*Chapter 06: Rivalry

Lunely's PoV

Rrriinnnggg!!!

"My, Leiro's alarm clock rang so early today..."

I slowly opened my eyes and turned his alarm clock off. It's a little early because it's four o'clock for me. I looked out of Leiro's window when I saw it was still dark outside... I didn't even see the moon shining as well as the stars. Wait, why did the time fly so fast?! I haven't even felt Leiro's hugs on me yet... Hmph. How unfair.

I stretched out my arms as I simultaneously yawned. I moved a little to the middle of the bed when I saw Leiro sleeping soundly as he hugged me. He's lying sideways, he's about two inches close to my face, he's not snoring though, but I can feel the warmness of his breathing-

Yikes! It's as if I'm going to melt- it's only now that I've realized how close Leiro's face is to me! I tried to cover my face because I feel like I'm embarrassed by just looking at him. My face was red that time, I was a bit shaking not because of the aircon but because I was a bit tensed, as I felt that Leiro suddenly moved a bit. Calm down myself, calm down!!

"Hmm... Lunely? Did something happen?" I tried peeking between my fingers as I saw Leiro staring at me, with curiosity written all over his face. He covered his mouth once yawning and asked again. "I guess you woke up early today eh?"

"I-It's your alarm clock, Lei. Sorry..." I spoke softly as I just stood up calmly from Leiro's bed and fixed my hair a bit. "I didn't know you always woke up at four o'clock."

"Sorry if I made you disturbed by my alarm. I have classes at six o'clock so I need to wake up early. Welp, I guess time travels so fast. It's like I only slept for an hour. But anyways, good morning Lunely." He smiled once again while patting my head at the same time.

My... This feeling... The way Leiro touched my head, it seems like I want to sleep again... I feel like my day will be lucky now that my lucky charm just smiled before me.

"Are you sure about this Leiro? Do I need to come with you?" I crossed my arms as I sat in a tsundere position inside my Dad's car. I was wearing my office uniform- though it looked a bit like a female school uniform with a green tie on it, green sleeves embedded with dark blue net patterns, a green skirt with dark blue net patterns, white long socks, and black shoes. And we should not forget our pigtails as well.

"Cheer up, Lunely. You can go back home after you visit my school. I just want you to be familiar with where I always study every day. And besides, remember your promise yesterday, right?" He said to me as he smiled at me, revealing his cheerful personality once again. Well, I have no choice, anything might happen if I don't follow him. I promised to take his orders for a day and I can't just deny it.

After several minutes, Dad gently stopped the car near a large blue gate that could only be seen on the side of the road. There are also tall buildings inside, and it is Leiro's school because "Central Naipass University" is engraved on the top of the gate.

I was surprised that the style of the women's uniforms was the same as the uniform I'm wearing now, except for the color since they're wearing green ties. Leiro, on the other hand, had the same uniform as the others, a white male uniform covered with a dark green plain vest with a green tie, as well as black slacks and black school shoes.

They also have their IDs with green laces, although Leiro has a gold one and some of the male students do as well- this is proof that they are ESCD patients.

As Leiro slowly went out of the car, a scary feeling suddenly enveloped me. This feeling- if I'm right, something bad will happen today so I have to be alert...

"Good morning Lei!"

A girl's voice caught my attention- I slowly went out to find out who it was, and I saw a girl, probably the same age as Leiro, though shorter.

She kept running while carrying a black school bag by her side as her blonde pony-tailed hair continued to dance and her brown eyes simultaneously sparkled as she placed her hands behind her back as if she were a cutie.

"Oh, good morning Meryl."

Oh, so she's Meryl? Hearing the way she greeted Leiro, I think they're just childhood friends-

"The heck?!" I suddenly shrieked when Meryl suddenly ran towards Leiro and hugged her- and in front of me?! How dare you hug my crush in front of me like that?!

"Hey! Get off from my brother, will you?!" Suddenly I told him as I tried to separate the two of them. Meryl quickly gave a curious face as Leiro suddenly laughed at my reaction.

"Oh yes, sorry Lunely. I haven't told you about her, have I? She's my childhood friend, Merylie Delgado, or just simply Meryl for short." Leiro smiled as he introduced Meryl to me, but I ignored it. My day was ruined today because of her, thank you very much... And I can't forgive her- I mean ever.

"Meryl, this is my cute little sister, Lou Nylei Damandre, or just Lou for short. She came with me today so she can see our school." Leiro smiled at him as I suddenly raised my eyebrow.

