*Chapter 16: Sick In Bed

Lunely's PoV

"Uhm..."

I slowly woke myself up when I saw it was six o'clock in the morning. I slowly rubbed my half-opened eyes as I saw the morning sun striking its rays outside Leiro's veranda, smiling and saying good morning to me. My, what a beautiful morning...

I yawned deeply, straightened my body first and straightened my hair before covering my whole face like a witch when I noticed that Leiro was still sleeping, but in an unusual way. He had some difficulty breathing as she closed her eyes. Luh, maybe he's doing something in his dream so I just let him. I just can't disrupt his dreams...

I slowly got myself up as I went to Leiro's mirror, took my hairbrush from my small drawer and constantly brushed my hair My... I still wanted to sleep with Leiro, but I have a job now so I have to be early or else Prof. Seth might scold me.

"Oh my goodness, May, get the thermometer in the first aid kit of madams in their room! You, Sue, get a basin of water and a face towel and do hurry up! Rose, an some hot soup for Leiro pronto! Celina and Velvet, join Rose in cooking the soup, okay? Linda, please call Madam and Sir to let them know that Leiro has a fever so that if he doesn't get better, we'll take him at the hospital. Lina, take the medicine for the fever from the medicine kit on the first floor near the living room, and please hurry up!

My jaw dropped at what manang Fae was saying. My, she's really serious... She's the head maid here inside Leiro's mansion... And it seems like she already knows what to do when Leiro is sick... My, I envy Lei.

I've already cooked your breakfast in the dining room." I slowly bowed when I remembered that. But I feel like it looks like Leiro really needs me now...

"Assistant Commander Lou Nylei Damandre reporting for duty sir!" I smile at Prof. Seth but deep inside, I'm still thinking about Leiro's condition now.

"Oh Lou, glad you answered. I've been calling you three times but it seems like you're busy." Prof. Seth told me when I saw three missed calls appear in my notifications. Eep... Why can't I feel the vibration of my smartphone?

"I-I'm sorry Prof. Seth! It won't happen again, I swear!" I answered immediately through my phone, but he just ended up giggling.

"Good. Anyways, how's Mr. Leiro doing? It's been three days since his disorder leveled up. Did you find any unusual situations regarding his health?" Prof. suddenly asked me. Seth as I just told him the truth.

"Nothing has changed Prof. Seth. It's just that ... Leiro is burning with fever now so I haven't been able to answer your calls before." I told him the truth- in fact, I didn't even answer Prof. Seth because I'm thinking about Leiro's situation right now.

"Hmm ... A fever eh? That's strange." Prof. Seth said as I suddenly raised my eyebrow. "Alright then. Change of plans. I'll ask Briella to take your place this time. You can come back here as soon as Leiro feels better, do you understand?" Suddenly Prof. said that I almost let go of my smartphone.

"Okay Professor. Lou Nylei Damandre, logging out..."

Hey... That call made me really happy- now I can watch Leiro! Yay! I hurried inside Leiro's room when I saw Manang Fae slowly wiping Leiro's left hand with a face towel soaked in the basin of water.

"Oh dear, why aren't you eating yet? Don't you have a job now?" Manang Fae asked me when I noticed she was a bit surprised when I came back.

"Don't worry Manang Fae. Our Prof told me to take time off from work to watch over Kuya Lei. He's okay too." I smiled as I watched how manang Fae wiped Leiro's hand and arm. "Manang Fae, can I help you with that?"

"Are you sure son? You might not be able to because of the size of sir Lei's body." Manang Fae told me, but I just chose to smile as a sign that everything is okay with me.

Well, Manang Fae didn't say a word when she gave me the face towel and stood up from her seat. "I'll leave you here, ma'am Lou, okay? I'll just see if the soup of those three is well made in the kitchen." Manang Fae told me as she slowly closed Leiro's door slowly.

Well, Leiro and I were the only ones inside when I slowly sat on the bed and wiped Leiro's right hand.

"L-Lu-n-ne-ly..."

It's just in Leiro's voice that you really notice his weakness now. Well, I can't deny- just reading the thermometer next to him, it's really obvious how high his fever is. It's really 38.9°C...

"Brother Lei ... I'm here okay? I will never leave you." I smiled at him as I now wiped his left arm.

The sadness embedded on his face when he said that. Maybe he's trying to say that because of his fever, I was forced to stay- I mean not because I was forced to but ...

Leiro couldn't speak much as he just gave me a smile instead. He finally closed his eyes while I just continued to wipe his arm ...

"Manang Fae, I'll take care of feeding brother Leiro." I smiled and said that to Manang Fae when she just petted my head as if I were a small child.

"All right. Just be careful with the soup, okay? Just tell me when you need anything else." Manang Fae just smiled at me as she slowly went out from the room.

I slowly picked up the spoon next to the bowl when I noticed Leiro smiling at me.

"Why are you smiling brother? Do you have any problem?"

"N-Nothing ... I-I'm just happy that you're here." Leiro's voice is still a bit weak but I kinda understand what he wanted to say.

"Aww ... Stop joking around brother..." I jokingly told him when I slowly scooped the some soup while blowing because it was still a bit hot. "Now, say ahh..."

I slowly brought the spoon of soup to Leiro as he slowly ate it. Hey ... How lucky of you Lei, you have a caring wife- I mean a little sister.

"Yay! Kuya is eating!" I smiled at him in a cute way so that he would be happy. Well, I'm his wife- I mean her little sister so it's my responsibility to pampered him like the way he always pampering me.

"Here's the last one! Yay!" I smiled at him as he finished eating his soup. My, I feel like a mother feeling happy after seeing my child finishing his meal.

I slowly wiped her mouth with the tissue on the tray. Leiro, on the other hand, just looked at me with his teary eyes.

"Brother? Are you crying?"

"N-Nah ... I-I'm just ... Happy." He smiled at me as he tried to wipe away the tears that were about to fall from his eyes. "I-I'm just happy because you're here, L-Lunely ..."

"Aww ... Don't be like that brother." I smiled at her as I tried not to cry either. "I'm happy to help you brother, and just seeing you happy, made me really relieved and lively."

He tried reaching his arms to me- he wanted me to hug him. Hehe ... Well, I just gave him a warm hug he wanted to ... Hayy ... If only hugs could heal.

Well, Leiro just nodded and smiled as he slowly took the medicine along with the lukewarm orange juice that Manang Fae mixed for him as I slowly wiped his mouth once again.

He slowly lay down as he slowly closed his eyes. I gently arranged his blanket and kissed his forehead. I arranged what he ate and put it all on the tray and slowly went out from his room.

Well, it seems like I did my best. As I slowly closed the door, I quickly smiled at him while saying these words:

"Get well soon brother Lei, okay? I love you..."
