The Examination

Days passed by as Nessia practised the Levitation Spell and ran extra laps after classes. It was April, one day before the exams. Sitting at her desk, Nessia looked at her classmates panicking because of the upcoming Levitation Spell Examinations.

Professor Lora conducted the classes as usual, making the class bored but they would always look forward to the end of the day. Since there will be duels, they would love it if they could be the winner.

''Nessia, try not to mess up and control my extra powers so nobody will notice it,'' Nessia thought, worried about herself just like the others. She was not an arrogant girl.

Ledia was really calm, like she was prepared for it. Nessia thought about the flames of the obstacles reaching to her feather like it wanted to eat the feather up and make Nessia fail the test. She was not going to let it happen.

And, after the afternoon classes passes, it was time for the duel. However, Professor Lora made everybody practise the Levitation Spell. That made Nessia relieved that she could have extra time practising.

Nessia had to run a few laps after dinner and practise even more.

''That's it, Nessia. I'm tired, and I even made the feather fly up to the ceiling, and also make it dodge moving objects. It's time to rest,'' Nessia thought and flopped onto her bed, and immediately went into a deep sleep.

The calm air filled Nessia's dorm room. By the time the alarm clock sounded, Nessia quickly got out of bed, prepared herself for school, or rather, exams, and ran to the hall half excited and half worried.

She saw chairs and some rings placed on the stage. It looks like the whole school will be watching the students being examined, which made Nessia feel even more nervous.

''As you know, students of Aslena Academy, today we will be testing you on how well you can use the Levitation Spell. By doing it perfectly, you'll be able to do other spells with ease!'' Principal Gloria announced.

The school cheered as the professors brought the seniors to their classes while the juniors stayed and some went on stage to be tested.

One by one, some students got their feather burnt while others had theirs slightly burnt. Nessia took deep breathes as she would be tested after a few students.

''Your feather is completely burnt out, fail,'' the examiner said as the student on stage felt embarrassed and quickly left the stage.

''There's some burn marks, and pass,'' the p nodded to Nessia's classmate, Dia and Dia walked back to her class with a ''Ha, beat that'' look to her class.

Nessia was next and the examiner told her to relax and lift the objects in order until she thinks that it's heavy, and the examiner will take down her score.

Levitating light objects was easy for Nessia. However, when she tried to levitate a medium-sized boulder, she said, ''That's my maximun.''

The examiner nodded, wrote down some words, and instructed Nessia to levitate the feather through fire obstacles. Nessia did it really slowly, paying attention to the safe areas where the feather could not be touched by the fire, and also rotated and tilted the feather so that it could make it through tight spaces.

When she made the feather through the obstacles, there was not a single burn mark around. ''Good job, pass,'' the examiner became impressed and let the next student come onstage.

Nessia sighed in relief and saw Professor Lora smiling, ''Nessia, I'm so happy for you!''

''Thanks, I couldn't have done it without you,'' Nessia smiled back.

The hard trainings were worth it.
