Without bothering to put on a shirt, he made his way to the front door in his boxers. As he swung the door open, he was taken aback by the sight of two girls standing outside. Both of them were dressed in white robes, with black tights peeking out from underneath.

One had beautiful blue hair that fell to her shoulders, complemented by golden-brown eyes.

The other girl had chestnut hair styled into long twintails, and her eyes shimmered with a deep violet hue. Issei couldn't help but notice the crosses adorning their necks, as well as an object tied up on the blue-haired girl's back.

The girls seemed startled by Issei's half-naked appearance, their gazes politely averted. Issei looked at them with a mix of confusion and irritation, blurting out, "Can I help you?"

"Hello, is this the Hyoudou Residence?" the girl with twintails asked timidly.

"Yes, and who might you be?" Issei questioned, his curiosity piqued.

"A-are you Issei Hyoudou?!" the twintailed girl exclaimed, her voice filled with astonishment.

Issei nodded curtly, "Yeah...what's all this about? Are you two nuns or something?"

"Issei, it's me...don't you recognize me at all?" the twintail girl implored, her voice carrying a hint of hurt.

Issei gave her a puzzled stare, admitting, "No."

"Issei, I'm hurt that you would forget me!" the twintail girl dramatically proclaimed.

He maintained his blank expression, replying matter-of-factly, "How do you even know me?"

"It's me, Irina! Irina Shidou! We were childhood friends, remember?" she declared, her tone filled with determination.

Issei pondered for a moment until Irina pulled out a picture of them as children. It was then that he finally recognized her and the memories flooded back.

He looked at her with a hint of confusion, "Shidou-kun? I always thought you were a boy..."

"Y-you...what?" Irina stammered, utterly flabbergasted by his comment.

"Regardless, what do you want from me now? We haven't spoken since we were kids," Issei stated, his tone serious.

"Umm, about that... my friend and I were wondering if we could talk to your parents," Irina said, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment.

"My parents? They're both on vacation right now... what business do you have with them?" Issei asked, growing increasingly suspicious.

He took a moment to sniff the air, his senses on high alert, but to his surprise, he detected nothing out of the ordinary. Both Irina and her companion appeared to be ordinary humans.

"Well... is it okay if we stay with you for a few days?" Irina finally gathered the courage to ask, her voice filled with uncertainty.

Issei looked at her with bewilderment. "Why? What makes me your first choice? Don't you have any family around here?"

"My family moved away, remember? Otherwise, we would still be friends. Xenovia and I... well, we're kind of... broke," Irina admitted, her tone tinged with shame.

"Why are you even here in Kuoh then? You both seem affiliated with the church... can't you stay with them?" Issei questioned, trying to make sense of the situation.

The girl with blue hair, Xenovia, finally spoke up. "Forgive us for imposing on you, Issei Hyoudou. It is not something I am proud of. We are here in this city on a mission from the church. Although we were provided with provisions, Irina ended up losing most of our money."

"I didn't lose it, things just... happened," Irina interjected with a sigh.

'Another blue-haired girl appearing out of nowhere. I should start keeping a tally,' Issei thought to himself, studying the girl carefully.

"Please, Issei! We're... kind of desperate right now. You wouldn't turn away two holy women of the church, would you? That would be rather evil," Irina pleaded, clasping her hands together.

"Alright, fine," Issei relented, allowing them to come inside his house.

Xenovia and Irina's gazes lingered on him as he sat down on the couch, inviting them to take a seat as well.

"Thank you, Issei. I promise we won't be a burden. Um... by the way, would you mind putting some clothes on?" Irina requested, her face flustered.

"Why?" Issei countered, raising an eyebrow.

"I can't look at you like that. It's... distracting," Irina explained, her voice filled with a mix of embarrassment and unease.

"Alright, but we're going to establish some ground rules when I get back," he replied as he made his way to his room to change into his usual delinquent attire.

Upon his return, Irina's eyes widened with horror. "I-Issei, what are you wearing?!"

Issei leaned back on the couch, crossing his arms. "Leather," he replied with a smirk, gesturing to his attire.

"You're a lot different than I remembered," Irina said, her cheeks flushing slightly as she observed him.

"Same could be said for you. I still can't believe you turned out to be a girl," Issei remarked, his tone filled with mild amusement.

"Thank you for letting us stay here, Issei Hyoudou. Your generosity is truly a blessing to us," Xenovia expressed her gratitude sincerely.

"About that... I'll allow you to stay for a few days, but in exchange, I expect some answers. What is this mission the church sent you on?" Issei inquired, his curiosity piqued.

"We cannot disclose the details. It is classified information," Xenovia responded firmly.

"Let me guess... does it involve the angels and devils in this town?" Issei chuckled, shaking his head.

Irina frowned, her tone tinged with defensiveness. "Are you mocking us, Issei? I understand that you're not a devout believer, but we are here for a significant purpose, and we cannot reveal the specifics."

"I wasn't mocking you. Given the number of devils in this town, it would make sense for the church to investigate. Besides, that object on your back looks like a sword. What could you possibly be doing here with a weapon like that?" Issei questioned, glancing at Xenovia.
