Chapter 40 Wait and strike

" Then we have no choice. First, we will wait for Licht who should be coming here soon. Second, the captain and Leah should try his water. He might spill some beans when he is trying to seduce you."

Mikael said without any hesitation despite knowing the harsh truth behind his words. However, the duo didn't mind his words because they were used to it. When they lived in the North, they learned many useful skills including infiltration and espionage.

" Girl, find a young man with platinum hair. He has burning eyes that seem to be on fire and he is traveling with a beautiful woman and a bulky man. You must find him and relay our words. Don't worry about his strength, he is much stronger than anyone in this city, including the knight captain."

Regina gave her a paper with her signature as she burned her face to her memory. She believed this girl was clever enough to find Licht and she also trusted Licht. There was no way he would have died in this desert and he would be able to figure out where they were with his intellect.

" I understand miss. I will find the brother and pass it to him."

She assured her with confidence as she returned to the hole which she was able to enter and leave.

Licht took the paper and confirmed it had a signature because there was no way that others would copy her elegant writing skills.

Perhaps only expert artists and writers would do that, but who would be willing to do that?

" You are a brave child. Thanks to you I understand what is happening."

Licht praised her with honest evaluation. His eyes softened a little when he looked at the girl again because she reminded him of his little sister who was still in the Dark Forest. She was as smart and sharp as her despite not having gifts like her older brothers.

" What should we do now, Licht? It isn't simple if it is related to the lord. We might even fight against the cult."

Daemon folded his arms as he commented on his honest thought and he wasn't wrong. There was a high chance that they would face the cult in the upcoming battle, but Licht didn't fear him.

" Doesn't matter. We will infiltrate the castle and free the prisoners. By the time we got there, the captain should have found the evidence."

Licht understood a few days was plenty enough for Regina whom he believed one of the best detectives in the world. She would easily find out his secret if she was given enough time.

" True. Let's go then."

Lisha opened her mouth, putting her bow back as she got up from her seat. Time wasn't on their side after all.
