The shift in the air was quickly felt. Hiroki smiled as he knew his girlfriend—mate—was badass in her own right. She knew what to say to annoy people but held back enough to not completely anger them. Hiroki sniffed the air, smelling the tea flavor but also the people outside. Four devils. Two of them are hybrids and one of them is a reincarnated human. An interesting bunch.

The navy-haired boy approached the door, "Gremory-san, you and your peerage are welcome to join us for tea. However, make haste. Kasana-chan and I have a date and there is something important I wish to do tonight. I request you do not delay our plans more than you have."

At that moment, four people exited from behind the home, looking none too pleased. "So you noticed."

"It's not hard to hear you. None of you were exactly silent," Kasane said as she stared them down, slowly drawing out her power. Any more and her Sacred Gear will activate. Her knives were not too far away.

"Hey hey hey, why don't we tone down hostilities and you all come inside for tea? I have a fresh pot brewing and some snacks," Hiroki said as he peered out the door. The young white-haired amber-eyed girl perked up slightly at the word 'snacks'.

"Buchou, they are not lying," the girl's voice was deadpan, almost lifeless. Hiroki smelled the scent of a cat on her.

Nekomata…wait…Nekoshou? Rare, almost extinct, Hiroki thought to himself, keeping his welcoming smile. "I have no reason to lie to fellow students, don't I? I should have invited Shitori-Kaichou and the rest of the council if we wanted to have a little get-together.

"Ara ara, trying to get all of us into one place?~"

"Do not misunderstand, Himejima-san, I only wish to know why you've been stalking us for the past two or three days. Since we were just asked by the Council to join her peerage, she may have informed you," Hiroki said, his posture shifted into a ready state in case they decide to go with force.

The redhead with an ahoge sighed, "Fine. I would have rathered you to come to the Old School Building but this will work. None of you are expected to show up on the weekend."

Kasane hummed, dropping her power, and showing a face of indifference. This was how she usually acted around people. The white-haired loli stepped up to Kasane, to which they had a stare-off. "..."

"..."

They both blinked once before nodding to each other. Hiroki chuckled, much to everyone else's confusion, "Someone made a friend~."

"Shut up, Hirochi," Kasane retorted immediately.

"You wound me, Kasane-chan," Hiroki said dramatically. "Anyway, introductions. My name is Kuno Hiroki, second-year transfer at Kuoh, and currently dating her," he said, pointing at the white-haired, red-eyed girl.

"Randall Kasane," Kasane said afterward with a small bow.

The redhead went first, "My name is Rias Gremory. As I assume you already know of the supernatural, I am the Heiress of the House of Gremory, one of the seventy-two pillars of the Underworld. At Kuoh Academy, I am a third-year student and the Buchou of the Occult Research Club, or ORC."

"Himejima Akeno, Fuka-Buchou of the ORC, Rias' [Queen], and also a third-year student." The girl known as a walking Yamato Nadeshiko said, with alluring eyes, a perfect figure, and a seductive tone within. Hiroki classified her as the most dangerous of the group.

A blond-haired boy with blue-gray eyes spoke up, "I'm Yuuto Kiba, a second-year, and Buchou's [Knight]."

The white-haired loli went last, her voice bordering on apathetic, "Toujou Koneko, first-year, Buchou's [Rook]."

Hiroki sighed as the tea started whistling, "Perfect timing, now, let's get to the nitty gritty: Why are you here, Gremory-senpai? I assume that Sitri-Kaichou would have informed you of us, as you two seem to run this town in the supernatural sense."

Kasane passed out tea cups and dishes as Hiroki rounded up snacks like candies, crackers, chips, dips, and cheese. Koneko took the candies, noting that they were set directly in front of her. Maybe he wasn't so bad.

"That's correct, myself and Sona both share responsibility over Kuoh. She had informed me of your denial to join her peerage."

"I shall stop you there, Gremory-senpai," Kasane said. "If the next sentence you speak is asking us to join your peerage, leave." She was adamant about not joining one. Yasaka had spoken on how reincarnated Devils are looked down upon because the old Devils' pride stick was shoved so far up their asses that whoever pulled it out should be crowned their savior.

"While not how I would word it, yes. That's about what I'm going to say, joining any peerage is out of the question. I and Kasane-chan have no intention of disrupting your rule. Our Guardian sent us here because the Academy was highly rated, recently co-ed, and she is trying to bring us closer together," Hiroki said, pouring out tea for everyone before sitting next to Kasane, setting a hand on her thigh.

Rias frowned but understood. However, her pride was trampled upon because of Kasane's rudeness. "I treat my peerage like family. I would not do anything to harm you."

"True. The Gremory peerages are treated like family and respect but you are one of many. You are an anomaly to your kind. Not many have your outlook on peerages," Kasane retorted before she took a sip of her tea, "Ah, you brought out the rich herbal tea."

"It's a calming tea, nothing special," Hiroki said with slight bashfulness.

Akeno sipped the tea and found herself liking it, "Would you mind showing me the ingredients for this? I would like to expand my recipes, Hiroki-san…is that alright?"

"I don't mind, Akeno-senpai," he replied.

"Ufufufu, moving to first names?" She asked with half-lidded eyes. Kiba silently drank the tea and started to feel less tense than before. Koneko sipped it and hummed before drinking more than half of it in one go.

"May I inquire as to why you don't wish to join a peerage? The benefits are plentiful," Rias respectfully asked.

Kasane sighed, "Persistant…We both have personal reasons for that. While varied, they end up with the same answer: no."
