*Chapter 34: My Everything

Leiro's PoV

Those black hair and green eyes... I can tell that she really is her- the woman I've been thinking about for a long time... The woman I once thought about if she's really real or not... I really don't know what's in us two but...

...

But why?

Why can't I remember her name? Why do I feel like I already know her because of her face and the sweetness of her smile, but why can't I remember even just her name?

And yes... I remember that promise. A promise I've been holding on to for three years... A promise I'm trying to find out because I don't have a single memory about it... A promise we made with that woman, but we both forgot about it and just buried it from our past...

I don't even know how to tell her this if we actually meet, but I'll just try to say the promise to remind her that we will get married just like what our promise said... I know it's embarrassing to say that to a stranger but, to me, she's isn't one.

I was a little panicked that time when I saw that woman in the jeep that was just on the side of the jeep I was riding in. The road was a bit wide so it didn't go ahead of us. I tried to look at her sharply as if I wanted to get her attention, but I failed. I wanted to shout for her to hear but in a flash she suddenly looked at the jeep I was riding in- a perfect timing when we suddenly looked at each other ...

For the first few minutes we were silent but we still looked at each other, as we both suddenly noticed a single tear coming from our eyes but we did not know why we were crying. I can feel that she felt the same way when we looked at each other. Without hesitation, she quickly arranged her bag and I noticed that she wanted to get out from the jeep so I decided to do that too.

"Sir driver, I'll be going down here-"

"I'm sorry sir but it's not allowed for a passenger to go down here. I'll just let you down there at the end of this area. I'm sorry, I'm just following the rules." The driver said to me as he just continued driving.

I wanted to complain but he might get even angrier so I just took a deep breath and looked at the woman in the other jeep. He looked at me too, and I can tell she can't go down either.

Well... It looks like it will take me a while before I talk to her, but I know that we will definitely talk again today... And when that moment comes, I'll make sure not to miss any single chance...

Cursed this traffic!!!!

I was even more confused when we were overtaken by traffic on the road, and the jeep in which the woman was riding was a little ahead. I quickly wear my headphones because of the deafening noise of the drivers who were constantly making honks in their cars, and at the same time the passengers who had previously complained about the slow progress of the vehicles- not to mention that there are really a lot of people on the road during Sundays...

"Sir driver, let me just ask, why there is a heavy traffic today? I don't think I felt such traffic like this yesterday though." I asked the driver while looking out of the jeep as I tried to see what was happening there.

"There was a truck stumbled down there near the intersection last night. Because that truck crashed so much, the road was damaged greatly. That road is too old actually so they fixed it immediately this morning."

I couldn't say anything back. I tried to get my head out from the jeep but it's no use... Wait, did that woman's jeep started running already? I feel like it's just my jeep that's stuck here and her jeep's already drove away...

After ten minutes of waiting, the cars in front of us started moving. I was so bored because of the traffic earlier that I seemed to have lost my interest to see that woman, so I just told the driver to forget that I was going down at the end and decided to go to Iloilo SM City... My, I let myself down. Looks like I've missed my chance.

After a few minutes I got off in front of SM with the other passengers in the jeep I was riding in when I felt a little hungry. Well, good timing. Maybe I should eat first before buying new sandals for Lunely-

(Flashback...)

"Don't worry. If it breaks then I'll be glad to buy you a new one. I just don't want you to get any colder that's why we need to buy you some clothes fast."

"Leiro!! This was my only sandals and now you broke them! Huhu ..."

"Have you already forgotten what I've said earlier? Didn't I say that when your sandals broke, I'll buy you a new one? Your condition is more important to me than your sandals. Your sandals can still be changed, but your life will never be the same."

Wait, Lunely?

This feeling...

It may be a flashback, but it turned out that a smile suddenly appeared on my face- well, yeah... I remember that. I once bought that woman sandals when we ran into this mall, and the time I also bought her new clothes because she was getting cold at that time...

Wait, who is she once again? My, I forgot her name again!

But anyways, I slowly climbed a concrete barrier to the glass door of that mall. As I entered the mall, the guards inspected me, and then I just found myself walking in the middle on the first floor.

I decided to buy some milktea first- if I ate at a fast food restaurant today I might have less money to buy new sandals for Lily- even if I just buy it instead of the stuffed toy she wanted... I bet she'll understand.

