Chapter twenty-Eight

Marvin pov

I sat on the balcony, staring at the lonely street with my sweet wine beside me, a lot of things were going through my mind, but Elora seems not to be convinced about my new attitude and it gave me sleepless nights, I keep thinking about her lately and I don't understand what I have been feeling lately and especially when she is too friendly with Nathan.

"get it off your head Marvin". I sigh and I got interrupted by Kevin.

" get what off your head?". he walks closer to me. "what's bothering you?".

" Nothing". I replied and he scoff.

"Really? You know, I don't believe you, Marvin, I know you are bothered about something, but your ego won't let you". he said and whispered in my ear. " the earlier you admit your feelings the better for you". I stare at him and he smirks at me.

"Stop saying silly things Kevin, what feelings are you talking about?".

" The feeling you have for Elora,".

"quit saying nonsense, you know that's not true, I don't have feelings for her".

" keep deceiving yourself, you like her, but your tiny Ego won't let you see it, she changes you ". he said and walked away and I let out a deep sigh.

The next day, I came out of my room heading towards the kitchen to get myself a glass of chilled juice because the weather is kind of hot today, I took a step forward with my head bowed to the ground and was busy chatting on the phone with my mom, suddenly I bumped into something making me lose my balance and I saw a familiar figure reeling forward almost fallen from the stairs, I quickly stretch my hand and grab on to her waist and pull her to myself, we both fell on the ground and her body was resting on me, I was caught off guard by beauty, I suddenly notice how her beautiful her eyes look when we interlock in each other eyes, everywhere seize for a moment and I couldn't help but stare affectionately at her and my heart started to beat fast, I suddenly grain myself and she stood up from my body.

"can't you watch where you are going?". she asked sassily and picked up the big box that fell from her hand.

"Am sorry, I was so lost on my phone". I replied as I stood up. "but are you okay?".

"yes".she sighed and turns to leave, I called her back.

'"What's inside the box?"I asked and she turns to me.

"it contains some decorations that will be needed at the prom night". she replied and she saw the confused look on my face. "wait.. you don't know about the prom night, do you?".

"not really, the prom is not my thing".

"it should be".

"Okay, if you say so, but you can be my prom date". I said and I was waiting for a positive answer.

"Really? Why?"

"How do you mean, am asking you to be my prom date".

"No, that's not possible".

"why?".

"Duh, can't you tell, am taken already".

"Really? Is it Nathan?". I asked already getting angry.

"yes of course, who else could it be". she smile.

"Okay, wish you luck with that". I said and walk away I could still notice her gaze on me and I heard her last words.

"what's up with him". she said.

Two days later.....

Elora pov

I was already dressed up for the promo night, I was wearing a pink flowering gown, I made my hair in a bonny tail, applied light makeup, and wore silver heels to match my purse, I was satisfied with my look.

"All set to go". I exhale and came out of my room and saw Nathan chatting with Kevin while Marvin was seating at the dining table, with no expression on his face and he was busy with his phone alongside with snacks. Suddenly, they notice my presence and turned in my direction.

" wow! You look beautiful dear". nanny said smiling

"Thank you, nanny," I replied and Nathan came towards me, he wasn't looking bad at all, he was in a white polo with a suit jacket and blue jeans alongside a pair of white sneakers and a silver waist watch.

"You look amazing". Nathan said as I wrapped my hand around his.

" I wish you two the best of luck ". Kevin said.

" thanks, bro". Nathan said.

"have fun". nanny said and we wave at them but before we leave I take a glance at Marvin who meant my gaze and turn away, I could see the anger in his eyes, we bid them goodbye and left.

Marvin pov

I couldn't control the anger I was feeling when Nathan came to the house and I suddenly wonder why I am feeling this way, I felt jealous and it all suddenly disappear when my eyes caught sight of Elora, she was so beautiful in the dress that I was drooling over her, but I have to control myself in order not to be embarrassed.

" Why didn't you go to the prom night?" Kevin asked as he sat in front of me staring straight into my eyes.

"Prom is not my thing". I replied.

"Really? Why don't I believe you? Why do I feel like you ignore going to the prom dance because Elora is out with Nathan rather than you ". he said grinning from ear to ear. I stare at him for a while and return my gaze to my phone. " so, you do! You should have asked her first before Nathan does, but is never too late, it can still happen some other time...so, tell me do you see how beautiful Elora looks earlier, wasn't she dazzling?". he said and I know he was trying to piss me off.

"Kevin, can you please leave me alone".

"How? I didn't hold you...wait, are you feeling guilty, because, I could see the sad and angry look on your face earlier when Nathan came over".

" you know what, you can have this dining to yourself". I stood up angry and walk away, I could hear him giggling.

Narrator pov

Some days later, Alice was getting ready for work when her cell phone rang, she saw the caller and let out a smile and then pick it up.

"Hello, Dora, how are you?". she asked excitedly, and Elora's mother's voice came through the other end.

" Am fine Alice, Hope you are fine?" She asked.

"yes, I'm so happy to hear your voice". Alice replied.

" me too". they chuckled.

"I was about to head out when your call came through".

" yeah, I just called to inform you that I will be coming for a visit next week".

"what! really? that's amazing, Elora will be so happy to see you" she said excitedly.

"Yes, me too, I miss her so much, but I want it as a surprise".

"Really?"

"yes, I want to surprise her, promise me you won't tell her?"

"I promise Dora, I won't, so when by next week?".

" I can't tell you, is also a surprise".

"Okay, if you say so, I can't wait to see you".

" me too, take care of yourself".

"you too". she hung up and sigh. "this is great". she picked up her bag and her car keys and left the building.
