Chapter 19 Prophecies

The female general walked into a room filled with the aroma of sweet wood similar to agarwood which was expensive and rare since they were shipped from the East. Thus, the person who was using this as a burning incense must be extremely wealthy.

Knock*

She opened the door and saw an old man smoking while reading a book in his hand. His murky eyes were looking at the book with interest despite her presence. This didn't offend her because even though she wanted to kill him, it was impossible to touch him without his consent.

" Little princess Jocylee. You must be here for the queen who is poisoned yesterday. If you want my wisdom, spare your words for I cannot help you this time."

He said gently, flipping the pages under the watchful eyes of her. Jocylee took off her hat, sitting on the couch with a tired expression.

" Uncle, I need you as the strongest and wisest mage in the country. Please tell me a way to save Jenna. Your cousin Rainheat needs your assistance."

She begged for his help, believing he would help her if she begged with her utmost. However, the old man didn't move. The sigh escaped from his mouth because he knew this would come eventually. As an archmage who uses star energy to conjure magic, he was closely related to time and space. He saw the future where the kingdom would fall and the dead would rise from the ground. He knew it was inevitable and he had no power to change or save anyone.

" Child, you can't save you or him. The only thing that I could do is guide you to the cure, but remember this would cost you huge."

He warned her while giving her a map and a key somewhere. Jocylee immediately knew her next location, but this made it even harder for her. As a high-ranking general, she couldn't visit a free state without any notice.

" Will you leave like this, uncle? The king needs you as I do."

She said lightly, showing her despair, but he didn't move an inch. She got up from her seat with no words, leaving empty trails behind her lonely back. The old man gritted his teeth, but fate had already decided on her. She had no way out and he had to leave here. His journey of atonement was starting as he had to travel through time to pay for his knowledge and karma.

He looked at his wrist and saw a shining time emblem on it. The stars were demanding him to fulfill his promise since he had done what he had to in this timeline, so he had to visit other places as an agent of them.

" May the starlight guide you, my children. I can't stand with you and I pray for your salvation."

He painfully closed his eyes. The light of mana fell to him, taking him into a stream of time where he would begin his new life.

Meanwhile in Hella

The king was pacing in his room from the morning because he was in a difficult situation due to a sudden report from his intelligence officers. They had said they saw suspicious movements in their rival Bastia. They seemed to be thinking to invade the city of Sins. Hence, he was in a difficult position because he didn't have his blessing power now.

The worry of his was plaguing his wisdom, thus forcing him into something terrible.

" Golla, summon our army. We will march to the city and protect them from the invasion."

The king ordered his right hand to summon his men for the defense of the city despite their recent battle. He understood they were tired, but there was no time to waste.

The general bowed his head down, retreating to the barracks once again. The order of the king was absolute and he didn't feel anything amiss in this situation. Although the young king was more peaceful than the last, he was still the cub of a tiger, so there was a little doubt, but that was only in his corner of mind. The most important thing to do now is to stop him before he burns the city.