"That would be seventy-five pesos sir." She smiled at me as I took the receipt from her and slowly find an empty seat. This would take just five minutes so I can wait.

As I could sat down, my phone suddenly rang.

I picked my phone up from my pocket and it turned out to be my little sister, so I just answered it without any hesitations.

"Hi brother! Where are you now? Are are okay there?"

By the way... she thought I was going to Taytay Diversion now. Actually, I have to surprise her with the sandals I will buy here today so I should keep this a secret.

"Here, I bought some milktea first because I'm a little hungry. Are you at our house yet? Make sure you put the meat we bought in the fridge okay? I'm really sorry Lily..."

"Nah, don't worry brother... I know you want a little space now so that's okay with me. But please, don't do something that you'll regret it okay? I still remember you almost jump off a bridge just because of the woman you want to see- "

"I k now, I know... I mean, that's two years ago already. Don't worry, I won't do that again, i promise..." I smiled at her when suddenly a waitress came with carrying a tray with a red velvet milktea I ordered earlier.

"Here's your order sir."

"Thank you." I smiled at her as I talked back to Lily. "Oh, Lily, be careful there, okay? Make sure to lock the doors and maybe something will-"

"I know brother, I know... Well, I'll hang up now. Take care of yourself, brother."

"And likewise Lily. Bye."

I hanged up the call and slowly poked the straw of the milktea container to a hole on the top and started drinking it. My, that was a close one... It's a good thing I didn't mention my surprise to her-

I was a bit surprised when there was a number I didn't know who called my phone. That number was pretty familiar to me though, so I answered it right away.

"Um, hello? This is Lei Roland. Who are they?" I asked purposefully when I was suddenly startled by the voice of the caller to me.

"L-L-Leiro?"

I almost got choked by the tapioca pearl I was eating in the milktea when I heard that. Wait, this voice's really familiar... I this...

"Um, yes... Can y-you please tell me your n-name?"

Tears suddenly fell from my eyes as I felt she's started crying as well. I know this is weird for me but-

"Honestly... This number was on my phone the time I woke up, but I only saw it now. I was just curious who it was but, to be honest... It seems... You seem familiar to me..."

I immediately stood up with my milktea when I suddenly came out of that shop and asked her.

"W-Where are you now? Please, wherever you are, don't leave your pose... Please don't..." I started to cry when I immediately went to an escalator- this is it, I guess... The moment I've been yearning for years already...

"A-I'm here now outside the SM City. On the sky footwalk-"

"Please, don't leave there! I'm going to see you there!" I told her when I immediately ran down the escalator because I was a little bored of waiting before I could get to the end and immediately searched the entrance of the mall.

Well, I'm right... Today's the day I will going to see her- the woman I have been looking for during my three years of living here on earth... I can tell... That she also wanted to see me...

I immediately ran out of the mall when I saw the stairs on the side leading to the sky footwalk and I immediately climbed there. I'm still holding my milktea that is only half-full until I reach the top of the said footwalk...

And...

Finally, I see her- once again...

A woman just leaning at the end of the footwalk, with those black hair and green eyes. She was like a princess in her cyan dress and her red sandals, and she was carrying her shoulder bag when she saw me. She was also on her phone, crying and carrying a red velvet milktea just like mine today.

I slowly turned off my cellphone and slowly walked towards her. She did the same too, but as we approached each other, more tears continued to flow from our eyes...

And when we're just one meter away from each other I suddenly spoke, but I still tried not to cry...

"Um, miss? I-I think I'm a little stupid to ask you this but... We've met before, haven't we?"

I tried to hold back my tears as she also did the same too ... We tried not to cry as she gently answered my question to her.

"To be honest... I'm also a bit stupid to answer your question but- Yes... I know we've met before..."

We started to cry and without any hesitations, I suddenly hugged her... A hug that I haven't felt for three years ... A hug that once made my life happy and gave me hope...

"Yes... It really is you... You are the woman I have been looking for for a long time... The woman I loved so much and the woman who once saved my life..."

"I feel... I feel the same way to you too Lei!" She sobbed as she hugged me tightly as I did to her... And because of this hug, I remembered everything...

"I missed you Lunely... So much..."

...That this girl, is my love, my life, and my everything...
