*Chapter 23: Confession

Lunely's PoV

It was past seven o'clock when Leiro arrived at the mansion. Yusarine and I were eating when we noticed that he was carrying a grocery bag. He also has two new cell phone boxes in his other hand- eh? What happened? Why does he brought two new cellphones? And what are the things he bought for?

"Um ... brother Lei?" I said calmly as I caught his attention. "Let's eat."

"Thanks Lunely, but I ate at the mall recently. Don't worry, I'm fine." He smiled at us when Manang Fae helped him with what he was carrying.

"Oh my gosh Sir Lei! Why did you buy all of these? What are you going to do with all that?" Manang Fae asked him when he suddenly smiled.

"Well, Manang Fae... I actually don't have school tomorrow and then the weekend the day after tomorrow, I decided that Yusarine and Lunely and I will go out and have some fun. You know, like a camping or something?"

Suddenly I choked on what I heard. Yusarine was also a bit surprised by what Leiro said and- the heck is that ?! Are you serious Lei ?! Wait, did he read our minds about our plan?! Oh my! How is this possible?

"Ohh ... That's why. It's a great idea, to be honest. Just take care of yourselves huh? I'll tell ma'am and sir so they'll know about this." Manang Fae smiled at him as I quickly finished my meal and went to the kitchen.

Yusarine and I hurriedly went upstairs towards Leiro's bedroom and when we opened the door we saw him unboxing the cellphones he had bought.

"Oh, there you are Lunely, Yusarine. Come here... I would like to give you something." Leiro smiled and told us when I suddenly raised an eyebrow at him.

"Um, brother Lei? What kind of nonsense is this-"

"This isn't nonsense, Lou." Suddenly, Leiro's mood changed, he became a bit serious than before. Eh, did I did something wrong? I stared at his monitoring watch and I was surprised to see his disorder at level three already.

"What do you mean?! I mean look at yourself, aren't you aware that your disorder has gone level three already?!" I shouted yet I can see that he's somehow unaffected.

"I am aware of it, don't worry. But first, give me your phone. And you too Yusarine, please..."

The heck?! Why would he ever to ask something like that?!

"Please. I'm asking you one more time. Give me your phone-"

"I'm sorry Kuya Lei!!" I shouted again just to make him forget about the phone thing. "We should have told you this but we're afraid you might stop us-"

"What are you talking about Lunely?" Leiro chuckled, and seconds passed I was embarrassed... Wait, is Leiro doesn't know about our departure tomorrow?! "C'mon now, promise I won't open your phones. Just please, give it to me."

Yusarine and I were still a little nervous at that time but we had no choice but to give her our phones. He didn't even open it, instead he just piled it up on the desk when he pulled something out of his pocket and-

Seconds passed before we realized, we saw a butterfly knife pierced to our cellphones, causing it to break and to reason why we were shocked.

"The heck Leiro!"

"I didn't do that without a reason." Leiro suddenly told us when he suddenly handed over the cellphones he had bought for us. "You should be careful about your enemy's plans, you know?"

Yusarine and I were all froze on the same spot. Leiro just threw those broken phones at the trash can and gave us new phones, together with our new SIM card and a 32 gigabyte memory card that I wanted to buy when I was just ten years old.

"But still... I am confused brother Lei... Why are you like that?" I asked him, but he ended up smirking gently and folded back his butterfly knife.

"Simple ... I know your plan to escape from Professor Seth tomorrow as well as your plan in ending his evil doings." He told me as he suddenly placed a document containing files about Professor Seth- wait, he read the contents of that folder?!

I stopped speaking as I saw him sighed and pinned down another folder containing Professor Seth's next victims and the passed victims he killed as he suddenly struck his butterfly knife down on a part of the file containing his name and a date- moment, how did he get this one?!

"Yay! I didn't know you had that cuz Lei! I really thought I've lost it!" Yusarine was acting hysterically when I suddenly asked her about that folder.

"Wait, Kuya Lei, how did you get it huh? Don't say you sneaked into Professor Seth's office-"

"Well, remember the thing you gave me Yusarine- the Lunely's autobiography? You haven't noticed that this folder was actually inside Lunely's folder, and because of its thinness you didn't really notice it." Leiro just laughed a little as he turned around towards me.

"Hey, Lunely, do you mind if I confess something?" Leiro suddenly asked me when I suddenly blushed. My, is this what I'm waiting for?!

"Kuya Lei naman? Why are saying those words like that-"

"Everything I made in the past few weeks was all just a set-up. From the time I chose you as my little sister, to the time I stopped you from flying to the U.S." Leiro told us direct-to-the-point. Yusarine suddenly surprised us that we could hardly speak as he continued explaining.
