[29] "Reunion with someone from the past"

[A few weeks later]

"I think there's a confrontation nearby, I can feel the energy. The fighters' skills are decent," I think as I run across the rooftops.

Finally, I arrive at a building that has been destroyed and I stop at the top. There, I see a woman who looks quite exhausted fighting with a man.

"Oh... Trying to kill someone?" I ask aloud.

I carefully observe the female figure. "Rebecca? What are you doing here? You're not supposed to be in Canada."

"It's been several years since the last time I saw her. I realize she's an awakened one." Before I can say anything else, the figure on top of the building disappears.

Several attacks are launched towards a woman, and she exclaims,

"Shit!" As she turns around, she forms two dark blue spheres in her hands and throws them towards the attacks.

They collide with the spheres, being absorbed by them without exploding.

'I have to escape, I'm not at my best,' Rebecca thinks.

Behind her, a portal appears, and she takes a few steps back before entering it, disappearing from the location.

At that moment, a figure in black appears. "Can't you catch one person?" he says angrily.

"Apologies, sir, we will find her," one of his subordinates responds.

"It's not necessary, they are no longer useful," the figure replies.

Suddenly, he moves at an incredible speed, and in less than five seconds, all his subordinates have a hole in their heart area and fall to the ground.

The lone figure takes out a handkerchief and wipes off the blood dripping from his fingers.

With his eyes closed, the man murmurs, "If I don't do it, others won't be able to. The young master will be angry about the delay."

Suddenly, the man opens his eyes, and a bright light emanates from them.

Images of all the surroundings appear in his mind, and in the distance, he sees a woman running silently.

"I didn't plan on revealing myself, but considering the circumstances..." the man says in a low voice. Then, with determination on his face, he approaches the woman.

"I found you, you can't escape," the figure murmurs before disappearing from the scene.

[A few minutes later]

"I'M GOING TO KILL YOU!" Gao Feng shouts angrily.

Suddenly, Gao Feng leaps into the sky, and his body begins to change, transforming into a ten-meter-tall Western dragon.

Now, an imposing woman and a mighty dragon confront each other at the top of the building.

The Western dragon opens its mouth and unleashes an immense fire breath.

"As impulsive as ever," Rebecca comments sarcastically.

Rebecca smiles as a barrier forms around her.

The flame completely engulfs the barrier, damaging some nearby buildings, while in the sky, a dragon smiles.

"It must be easy to please the young master with someone like you," the dragon says disdainfully. "It's a great honor for a commoner like you."

Suddenly, a female voice is heard behind him. "Not bad for a servant."

Gao Feng turns his enormous dragon body to look at the surprised figure in the sky. Meanwhile, Rebecca raises her arms and forms an aura around her body.

He screams in pain, writhing as the hexagon keeps shrinking and pressing against him.

Finally, the dragon slowly starts to change back into his human form, dying crushed by the prison.

Rebecca descends from the sky and enters the destroyed building.

"Another one dead," she says indifferently.

From behind Rebecca, a series of applause can be heard.

"What an impressive show!" a young man with white hair is heard saying as he walks towards her.

Rebecca turns around in surprise upon seeing the approaching young man. "Who are you?" she asks with curiosity and concern.

The young man smiles and responds, "Who am I? Don't you recognize me?"

Rebecca stares at him intently, remembering. "Ares..." she says astonished.

"It's been so long. I see you're not going through a good time," Ares continues.

"Ares... I knew... I knew it was you, ever since you left without saying anything," Rebecca continues, her beautiful celestial eyes starting to fill with tears.

Ares gently strokes her head and calmly says, "Don't worry, I'm here. Let's leave this place."

"You made quite a scene, let's talk calmly in another location, and I'll catch you up," he adds.

Rebecca nods, and the two of them disappear from the scene, fading into the distance.

[In a hotel in China]

In a cozy room, two people face each other.

"So, you've been traveling around the world since you left?" Rebecca asked.

"Well, we were from different worlds. You were just a normal person," Ares replied, holding a glass of alcohol in his hand.

"It's quite surprising that you're an awakened one," he added.

"How did you end up here? Your parents should know how dangerous this world is," he asked curiously.

"Unfortunately, my parents were killed. When the Long family found out about my grandparents' death, they launched a brutal attack on my family," Rebecca explained with sadness.

"They exterminated everyone. I've spent two years trying to seek revenge, but I'm not strong enough. I've tried everything, but it's not enough," she continued, clenching her fists with anger.

"It's common in this world for power struggles to occur, and when someone possesses great power, their non-awakened descendants are considered inferior. Unfortunately, you crossed paths with your family's ancient enemies," Ares said in a reflective tone.

Rebecca looks closely at Ares and says, "When I heard your name in some rumors, I couldn't believe it was you. Someone I knew when you were a child had become an awakened one whom many people feared."

"Can you train me? I thought I could seek revenge on my own, but in the end, I realized how foolish I was. I've been alone and faced many dangers to become stronger."

"Mmm... You're lucky. I'm here because of the Long family. I'll stay in China for a few months, then I'll decide what to do," Ares said.

There's a moment of silence, and Ares speaks with a deep voice, "My training will be brutal, and you must be prepared." "Don't worry, I won't complain. I need to become strong,"

Rebecca confidently responds. "Good, I'll focus on training you this week, and then I'll look for the information I need," Ares said.

"If you need any help, I have a couple of contacts here in China. I can use them to help you find the information you need," Rebecca said.

"Don't worry. If I need you, I'll let you know," Ares said, standing up from his seat and walking towards an empty room. "Follow me, let's start your training."

"Now?" Rebecca asked.

"Yes, now. You said you were ready," Ares replied.

"I'm ready," Rebecca said, quickly rising from her seat and following Ares into the room.

[One week later]

Two individuals exchanged blows as they trained.

"Move faster, don't get distracted. You have to use your powers to your advantage," advised Ares.

"Your awakened abilities are incredible. Not many people awaken powers as unique as yours. If you develop them properly, you could become a very strong awakened individual, given the great talent you show," Ares continued.

"Let's call it a day," Ares said after a while.

"Phew... Phew... Yes," Rebecca responded with a tired voice, lying down on the floor and breathing heavily.

"You managed to endure this week of training, quite impressive. I thought you wouldn't be able to withstand it," congratulated Ares.

"It was hell," complained Rebecca.

"Hahaha, if you want to become strong, you have to give something in return," Ares pointed out.

"Mmm..." Rebecca nodded.

"Don't stop the circulation of your power. You must not waste any moment in becoming stronger," Ares said.

"Yes," Rebecca replied, sitting with crossed legs in a meditation position.

"You need to improve your power control even more. Your powers have to circulate through your body with the utmost efficiency. Focus on finding the best way for your powers to expend the least amount of energy," instructed Ares.

"Yes," said Rebecca, focusing on her power control.

Ares exited the room, leaving Rebecca alone.
