Chapter 14: A Holy Maiden

After the party, Mordred and his group were ushered by Sirzechs and Venelana because Zeoticus had to talk to the other devils.

"Thank you very much Mordred, it was nice seeing Rias be that happy. She has been quite affected by some matters after all." Venelana smiled at him softly.

Rias and the others were even reluctant to let them go due to how fun spending time with them was.

"You are welcome Venelana, Rias is one of my friends now after all. Though are other devil children really that weak? They're high class right?" Mordred asked bluntly.

Venelana and Sirzechs blinked, smiling wryly. Because even Shirone who is two years younger than them would definitely beat their ass even if they all ganged up on her.

"Hahaha, he's right you know? But Mo-kun, all pureblood devils that are in a clan are automatically high class. It is a classification of strength, but also status you know?" Tiamat cleared it up.

"Ahhh, I see. So Kuroka and I aren't ultimate class in status?" Mordred tilted his head in curiosity.

"That's right, though it doesn't really matter does it?" Tiamat ruffled his hair and he agreed.

Sirzechs and Venelana read into their conversation though. Both of them got alarmed by the implications. That Mordred is ultimate class at his age.

"H-how old are you again Mordred?" Sirzechs thought he was only a couple of years older than Rias. And Tiamat settled in the forest four years ago.

So he assumed that she must have asked for that place to raise him in a nice, quiet environment.

"I'm a year younger than Rias, a few months actually." Mordred answered.

"Ara..." Venelana uttered, not in the sexy way too. "It seems that I need to train Rias on her control of the power of destruction. Send her to me Sirzechs, I don't care about what your father says." Venelana felt that she would be living under his shadow if this continues.

"I'll inform their other friends too." Sirzechs sighed. Most beings can't even reach ultimate class in their centuries long life.

Heck, it took the current Satans centuries to do so. And a couple more again to achieve Satan class. Sirzechs and Ajuka then were spurred by the civil war to become stronger than ever.

"If that's all, then thank you for inviting us." Mordred said goodbye and they disappeared in a magic circle.

"What a little monster that kid is Sirzechs." Venelana had a wry smile, interesting her about what the hell was he doing and eating to get that strong.

"And he really is a dragon, so he's stronger than normal ultimate class beings. They're the pinnacle of mana after all. And with him being a Pendragon... I won't be surprised if he can wield holy swords." Sirzechs could imagine the headache if he turned into an enemy.

Not only will Tiamat become one. Not to mention his peerage that has four Longinus users too.

"Hah, at least I will see Rias more often. She needs more training. It is also important for her future rating game against Riser so she could cancel the engagement." Venelana rubbed her temples.

"That... I wish you would train her well." Sirzechs bowed. He couldn't do it himself, besides being busy. It would be seen as biased because he should be thinking of all the devils equally.

"Don't worry, Rias will be even better than you at using the power of destruction when you were at her age." Venelana chuckled.

Returning back home, Tiamat wondered if Mordred enjoyed himself. "How was it? Did you really like them?"

"Honestly, their company was enjoyable at least. I expected them to be pompous and arrogant. But their parents have raised them well." Mordred was pleasantly surprised.

"Yeah, they aren't like the old devils at all." Vali squinted her eyes, remembering her grandfather.

"Un, not like Naberius nya." Kuroka shrugged and Shirone was fine with them too.

"Come on, let's rest. It must have been tiring to be all prim and proper there." Tiamat smiled at them and they nodded.

"Not really, I am the king of knights. I should always be proper, mom." Mordred says as a matter of fact.

"You little, go on and rest." Tiamat gave him a noogie and they went to bed.

__A Few Months Pass__

Lavinia was now used to her draconic body. She proved to be a genius at magic, her study of primordial magic just took a month even when they regularly visited devils and Kuoh.

Mordred also tasked his goons to try and find her master in Europe, but they have no trails of the wizard of Oz.

Tiamat also used her favor from Serafall to try and find the wizard. Serafall is the devil of international affairs after all. So she goes on trips outside of the underworld regularly.

And the magical girl loving Serafall was kind enough to promise that her debt would only be paid if she managed to find Glenda.

Other than that, it was a pretty slow day in their household. Tiamat completed their new house in a day. Hiring devil contractors to renovate their home.

The holy power there back when Mordred was still sealed has completely faded already. And most of the dragon slaying runes and enchantments were on Morded himself.

So now, instead of a dingy cave. They lived in a pretty big house with an indoor pool and a game room that Mordred requested so he could invite his friends.

"Hah, there's pretty much nothing happening huh? I guess my luck has run dry?" Mordred propped his chin on the table with his hand.

"You're getting bored again, of course you won't find Longinus wielders like they're candy." Tiamat rolled her eyes and the others chuckled.

"Hmm, Cleria and Masaomi have been sending me weekly updates. Dulio now knows about the supernatural, but I should probably reincarnate him before he awakens Zenith Tempest." He nodded to himself.

"Whatever you want to do, honey." Tiamat shrugged and Mordred thought it was a great idea actually.

