Narrator pov

The next morning, everyone was having their breakfast when Marvin came out of his room to join them at the dinner table.

"Good Morning everyone". he greeted them cheerfully and left to seat down, Elora and Kevin stare at him confusedly to see how cheerful he looks.

" How was your night dear?". nanny asked as she served him his breakfast.

"fine Nanny, yours?".

" it was fine, hurry up with your meal so that you won't get late for school". she said and sat down to eat. Marvin notices the confused look, Elora, and Kevin were giving him, he scoffs and started eating his breakfast...Some minutes later, they both arrived at the school gate, Elora greeted Mr. Duke at the gate and was about to take a step when Marvin called out her name from behind, she turn to him, and Marvin moved a little closer to her.

"Can I talk to you?"

"About what exactly?". she replied coldly and Marvin sigh.

" I want to apologize for the way I spoke to you, I didn't mean to call you that, am sorry". he said with his face bowed to the ground, and Elora stare at him not fully convinced if he is sincere or not.

"you know what Marvin, I don't need your apologies you can save them for the people you wrong and mean to, I don't need it, so, bye!" she walks away, Marvin stares after for a while, he tries to take a step when he noticed Mr. Duke staring at him with his mouth wide open in surprise, he turned to him. " you might wanna close your mouth, so flies won't get inside". he said and Mr. Duke quickly closes his mouth and also shocked on how politely he talks to him. he let a little smile and left to class.

"Did I hear it right or not? Did Almighty Marvin just apologize to his fellow students and also speak politely to me?". he sighs confusedly and went inside his office.

Marvin pov

During the class lessons, I wasn't feeling well, my body was aching and I couldn't understand what was wrong with me, I stood up to the gym after taking permission from the class teacher. I could feel my whole body vibrating and the headache was unbearable, I sat down with my head bowed, and then the lunch bell rang, I try to stand up, but I was so weak to move my body.

" gosh, what is wrong with you Marvin?". I grunt in pain quietly, suddenly I heard footsteps walking in and the sound of students laughing, immediately it stop, and it occurred to me that I was there, I heard murmuring, and they were about to leave, I stop them. " you guys don't have to leave, you can go ahead, the gym is all yours" I said and I feel they were in shock, I rest my head on the chair with my eyes closed and I noticed they were hesitating, I opened my eyes and saw them fidgety with their fingers and their heads bow to the ground. "aren't you guys here to work out? I said go ahead".

" Thank you". they chorus in fear and rushed to the other side, I sighed tiredly. I could still hear their murmuring.

"why will you say a thing like that, what if he yelled at us," 1st boy said.

"I don't think so, didn't you see the way he ask us to go on with the gym politely, I think we should ask what is wrong with him". 2nd boy said

" he doesn't seem fine to us, let's go and ask him what is wrong, "3rd boy said, just then I heard their footsteps, coming closer to me, and they stop, I turn my gaze to them weakly and I could see fear in their eyes. " um, we didn't mean to disturb you, we just wanted to ask if you are okay," he said

"am fine". I replied weakly turning my face to the other side.

" but you don't look fine to us, we will suggest you go to the school clinic, it looks like you got a fever". the boy in their middle said.

"yes, and we can help you there if you feel weak to go ". the other boy said and I turn my gaze back to them.

" you guys don't have to, I will be fine, don't worry about me ".

" We know you don't need our help, but we insist, you don't look okay, or do you want us to call Elora over". he said, and before I could say another word he has already sent one of the boys out to go and call Elora.

Elora pov

I was having lunch with Nathan and a few other students sitting with us, and it occurs to me, that Nathan had made a few more friends, we were laughing and chatting when suddenly a student ran towards me panting a little, everyone was surprised.

"what's wrong with you man? who is after you?" Nathan asked.

"no one, but I am here for Elora". he answered

"Why? Am I in trouble?". I asked

" no, but your attention is needed at the gym, I was informed to call you because Marvin doesn't seem fine at the moment,".he said and I rolled out my eyes.

"Really? How is that my problem? As you can see, I was having my lunch, so, if you don't mind". I said and resume my food.

" It's urgent you know". he said.

"he is right, you should go and check it out". Nathan said.

" why? I don't care about him, he can go to hell for all I care". I said unlikely.

"you don't have to pay evil with evil, he might be in the worst situation right now that needs urgent help, remember he was the one that rushed you to the school clinic the other that you passed out, sorry I didn't tell you". Nathan said I sigh and then turn to the boy.

" where is he?".I asked

"at the gym". he replied, and I stood up to follow him behind including Nathan. When we arrived at the gym, we saw him resting on the chair with his eyes closed, I moved closer to him and feel his forehead, he was indeed not feeling well, and his temperature was high, I try to remove my hand from his forehead when he quickly held my hand and open his eyes, I could see how weak and pale he looks.