Wait, what? So he can pronounce my name correctly, right? Then why is he calling me Lunely? I've been sick of calling me that- it's embarrassing, you know?

"Oh, so you're Lou Nylei! I heard about you from my little sister Yusarine. I also heard that you're going to be Lei's sister for a month- congratulations." Meryl happily said as she smiled at me. Hmph, do you think we'll be friends? Duh! Like that will happen!

"Oh yes, she's Yusarine's sister, if you don't know. She's studying here with me, and Yusarine studies in Naipass Middle School." Leiro suddenly said to me as I realized something- wait, aren't Yusarine and Leiro cousins? So that means, they're blood-related?

"So, shall we go inside? We'll be late for today if we won't go in." Leiro asked as he looked at the two of us. Meryl happily nodded but I just rolled my eyes and I just followed them inside the school.

"I can't take this anymore!"

My mind screamed as I watched Leiro and Meryl as we walked. My fists clenched as my heart and soul filled my anger and misery- I thought you were related through blood and flesh? Then why are you like a leech sticking to crush huh? How dare you, you insolent bi-

"Hey, Lunely? Why are you in the back? Here, you should hold my hand so you won't get lost, okay?" Leiro said as he suddenly reached his hand out for me. Aww, so touching...

Meryl slowly let go of Leiro when we got to the inside of their school as I just was smitten since Leiro was still holding my hand. But I'm his little sister, right? So there will be no problem even if we are holding each other's hands. Everyone will think we're in a sibling-bonding moment so there's nothing to worry about.

As the three of us walked on the walkway, everyone started to whisper, although it seemed like I could hear what they were saying.

"Guys! Do you know that girl?

"Yay, she's soo cute!"

"Oh, she just looked like a doll!"

"Eeehh! I wanted to squish her face!"

"Wait, and they siblings?"

"I think they're couples. They're really sweet while holding their hands..."

"They're a perfect couple-"

Stop right there, my innocent mind- so they think that Leiro's my boyfriend? C'mon now everyone, you're making me blush! That's too much for your gossip okay... Take it easy- I mean, just think we're siblings, not like that!

Meryl suddenly waved goodbye to us- it seems like Leiro and her have different rooms. That's a relief. From what I know, Leiro's currently in 10th Grade, STE Section, while Meryl, I think she's two sections away from my crush so I should not worry about her now.

"This is my room, Lunely. If you want to come in, it's fine. I'm sure Ms. Lena, our adviser, will also understand that you're here." Leiro suddenly let go of my hand as he opened the door of his room.

Seconds passed, and Leiro's very noisy room suddenly fell silent as they saw the two of us. They stared at me for a few seconds and then they suddenly shrieked.

"She's soo cute!"

I mean- what the heck ?! Why, in all probabilities, are Leiro's classmates all females?! I thought this is an STE section so there must be a lot of men here, right? So why the heck is Leiro the only boy here in this classroom?! Is this... a war for me?!

"Good morning everyone. This is my new little sister, Lou Nylei Damandre. But you can call her Lou if you want." Leiro smiled as he introduced me to his female classmates, as they immediately ran to greet me.

"Good morning Lou! Welcome to our classroom!"

"My gosh! You're really cute!"

"Sorry to admit but I'd like to pinch you on your cheek!"

"My, my... It's my first time seeing a cute girl like you!"

"T-Thank you..." I was shy at that time since they were still new to my eyes, although I tried asking Leiro about this thing.

"Um, Lei? I just want to ask... Why are your classmates all girls? Don't you have any male classmates or something?" I asked him while his classmates were still busy giving comments about my cuteness. I'm tired of being a cutie.

"Oh yes, most of my male classmates failed their final performance test last 9th grade. Seven of us are here, to be honest, then we have eighteen girls, but after the performance test, two males and only fifteen females are left. Meryl used to be my classmate, but she failed as well. My other male classmate transferred to another school week ago, that's why I'm the only man here." Leiro winked at me as if it was okay for him to be surrounded by fifteen female classmates in the room, but this is quite unfair- having a secret harem like that!

And this is truly hilarious- fifteen versus one ?! How can I be able to win about this?! I mean, I'm not sure they all have feelings for Leiro but still, I shouldn't let my guard down. They'll attack anytime soon so I shouldn't leave Leiro alone here.

"Hey, Lunely? If you want to go home, you can do so if you want... Our class is about to start and I don't think you have much to do here-"

"Stop right there Lei. I'll be staying here, period." I immediately said as I pouted and crossed my arms as his female classmates continued praising my cuteness... Hmph. Do you all think I could be affected by that? Over my dead body!