"Yeah, how about we go explore Europe guys?" Mordred looked at his family and they went along with him.

"Okay, they're actually nearby the Vatican. Maybe they're spying on the church or something?" Mordred checked with them.

They went into a magic circle and teleported to their location.

"Yo, how are you Masaomi, Cleria?" Mordred raised his hand and greeted.

"Mordred, we missed you." Cleria hugged him and Masaomi also raised his hand. "Yo, boss. This is Dulio."

The blonde boy who is slowly growing up to be a teen smiled at them. "Hello, so you are the boss that Masaomi and Cleria keeps talking about."

"Umu, they're my goons you see. They were actually tasked to find people like you. But I let them do what they want, it is good to give back blessing to the unfortunate." Mordred nodded at him.

"Ahhh, the boss is such a kind person." Masaomi chuckled.

"So, did you get pregnant yet Cleria?" Mordred was curious, as a devil. It was difficult to have children. But being a dragon actually makes conception harder.

Especially the higher tier ones. Because if it was easy, there would be lots of them running around so they could make an army of dragons.

Females are scarce, and the picking of mates is also hard. With female dragons wanting strong ones only to create even stronger hatchlings.

"Boss, Dulio is here..." Masaomi panicked and Cleria blushed heavily.

"Hmm, but that's why I sent you too. It's so the two of you can be alone." Mordred tilted his head.

"Ahem, Mordred. That's gonna be our private life." Cleria coughed and he nodded. He was easy to talk to if you are reasonable.

"Ahh, okay. Then I won't ask about it again." He shrugged and Tiamat chortled.

"So, uhhh. Should I call you Mordred?" Dulio didn't know how to act.

"Yeah, that will be fine. Did Masaomi and Cleria explain to you that I want you to be my kin?" Mordred showed him a bishop piece.

"Ahh, they explained to me what the evil pieces are. But I don't actually want to become a devil, those guys are the quintessential bad ones right?" Dulio chuckled nervously.

"Hmm, you are correct that they are the denizens of the underworld. But not all devils are like that. It also helped that the government changed and they don't take souls and stuff anymore. Besides, this will change you into a dragon." Mordred explained patiently.

"Ohh, a dragon? Really? Just like in legends?" Dulio blinked with wide eyes.

"Yeah, I'm a dragon. All of us here are, though some are another race before they turned to one. Mom is a pure dragon though, while I'm a human in essence. But a dragon in spirit." Mordred introduced the others.

"I see... More strength will lead to me being able to save more kids so they won't end up like me. I accept, but please let me try to do what I want as much as possible." Dulio put up a condition.

"Fair enough, I am not one to stop noble causes like yours." Mordred pushed in the bishop piece inside him and Dulio's sudden increase in magic also awakened Zenith Tempest.

Tiamat, Cleria, and Mordred quickly reigned in his magic. Because the weather was about to go haywire.

"See, this is one of the reasons why I wanted to do it soon as well. You were about to awaken your sacred gear and cause a lot of collateral damage." Mordred patted himself on the back for a good decision.

"I see, thank you for helping me." Dulio sighed in relief as his magic started to calm down. It felt like a raging storm earlier.

"Yes, and I will be the one training you as Tiamat's bishop. We are one and the same yeah?" Cleria smiled at him, giving him a thumbs up.

"Thank you Cleria, everyone. You've all been kind to me." Dulio smiled softly. Feeling like he has people to rely on again.

"I am happy to have you Dulio, come on. Let's roam around a bit and be tourists here." Mordred suggested.

Once outside, they started to tour the Vatican. With Masaomi as their guide. Cleria also had a pretty expensive camera on hand that she bought in the underworld.

The woman loves memories, so she took pictures of them everywhere.

Dulio was interested in all kinds of food, buying a lot of them and stuffing the others in Masaomi and Cleria's storage.

"It's actually so I can let other kids taste it. They can't really buy some or go outside when in the orphanage, right?" Dulio had a kind smile on his face.

"Hmm, you are kind Dulio. It is something that you should nurture. Zenith Tempest in your hands will be stronger than ever due to not having the desire to get drunk in power." Mordred nodded at him and Vali actually tensed a bit at that.

He noticed her getting stiff and remembered his burning desire to get revenge on Rizevim.

Mordred put a hand on her shoulder. "Do not worry Vali, everyone has their own circumstances. Dulio has his own agenda, while you have your own. And revenge might be frowned upon, but as a dragon. It is your duty to avenge your parents and yourself. Otherwise you might as well be a dragonkin if you let Rizevim dishonor you like that." Mordred smiled at her.

"Mo-kun..." Vali's face scrunched up, she was about to tear up.

"Vali's a baby nya, she's going to cry nyahaha." Kuroka teased her and they started quarrelling.

"Nee-sama is such a tease, they would fight if they continue." Shirone sighed at her sister.

"She's only cheering her up Shirone, do not worry. Kuroka is more sensible than you think." Mordred remembered her vigilance back then. Kuroka might be fooling around a lot, but she is very mature for her age.

