Chapter 32 The boy and the girl

Time had passed away since they had meeting Regina walked out from her igloo. She put her rifle on her back and strengthened the rope. Her eyes focused on the members of her squad.

They were ready to receive her order and so did the other squad because she was appointed as the leader of this mission.

" Let's proceed to the ice cliff and meet with them. Blue Lions will be the vanguard and our squad will be the rear guard. Mikael, you have to position yourself because you are the only person who can snipe enemies if something unprecedented happens."

She said with a calm tone. Mikael saluted and went out earlier than them due to his role. He had to take the position before the icebergs arrive.

Regina nodded while looking at his back. She pulled down her hood and shouted.

" All units disperse now."

Swoosh*

Licht and others immediately separated themselves and proceeded to the mountain where they would meet. This mountain wasn't that far from their initial camp hence they could reach it in 10 minutes while using their mana.

The captain nodded at his units and raised his hand. They quickly formed an arrow formation with him on the lead.

Regina stood in the middle as she observed the topography. The mountain was a giant mountain that was covered in snow and ice unlike other mountains with trees. They could see everything in its vicinity thanks to its bare land. However, Regina didn't like this place.

It was a perfect ambush place for the iceborns and they could use this terrain more than them.

" What a troublesome place!"

She said while touching her rifle. The captain heard her words.

" Don't worry, we will battle to the death if it is necessary, but I don't think they would dare to attack us. We have 2 masters, 5 advanced and the rest of us are all intermediate level."

He Saud with confidence. His words were enough to calm her worried mind.

Regina took a deep breath and walked forward. The snow was reflecting sunlight which was good for her. She could see the fields around her with clear vision.

Swoosh*

Three shadows came out from the snow. They were three men with blue hoods covering their heads. There was no armor or weapons on their body, but Regina could feel the chilling air beside them.

" We were instructed to receive the guests from the kingdom. You may follow us."

They said with indifference in their tone while taking look at them. They were trying to gauge their strength otherwise it would be problematic if they decide to fight.

The captain sighed as he handed his sword to show his intentions. Three men halted their movements as one of them went to him. They placed their hand on the sword.

" We understand. However, you must promise to be calm. Our delegate isn't a nice person."

He said with a cold look. The captain could his displeasure in his voice and guessed the ambassador might be an unpleasant person. He nodded whilst putting his sword down.

Meanwhile, Licht and Cynthia were grouped. They were careful watching them from afar thanks to Cynthia's auxiliary magic.

" Lili, look at their clothes. Aren't they cold?"

She said with curiosity because she never saw iceborns before. Her eyes beaming with a big question mark inside.

Licht sighed when he heard this. He placed his hand into his pocket and took out some gummies which he made from the berries and bones secretly.

Push*

He pushed them into her mouth while glaring at her.

Nom, nom*

Cynthia felt sugar in her mouth. It was delicious and exquisite. The sugar perfectly matched the berry taste.

Hum*

She was immediately distracted from her work as she sucked them. She tilted her head and saw Licht looking at her with a warning.

" We have to be silent in this terrain otherwise our voices would create an echo or cause an avalanche."

Cynthia nodded her head as she extended her hand. Licht sighed and handed his remaining gummies. He didn't know it was a good idea to partner with her. She was too naive and inexperienced, also she acts like a child.
