Volume 2 Chapter 1 Eastern continent

Far east is the land of virtue, a land of beauty and life. Living things are calm and peaceful here because no enemy would kill them.

" Master, look what I have made."

A young teenager handed an origami to the elderly man who was smiling gently at her. His face was wrinkled, showing his age to others, but he still had light in his eyes.

" Young Lua made a good origami. I will keep this in my room."

The elder said while patting her head. His old hand was shining mysteriously. It was warm and gentle light that calmed every soul it touched.

" Master, you should rest. Big brother Kun will come soon. He said he would bring candy to me."

Lua spoke with a delighted look on her face. Although she was 15 or 16 years old teenager, she was a kind and naive child.

The elder stroke his beard, laughing heartily at her look. He took out a piece of candy from his sleeves.

" Here, this is my last."

The master said while handing candy to her. Lua took it with a delighted expression as she thought about the taste of this rare food.

Swoosh*

Suddenly, the leaves around them bustled. The master slightly creased his eyebrows as he forced a smile on his face.

" Lua, get back to your room and wait for your brother. I will have to deal with a few rogue chankas."

He said gently, pushing Lua to her room. However, his eyes weren't calm like his tone. He was slightly nervous about Lua who was powerless against his enemies.

Lua looked at her master with confusion since it was a mid-day. She had to do her routine, but she obeyed her master's words since the temple masters were out of the temple. Only her master remained here and that made him the highest-ranking person.

The elder looked at his student's back with reluctance. He took a deep breath as he made several hand gestures.

" Shari'a fuse'e luo!"

He mumbled a mantra in his mouth. The surrounding area around him turned into some kind of barrier that insulated sound and vision.

Swoosh*

Several shadows darted out from the bushes at extreme speed. They appeared in front of them with no hesitation.

" The order wants your body. You have violated the sacred law of the ancients. We will take you to the court."

The man said coldly. His whole face and body were covered with fabric, blocking his look. His hand was resting on the hilt of his sword.

" I understand. I will accompany you, but you have to guarantee the safety of my students. They did no wrong."

The elder said while clasping his mala. His expression was filled with sadness and regret which indicated he was indeed guilty.

" They shall be unharmed. Let's go!"

He spoke indifferently, gesturing him to the unknown portal on the wall. This portal wasn't glamorous as a normal portal, instead, it was full of black substances that were bubbling and hissing.

This door was known as the gateway to hell in the Eastern continent. No one managed to return after entering this portal. It was the last direction of those who were damned.

" Goodbye, my students."

The elder spoke with a gentle smile on his old face. He gently put down his mala as he walked towards the portal. The shadow guard tried to pick up the mala, but the leader shook his head.

" Leave his legacy to his students. Although he is a criminal, he was the greatest monk in Haasha mountain where the greatest monks were born. He is the pride as well as stain of our history."

He said with a serious face. The guard nodded at his words and silently followed him.

Jing*

The mala made a single sound as it lost its beautiful color. The mantra inscribed on its beads slowly turned white. It was the last gift for his students along with his items.

5 hours have passed since the elder had left the order. The temple was a little chilly since it was getting late. Lua opened her door to find the elder. She was bored of chanting mantras over and over.

" What are you doing?"

Suddenly, a single voice came out from the entrance of the shrine. It was a young man with a gentle face and black hair. His hair was tied neatly behind his head. He was holding a sword that was way longer than 1m. He was holding a bag filled with groceries and herbs. Moreover, he was carrying a giant chicken behind his back.

" Where is the master?"

He asked with curiosity since his master always welcomed him every day.