And while they were trying to pinch each other's faces, Vali slipped and she bumped into someone.

"Ahh, sorry. I didn't mean to hit you." Vali immediately apologized.

"It's okay..." The blonde girl gave a stiff smile. It looked like she was exhausted or something.

"Hmm? Hello, I am Mordred Pendragon. I apologize for them being rambunctious." He walked up to her and felt that she had a holy spirit inside of her.

"A Pendragon? Ah, apologies. I'm Jeanne from the church." The blonde introduced herself, changing how she acted immediately.

"You are trying hard to be prim and proper, how about you relax Jeanne? It is not good to be stiff all the time, you will be exhausted." Mordred analyzed her and she gasped.

"Uh, you're right. Honestly, it is because the church is telling me that I'm a holy maiden. Whatever that crap is, hounding me to be like this and that." Jeanne changed her tune immediately and she sighed.

Though she is a bit more relaxed now. "How about we get some gelato and other stuff, my treat? You seem to need it." Mordred chuckled and her eyes shone.

"Really? Heck yeah! The church only gives me salads, bread, and some shitty watered down soup!" Jeanne groaned and she was tired as hell.

The others chuckled at the self proclaimed holy maiden's rough speech.

They entered a sweets shop and got some gelato, all kinds of it.

"Ohhhh! Thank you Mordred! Honestly, I'm getting tired of it all. They're putting so much pressure on me because I have Joan of Arc's spirit." Jeanne suddenly went wide eyed as she wasn't supposed to say that.

"Really? Don't worry, we can keep secrets. How about you keep me a secret too then we're even?" Mordred offered and she nodded quickly.

Or she would be given more and more lessons to be a perfect lady or something.

"Un, let's just enjoy these." Jeanne drooled and she was delighted after tasting her gelato.

"So, what do they make you do anyways?" Mordred raised a brow, she hated it so much so he was curious.

"They beat etiquette into me, history, swordplay, and the holy scripture too. Saying I harbor a saint's spirit." She furrowed her brows in displeasure.

"Well, do you have her memories or experiences?" Mordred asked in curiosity.

"No, not really. I have stronger holy magic and light magic, I can also use holy swords. But I have a sacred gear that makes them, called Blade Blacksmith." Her lips were loose due to tasting some cold treats.

"Then isn't that a mistake? You're more like a sacred gear possessor than Joan of Arc's reincarnation." Mordred was confused by the church's actions.

"Ahh what do you mean?" She listened intently for his next words.

"You're Jeanne, if you don't have Joan's memories and experiences. Then you just harbor her spirit or powers. Calling you a saint is just plain wrong. A spirit does not make you a saint, your actions do." He rolled his eyes.

"Y-yeah, you're right Mordred... Those stuffy old coots." She squinted her eyes.

"Ahhh, I should be back! Thank you Mordred!" She panicked after looking at the clock.

"Hmm, contact me with this. We're friends right?" He smiled lightly and she took it slowly.

"Un, you bet! Bye!" Jeanne ran away and Tiamat smirked at him.

"So you're also seducing saints now eh?" She wiggled her eyebrows.

"Uh, no. Seducing someone is trying to sleep with them right? I haven't even touched her." Mordred raised a brow.

"Ugh, you're so straight laced. That girl will remember you all her life now." Tiamat snorted and Cleria chuckled.

"Yup, you were being all cool and stuff. Showing her a new experience and being her friend when no one probably is." Cleria explained.

"Are girls and women that easy?" Mordred tilted his head and they gave him a weird look.

"No? You're just a natural." Tiamat nodded sagely and Cleria agreed.

"You've got the full package boss. You look good, you have a bod like a god, and you've got that gentleman's aura that is mysterious and aloof. I'm actually jealous, kuu!" Masaomi explained.

"Well, a dragon's aura also attracts all kinds of things. Especially mates, isn't that right Albion?" Tiamat asked the vanishing dragon.

"Oh yeah, my wielders had tons of lovers. Harems and reverse ones both." Albion replied.

"Hmph, Mo-kun is the only one for me." Vali promised and Mordred smiled at her.

"Well, anything else you find would be a downgrade anyway. He's the king of knights and the strongest five year old you'll ever see. He's not even in his full power yet." Albion could feel that he was only beginning to dabble in shadows.

Apophis' powers that can melt anything it envelops. A terrible power really, and he hasn't been using the primordial water too. A black fluid that has the same properties. And it hinders regeneration as well.

The nemesis of Ra is the ultimate being to fight against filthy tanks and shield users. Those with strong regenerative powers will get crushed too.

He is one of the three that were close to Ddraig and Albion's strength. Alongside Crom Cruach and Azi Dahaka.

"Ohh, Rias and Sona is calling for me. They said that they got their first prospective peerage members." Mordred got a message from the two heiresses.

"Now you're turning to devil heiresses? You're mister worldwide." Tiamat shook her head at her son's conquest.

"They're my friends mom." He sighed, they then teleported to the underworld to socialize.
