Chapter 34 Qi

" Qi? Well, that is possible if it is you since you don't have any talent in mana. Although the same doesn't apply to your martial arts talent, you can't be too sure that qi would suit you. Besides, many masters had refused to teach you, right?"

My teacher spoke, folding his arms with clear displeasure on his face. As he said before, I had great talent in martial arts, but my mana capacity wasn't able to reach my overwhelming martial arts talent and you could say it was impossible to change my mana capacity even if you rank up your mana level. Thus, the teacher taught me a way to cope with it and that was qi.

Unfortunately, he couldn't teach me about qi because he didn't have any idea about its property. He was a mana user, not a qi user, so he sought after countless eastern people to teach me qi, but every single of them refused him.

" Forget about it. He probably wouldn't teach this brat anything since they treasure their method so much that they are even willing to die for it."

Ringmaster yawned, laying on the couch in boredom. He grabbed the grapes, throwing them into his mouth and suddenly he got up from the couch with some sort of idea on his mind. He grabbed me by my collar, dragging me through the halls while humming his favorite song. He seemed to be excited about something that was in his mind, probably about me.

" Boy, I changed my mind. You might be able to learn qi from him, but you have to promise me one thing."

He said, halting his movement for a moment to look at me seriously. I swear that I have never seen that expression on his face. He was looking at me with belief.

" You must inherit my arena after me and help the slum like your father."

He spoke without any expression on his, but I could tell he was hiding something from me. Something terrible that even he had to make sure that he had heard my promise.

How could I refuse that? He was my benefactor and uncle-like figure to me. Besides, he never harmed anyone under his command and the arena wasn't deadly as another arena. Many were fed thanks to his contribution to the district, though it wasn't clean money.

" Do you think he will teach me, old man?"

I asked, trying to masquerade my trembling heart from his eyes, but my lie couldn't escape from his eyes. He silently patted my head while waiting for the eastern master.

We didn't wait long as he finished the fight with ease. He was holding a bundle of tickets that he needed to exchange with money at the entrance. The arena coped with ticket infringement with this type of system, so one could easily distinguish between real and fake tickets because no one couldn't copy an exact ticket due to this step.

He stopped his movements and looked at me with indifference in his eyes. I could feel the immense pressure from him, but surprisingly he didn't attack me.

" You must be the ringleader, sir. How can I help you?"

He asked politely, bowing to the old man with a traditional bow. Most of the easterners didn't follow this tradition due to their rough situation or temper, but this man seemed to be rather polite than he looks.

" Polite fellow, huh?! Well, this makes things easy. If I am right, you must from the righteous alliance of the eastern kingdoms."

The old man said, judging from his attire. The righteous alliance isn't part of the eastern continent as they are located in the east of the Western continent. They were honorable warriors that chose justice and honor over their greed.

The man was surprised to hear the ringleader's words since there were only a few people who truly knew about Eastern countries due to their extreme location.

" My name is Lee Yon. I am a former member of the Falcon Guards. How can I help you, sir?"

He clasped his hands while raising his head to look at this. I could see the fire in his eyes. He was just like me, a man with strong sense of duty while having strong ambition.
