows as he ran as fast as he could towards them. Losing reason in a battle became Rustain's flaw, he didn't notice the tail of the Naga swung towards him launching him into the air.

(THUD!!)

Rustain fell hard on his back, being far away he couldn't do a thing but watch, he clenches his fist

"AHHH!!! DAMN IT!!" Said Rustain who stumbled on the ground, he looked at them as the fire approached their faces closer.

He knew he couldn't catch up with the attack after the gap had been drawn, watching his new family burn again is painful to see, he turned his gaze away, screaming voices echoed in his ears. The people around him who fled the scene screamed endlessly and he fell flat on the ground and couldn't do a thing.

*Again!! I'm too weak, is falling too short my thing?.... Fate wants me to keep repeating the cycle, I can't even save them... I need power*

Rustain clenched his fist, he baffled in his thought, flooded with a sharp sound, and thinking only how powerless he is, he swallowed his saliva and telepathically Rustain erased his pride and asked the only being he knew will be present.

[Kuro!! Help me!! I'll do anything you want, MAKE ME STRONGER DAMN IT!!] Rustain kneeled in his thoughts.

[USE YOUR MAGIC] Kuro replied.

With everything he got, Rustain immediately raised his hand and muttered the only spell he knew.

"/OBLIVION/"

Just like that everything became silent, eerie sound engulfed the field

Dark shadows began to flow out like a river from Rustain, the cold sinister magic formed a paper this wall that faced the fire blast, upon contact it changed the form, creating a barrier that instantly swallowed the fire, it didn't stop there it also swallowed the Naga whole.

The cold breeze dances around the space, crumbling rock, and falling trees, the sudden silence flows like the wind. Kiazer widens his eyes in disbelief,

"M-Magic?" Kaizer.

Rustain tried to stand up, his feet wobbled and his face sweats in gallons, the feeling of fatigue is evident in his face and movement. The magic took its toll on his body.

(PANTING~)

Rustain started to walk towards Sei and Kaizer, along the way Rustain heard something.

(LUB DUB, BADM!!)

Hearing his heartbeat loudly, a sudden pain around and his chest struck Rustain putting him to his knees.

"HEUK!! GRRR!!"

"AIN!!" Kaizer yelled, witnessing Rustain

The pain felt like a thousand fire ants chewing through his flesh, his face turned red, his body trembled, and all his senses dwindled.

Everything was overwhelming and Rustain started to lose consciousness.

|Bear with it| Kuro suddenly sends a telepathic message.

|hiek!! Easy for you to say| Rustain replied as his whole body palpitated.

|Rustain concentrate!! You should be able to visualize the energy inside you you just need to concentrate| Kuro emerges from Rustain's shadow.

Kuro jumped and landed on Rustain's purple complexion, he placed his soft paws directly touching the forehead. Releasing a new flow of magic into Rustain, the overwhelming pain inside of his contractor's body lessens into a bearable state.

|that should do the trick, now concentrate... Imagine the energy flowing into a singularity| as Kuro guided the flow of energy towards the center, he was expecting Rustain to do the same.

*ugh... This chaotic energy just what is this, I can feel it's reaping my insides, just need to follow Kuro's lead I'll trust him one more time* Rustain thought of the moment.

Following the way Kuro lead the flow of energy inside him, Rustain imitates the flow and in his mind, everything flowed into a single orb, inside his mind he saw how chaotic the orb was, its blazing fire, rampaging inside the orb, and the heat it releases was enough to feel the need to do something.

|Kuro I did it, now what|

|just leave it to me| Kuro appeared inside of Rustain's head, touching the orb. Ruatain noticed the fire inside it slowly dwindling, losing its wild nature, and soon the inside of the orb was extinguished.

Witnessing this Rustain felt warm subtle energy inside him, this energy energized his fatigued body, his completion brighter and his wound slowly healed.

|What did you do|

|I'll explain it later but you better leave with your friends now| Kuro said, as his tone turned anxious.

Rustain was pulled out from his mental state and back into reality, upon opening his eyes he heard Kaizer's voice being silenced by the strong wind forcefully bending the trees around them.

"AIN!!! BEH#####" Rustain couldn't hear Kaizer's voice.

"WHAT??!? CAN'T HEAR YOU" Rustain replied.

Being back into his body full of vigor, he stood up and walked against the strong wind and towards Kaizer who was holding Sei, Rustain noticed how the wind around them suddenly became much stronger than before and it's making him harder to walk.

Rustain walked shielding his face from the gust and leaves, baffled by what happened when he was struggling earlier he began to notice a sharp bloodlust looking at him.

|Kuro what was that??|

Getting closer towards Kaizer, he saw Kaizer's pale face and his eyes staring not at him but behind him.

|Rustain!! Run NOW!!|

Kuro commanded Rustain who immediately carried Kaizer and Sei effortlessly, he started to race away from the location and at that moment the bloodlust became stronger, and following that was a loud howl.

"AHHWWOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!"

A chill feeling flows down directly at his spine.

"Can't I at least rest!!"
