"Hey, Issei, why do you even attend this school? What's the point of going to school in this world?" Tiamat asked curiously as the three continued walking down the hallway.

Thankfully, their conversation remained quiet enough not to be overheard, although their presence still attracted another crowd of onlookers.

Vali's curiosity got the best of her as she asked, "You seem like you belong here... Why did you choose to live in Kuoh? And your house didn't look quite like what I would expect for a dragon's dwelling. Do you live with anyone?"

"I live with my family in Kuoh," Issei replied, keeping his answer brief.

Vali's sapphire eyes locked onto Issei for a moment, and she continued, "Your family... So, are you only half dragon, then?"

'Why did I blurt that out without thinking? Well, I might as well go along with it. They'll find out about my parents and my past sooner or later,' Issei thought to himself, resigning to the situation.

"Half? He doesn't even smell human to me... And he never claimed to be one," Tiamat interjected, her doubt evident as she glanced at Issei.

"Yes and no..." Issei sighed, feeling a mix of frustration and embarrassment.

"Hah... So that's what you meant by being unique," Tiamat chuckled. "You're just embarrassed about being a half-breed? Hahahahaha."

Issei shot her a sharp glare but remained silent, averting his gaze.

"Don't take it to heart... You're still a dragon," Tiamat said, delivering a punch to Issei's arm.

To his surprise, the impact was much stronger than he anticipated, but he managed to maintain his composure and showed no reaction to the hit. Tiamat couldn't help but notice his painless expression, and a mischievous grin formed on her face.

'She's testing you,' Ddraig warned with a tone of horror.

'Testing me? For what?' Issei asked, frustrated that Ddraig didn't provide a more detailed explanation.

Vali gave Issei a comforting pat on the back as they continued walking. "Don't pay attention to Tiamat. Being a half-breed is nothing to be ashamed of, Issei..."

"Yeah," Issei responded quietly, fixing his gaze forward.

"We don't hold it against you for keeping it a secret. Half-breeds face prejudice everywhere. Trust me, if anyone can understand, it's me," Vali said with sincerity.

"I'm done discussing this," Issei said bluntly, his expression turning cold.

Vali nodded in understanding, empathizing with his demeanor. Meanwhile, Tiamat couldn't help but let out another chuckle of amusement. "I don't think any less of you for being a half-breed, Issei. So, cheer up already, will ya? At least you're not a half-devil like Vali."

Vali shot Tiamat a fierce glare, her eyes burning with anger. "What did you just say?!"

"Huh? What?" Tiamat feigned innocence, a mischievous smile playing on her lips.

Vali shook her head, her voice dripping with warning. "Don't push me, Tia... I won't hesitate to put you in your place."

"Hey, whoa... Take it easy, Ms. Lucifer. Spare me the attitude, will ya? Jeez, I thought you could take a joke by now," Tiamat responded quickly.

Issei felt somewhat relieved, realizing that his cover story wasn't as compromised as he had feared. At least now he didn't have to worry about them coming to his house or discovering information about his parents.

As they walked outside, heading towards the parking lot, Vali checked the time and looked serious. "Oh no... We're running late, Tiamat."

"Late for what? Oh... the meeting with the Brigade," Tiamat interrupted herself, recalling their prior engagement.

"Sorry, Issei, but we don't have time to ride with you today," Vali explained as the trio approached their motorcycles.

"No need to explain, I couldn't care less about your plans," Issei replied nonchalantly.

Vali rolled her eyes at his dismissive remark. "You're lucky we're in a hurry, or I'd show you who's really tough in a race. I guess we'll see you around."

"Take care," Issei waved as Vali revved up her engine and drove off.

As Tiamat rode past him, she unexpectedly punched him in the arm again. Issei couldn't fathom why, but the dragon lady stuck her tongue out at him before speeding off to catch up with Vali.

Once they were gone, Issei let out a heavy sigh of relief. "Well, that was... close. I hope they don't stick around for the rest of my high school life. Dealing with those girls is such a hassle, and I've only known them for a few days."

Issei decided not to dwell on the matter and hopped on his bike, intending to head home. However, after only a block, hunger got the better of him, prompting him to find a nearby restaurant.

As he entered the establishment, the workers and customers froze in their tracks, clearly intimidated by his presence. Issei was accustomed to such reactions, as people often mistook him for a trouble-causing gangster or an extortionist.

Approaching the counter, Issei observed with surprise as the entire line willingly allowed him to bypass them. 'Do I really scare people that much?' he pondered, finding some amusement in the situation. He placed his order and received his food, then settled at a table to eat.

While he consumed his meal, Issei's thoughts wandered to how he would handle his current predicament. He wasn't afraid, but he dreaded the inevitable turmoil that would ensue once the devils at Kuoh Academy discovered his true identity and nature.

Vali and Tiamat added another layer of complexity to the situation. Issei couldn't help but wonder if he would eventually have to eliminate everyone at the school. Lost in his thoughts, he barely noticed someone approaching his table.

"Um... excuse me, are you Hyoudou-san?" a nervous voice inquired.

Issei snapped out of his inner musings upon noticing a fellow student wearing the school uniform approaching him. He tilted his head, feeling somewhat puzzled. The girl had shoulder-length blue hair, blue eyes, and a slightly androgynous appearance.

Within moments, Issei detected the unmistakable scent of a devil on her, causing his expression to sour. "What?" he replied, his tone laced with annoyance.
