Chapter 58 Distraction
" Vor'tax! The serpent of gluttony."
She recalled her name. It was bestowed by the beings that lived deep in the nowhere. They were the rulers of nowhere and beings that had high intelligence to rival the greatest celestials.
They weren't dictated by their desires to survive or adapt, they were beings that went beyond the horizon of evolution as they were the embodiment of perfection.
"Roar!"
She rotated her huge body to avoid the attack as well as absorb the life force beneath her body. As a predator she hunts preys more than her age. She was the peak hunter.
The creatures from nowhere had one peculiar ability and that was devouring. Unlike adaptability which is her unique ability, devouring is more in line with her birth. Therefore, it had limits that couldn't be overcome with her adaptability.
"!"
Suddenly, a scorching fire with chilling ice hit her from both sides, enraging her. She felt pain through her body but she was used to it. As long as she devoured the force around her, she would live like always.
However, the creature forgot one thing. Humans can think like her and create plans to counter creatures like her. Despite being the weakest race among the intelligent race, they managed to survive and dominate the entire planet due to their persistent trials.
They were creatures that bloomed under the stress of destruction and the motion was set as Licht saw her weakness.
" Daemon, can you throw it into the air? She is absorbing the energy beneath us."
His word woke their senses up as they regained their hope. There was still a chance and Licht knew it. Hence, they had to gamble against their fate.
" I can't do it alone. I need help."
Daemon spoke loudly, showing helplessness in this situation because this creature was clearly several tons and he was nowhere in condition to lift it.
" We got you. Do your thing, boy! Just signal us."
The big inquisitor said to him whilst taking off his shoulder pads. The inquisitors surrounded her along with Daemon who was trying to pin her down with their strength but each moment they were losing their energy to her.
" Now!"
Licht signaled them to throw her up as he placed his hands together. A huge mana revolved around his body as others began to notice his change.
" Agh!"
The creature's body had corrosive ability, so the lifters were injured badly by her body fluid, but even so they lifted her which was struggling on their arms because she didn't think they would lift her.
Their flesh and muscles burned from her fluid even so they believed in him.
" Fools!"
Xerxei mocked them for this foolishness, thinking it was impossible to kill her. Although Licht was using great magic, he doubted it would hurt her much less kill her.
" I am not trying to kill it."
Licht turned his head around, smiling gently under his horrid gaze. The serene look of his eyes filled with enlightenment scared Xerxei who thought he had won. No matter how hard he tried to deny it, the look in his eyes wasn't the eyes of the defeated person.
" Earth Seal! Divine chains!"
The chains made of light imprisoned the serpent in the air as dark obsidian rock covered her body, but the creature struggled with her immense physical body hers, so the chains were cracking due to the pressure.
" I will help you!"
Cynthia and Agam joined their mana to hold her off whilst Qattara took the inquisitors away from her body. She saw their burned arms, dangling wimpy next to their bodies as they panted with pain.
" You will probably lose your arms."
She muttered quietly under their gazes, feeling helpless in this situation. She exhausted her power prior to this and she couldn't use her divine power. If she could do it, she would have saved their arms.
" Doesn't matter. We have to seal it."
Rammes shook his head weakly, knowing it was inevitable. He silently stood up from the ground while chanting calmly.
" The gods above the heaven, please guide this lost lamb to banish this unholy creature."
The light of the sun poured down to the desert as they saw the being coming down with a sword.
