*Chapter 28: Sacrifice

Lunely's PoV

It's already four in the afternoon but we're still making plans for tonight's mission. Yusarine was busy there searching for information on a site connected to M.L. Institution, Mark is also busy organizing the files we will need for later, Professor Austin and Charlotte are also busy finding other files in the drawers here in this office and Lilith and I are currently helping Leiro about what he will plan for later.

"This space is a bit hidden brother so it will be difficult for us to get witnesses for later." Lilith said suddenly as her hands landed on the table. My, this is more like a chess- we're making strategies in order to capture the king.

"Oh yes... Not to mention that we'll meet before ten o'clock at night and there won't be many people at that time." Leiro just sighed and shook his head. Hey... I don't think Lei can think straight now.

"Well, we have no choice. We can only rely on ourselves later. I don't want anyone to lose anyone that's important to me, that's why this plan has to be precised." Leiro's voice suddenly became serious when he took a push pin and stuck it on the map on a wooden table.

"Lilith, since Professor Seth doesn't know you're here right now, I want you and Charlotte to wait outside and be our lookout. The police will call you as soon as I give the signal." Leiro suddenly raised his right arm as a sign that this was the signal that Lilith should follow later.

"I understand, Brother. You can count on me there." Lilith smiled when Leiro suddenly spoke in front of me. He took two push pins and pinned in directly inside the space near M.L. Institution.

"Lunely, since you and Yusarine will come with me inside later, I want you to act naturally- like you're scared or something. Mark will go with you and he will hold you while I make my plans." Leiro said to me as he took one more push pin and pinned it inside that space on the map.

"But how are you Lei? It's kinda unfair that you will make a plan for us but you won't even tell us your own plan ..." I pouted at once as I looked at him. Leiro just nodded his head as he always did to me before.

"Please believe in me in what I will do later Lunely ... No matter what happens, just accompany me in the scenes I will do as soon as we started our conversation with Professor Seth."

"Okay guys, listen. We only have one chance to make this plan so let's not waste it." Leiro told us as he showed us the push pins stuck on the map. My, Lei's great leader. He can make plans that involved everyone.

"Now, for our plan ... We'll arrive quarter to nine in the evening so that our police can be properly prepared- oh yes, how about the police, Charlotte?" Leiro suddenly asked Charlotte but she just winked about it.

"Hey Mark, bud, you'll take care of Yusarine and Lunely. I decided to tie their hands later to pretend they can't escape. And Mark, whatever they do to hinder me from my plans, please... Stop them. Can you do it?"

"Sure bud, you count on me." Mark answered seriously when Leiro suddenly confronted Professor Austin.

"Professor, I know you also want to help but ..."

"Leave me alone, grandson. If there is any way for me to help, just let me know. But when Professor Seth is arrested, I will take care of him in that precinct. For now, focus on the recovery of the suspects. Your parents, Leiro. I hope you succeed in your plans. " Professor Austin just smiled at us when I suddenly asked Leiro.

"Um Lei, I'm not interfering, but what is your plan, if I can ask?" I asked him, but he did not answer immediately. Instead, he suddenly snatched something from his bag and placed it down on the table. We laughed a little because Leiro had brought two bottles of ketchup from his bag.

"Laugh all you want guys- I won't mind." Leiro said seriously once those bottles were back in his bag. "When this scene is over I will explain everything to you."

"Well, we don't know what's the connection of those ketchup on your plans bud but we believe in you. We were just a little bit unexpected." Mark just stopped laughing when we saw it was five in the afternoon. Leiro suddenly closed the map and put it inside his bag.

"C'mon guys. It's now or never..."

We are now inside Charlotte's van as we prepare for my parents' recovery from Professor Seth. Charlotte is now the one currently driving the car while Mark is sitting next to her. Yusarine and Lilith were also sitting in the first row of seats and Lunely and I were in the back seat. Lunely is now asleep while she's hugging me.

I suddenly remembered my plans before. Although Lunely will be a little hurt by what I'm going to do later but I have to do it according to my plans. I also consulted Mark about this privately and thank goodness that I can count on him to do what I do later ...