" What are you doing here?" he asked weakly staring at me.

"you are not feeling good Marvin, you need to go to the school clinic". I said and he let go of my hand.

" Am fine, you don't need to worry about me or act like you care". he said and I scoff

"I literally don't care about you at all, but I am not as heartless as you are toward people that are sick, you need urgent attention". I replied nonchalantly.

" she is right Marvin, let's take you to the school clinic so that the doctor can treat you". Nathan said and I could see the hard look Marvin was giving him, but Nathan seems to care less. After enough persuading, we decided to help him to the school clinic and the doctor started attending to him, we sat down in the corridor waiting.

"thank you for helping me out with him," I said.

"is okay, I'm glad I can help, we know Marvin can be stubborn and childish sometimes".

" yeah, and I hope he changed".

"he will". we smile at each other... a few hours later, I fell asleep on Nathan's shoulder while waiting for the doctor, and not too long I woke up and saw Nathan smiling at me. " did I wake you?"

"er, no, am sorry I fell asleep on your shoulder".

" is okay". he said and then the doctor came over.

"How is he, doctor?". I asked.

" he is doing fine, he just had a minor fever, I have given him some drugs so he will be fine". the doctor said.

"oh, that's a relief". I said, suddenly, we heard the sound of cars driving into the school clinic, I stretch out my neck from the window and saw it was Marvin's grandfather's car, the guards open the door for him and he came down and another car was opened as his mother came down and I notice a man of late forty, tall with an athletic body, he was a similar resemblance of Marvin, no one can deny it that it was his father, I wonder who call them and the doctor said he was the one, I could see the tension in everyone eyes immediately they enter the clinic, all eyes were on them, the whole place was guarded by guards.

" Doctor, how is my son?"Mrs soma asked tensely

"he is doing better for now?" he replied with a smile.

"I want him transferred to the family hospital immediately!." Mr. Monk said with some much authority in his voice and the doctor obeyed without hesitation.

"Can we see him now?". the man beside Mrs. Soma asked and the doctor lead all of them in.

" I think I will be on my way now". Nathan said.

"Okay, I will see you tomorrow, thank you for your help".

" you are welcome". he said and left and I waved at him before going inside to join them. Immediately I entered I saw the sad looks on their faces Marvin was sleeping peacefully on the bed and a drip was fixed on him.

"I can't believe he falls sick, Marvin hardly falls sick". Mrs. Soma said, Paley.

" Maybe he was stressed out". he said and it was as if he noticed my presence, he turned in my direction with a warm smile. " you must be Elora,". I nod my head. "is so good to finally meet you".

" thank you, sir".

"Oh, please call me Mr. Derrick".

" Okay, Mr. Derrick" I replied with a smile.

"Hope you are good dear?". Mr. Monk asked

" yes sir, I'm fine".

Marvin pov

I could hear familiar voices in the room, I manage to open my eyes and I saw my mom staring sweetly at me while holding my hand tenderly, I look around and saw my dad and my grandfather in the room, they were all smiling including Elora whose face was expressionless.

"Mom, Dad, Grandpa! What are you all doing here?". I asked surprised.

" Finally you are awake son, am so happy". my mom said.

"We were informed that you were rushed to the school clinic because you were beaten down by fever". my dad said.

" Tell me, son, how are you feeling?".my grandfather asked.

"I'm feeling better, you all shouldn't have bothered yourself, it was just a minor thing". I said and then the doctor enter.

" you are awake, your transferred papers are ready, and you are good to go now". he said and I was confused.

"Transfer what?".

" yes son, I told them to transfer you to the family hospital for proper treatment". My grandfather said.

"why? I am fine already, doctor mark treats me very well here, so why should I be transferred to the family hospital, am better than I was some hours ago, I'm fine, is just a minor fever, come on Grandpa!" I said as I sat upright on the bed.

"is okay son if you don't want to go". my mom said.

" Okay, as you wish". my grandfather said.

"so doc. can I go home now?". I asked.

" yes, you are free to go, I have prescribed your medication, and you will finish the dosage, but you must be on bed rest for two days".

"two days? I can't be on bed rest for two days, our test is in two days". I muttered.

" it can be postponed, I will inform the prin-" I cut him short.

"no grandfather, I won't allow you to do that, you can't postpone everybody's test because of one person, students have studied hard for it, I won't let you do that". I said I could see the smile on my parent's faces including the doctor and Elora who was trying to hide it.

" Okay, but you can write yours at home".

"I still object to it, grandfather, one full day is enough for me to rest, right doctor?".

" yes, you are also right". he replied

"Okay fine". he said.

" thank you, grandfather".

"you are welcome son". he replied with a warm smile.

" That's my son". my mother said happily and I smile.