"Here we are guys." Charlotte suddenly told us when I saw M.L. Institution again. We stopped near the entrance of a storage house behind the said institution when we saw two guards near the entrance.

"Um guys ... Maybe you should wait here until I give the signal okay?" Suddenly Charlotte tells as she went out from the car. I was going to stop her but she seemed to know what she was going to do so I just let her. Seconds passed we were stunned because all of a sudden those guards fell down because of Charlotte.

"The heck is that?!" Yusarine and Lunely shouted because of what Charlotte did but Lilith just laughed at it. She seem to know about Charlotte.

"Of course. Charlotte is good at martial arts. It's amazing to watch her when she's practicing because her moves are really cool." Lilith smiled at us when Charlotte suddenly waved at us, signaling that we could go out.

I looked around first when I remembered something. I picked up a rock from one side of the road once thrown at a CCTV attached outside the gate, causing it to explode which shocked my colleagues.

"What's that Lei?!" Lunely shouted at me but I just smiled while pointing at the broken CCTV near the gate.

"Nah... Just the CCTV."

"But I wish you had said that!"

"Sorry Lunely." I smiled as we slowly went inside. Charlotte and Lilith were left outside to serve as lookouts as we became alert now that we were in our opponent's territory.

Just a few seconds later we saw Professor Seth with my parents with their hands tied and their mouths taped.

"Mom! Dad!!"

"Oh, just calm down Leiro... I followed the rules, didn't I? Here are your parents, alive and healthy. And I must give you compliments since you also followed the rules too. Yet, I'm curious about your bag over there. Do you mind if you can open it for me? " Professor Seth asked me as I smiled slyly. I opened my bag and grabbed two bottles of ketchup which surprised him.

"Just for inspiration just in case. I'm from the party so I have it ..." I said jokingly once I opened a bottle and asked him. "Do you mind if I drink this?"

Professor Seth laughed even more at what I said but I could see traces of confusion on Lunely and Yusarine's faces.

"Do what you want, I won't waste my time for your nonsense things." Professor told me when I suddenly drank the contents of the ketchup, for the reason that Lunely was a little sick of what I was doing. Well, I don't mind- I like this flavor.

"Oh here, maybe you also want to drink Professor ..." I told him when I threw him a bottle with only ketchup but it broke about three meters near t6o him, for the reason that the armed men were started pointing their guns at me again. niya. "Oops, my bad."

And I know you want me to disappear from this world so..." Suddenly, I looked back at Mark, as a sign that he was holding Lunely and Yusarine's hands tightly, for the reason that they were shocked.

"I'm giving you a better offer. Release my parents, my girlfriend and my cousin. In return ... I will kill myself in front of you." I said bluntly as I pulled the butterfly knife out of my pocket. I could already hear Lunely struggling but I ignored her.

"Oohh... That determination- I like that. So will you just give yourself up for them? How hilarious!" Professor Seth jokingly said that I saw Charlotte started to take down the armed men guarding the top of the storage room.

"If it's for the freedom of my loved ones, then I have to do it." I told her seriously when Lunely suddenly shouted behind me.

"What the heck Lei?! Aren't you thinking straight right now?! I thought you weren't going to make a fool of yourself eh? Think about your self first!" I could feel the anger in Lunely's voices as she tried to get away but she couldn't do that.

"Oh Lei, didn't you hear that? Won't you follow her eh? Now someone here wants to be a hero!" Professor Seth and his colleagues laughed even more when I started to point the butterfly knife in the middle of my stomach. I felt fear as I do this as I continue to hear Lunely and Yusarine's cries.

"Well then... Show me."

"I hope you'll follow our conversation, Professor Seth... Because if you don't, I'll kill you myself!" Suddenly I shouted at him as I-

"Lei!!!"

A deep sting of the knife pierced into my stomach, causing me to close my eyes in extreme pain. I could feel the blood stained my blue polo and I started vomiting blood.

"Let me go, Mark! Let me go!"

I slowly fell to the floor and lose my consciousness yet, I can still hear Lunely crying and Professor Seth laughing... Hopefully, with this sacrifice, everything will follow my plans...

"I'm... Leaving the rest to you... Lunely..."
