Chapter 6

(Samuel's P.O.V)

57 years... More than 50 years have passed since my rebirth into this planet, which is more than a generation in human terms yet only a few seasons to us devils.

For many people, waking up in a new world is a daydream; fantasies of breathing fire and shooting meteors with fancy eyes, or simply using swords to cut souls and whatnot. It has always held the most fascination among people... yet believe me when I say that the sensation of being truly reborn is...

Unexpectedly...

Normal.

Cheats are the most essential priority that everyone aspires to obtain before being born in another world, therefore I, too, obtained cheats.

However, there is a catch. I had no idea who had given me these cheats. Unlike others who can request several cheats (usually three or more), I only received two, which I didn't even choose because they were given to me at random. I got some memories of this cheat, and that's all there is to it.

But that's okay.

I couldn't care less about the being that bestowed these abilities on me, for someone of their calibre wanted me dead! Then I'd be dead, so resistance is pointless.

Anyway, my first cheat is rather simple. {Essence of Blank}

• You will only acquire one benefit from consuming this essence: your potential will become unbounded. You can learn any field of study or set of abilities, even if you shouldn't be capable of them, without forgetting what you've learned, and you can practice them until you become an expert in them regardless of how much you learn.

• Your existing powers and abilities and even essence, will improve wherever it is feasible and expand in ways that go beyond their primary function.

As for my second cheat, is {Essense of Immortal}

• When you reach your prime of life, the body stops maturing and begins to die, and your ageing stops. If your body is already past its prime, it will revert to that state.

• A healing factor that keeps you in perfect health and allows you to recover quickly from any injury, disease, or toxin short of total physical destruction. If you choose to, you can simply block off the pain while remaining aware of your ailment.

• Perfect memory, with endless storage and data recovery. Even if you successfully remove your memories, they will eventually resurface. Identity loss is merely another sort of death, yet you can never fully die.

• Skills, talents, and abilities do not deteriorate as a result of insufficient training or the passage of time. Reincarnating into a new body requires you to physically condition that new body from the ground up, but muscle memory is truly in the mind and so carries over perfectly fine.

• An indestructible mind that, even if crushed or shattered by immense force, will eventually recover from any level of mental pain or destruction You can still be negatively affected by awful events, boredom, sensory deprivation, and so on, but you will never be permanently trapped inside your thoughts unless you have other skills or abilities.

• An Eternal soul that cannot be captured, bound, owned, permanently injured or erased by any power other than the Supreme Being, If you are ever destroyed by any means, even being retroactively erased from existence, you will reincarnate somewhere else and regain your early childhood memories and talents. Unless other conditions intervene, you will reincarnate as a healthy infant of the closest equal to the race you "died" as, which is usually the same one in both cases. If you cannot reincarnate in the entire universe, you will reincarnate in a nearby universe.

• The capacity to intentionally "die" and activate your next reincarnation in conditions such as being stuck in an inescapable void, buried beneath a collapsed world, devoured alive for eternity in an Elder God's stomach, held in temporal stasis, trapped in an inescapable time loop, and so on.

• This ability will never activate unless you honestly and freely want it to, although it can be engaged "subconsciously" regardless of how disabled you are. The capacity to petition the Supreme Being to stop your immortality and allow you to move on to what comes next, but only if you want to and are completely in your right mind.

This {Essense} made me immortal in every sense, even if I died, I could reincarnate, which scared me to some extent because it mentioned some supreme beings and elder gods, just the description of them sent chills down my spine, who would be stupid enough to anger those entities and be devoured in their stomachs or cursed to stay in some lonely inescapable void.

I began my training with these cheats at the time I began walking. I was nothing short of a lunatic. I journeyed into the depths of the world to gain power, and there were two significant persons I met on my journey from the overworld to the underworld.

Gabriel was the first. My first meeting with her was a disaster, but that's a story for another time. But as time progressed, we became good acquaintances and formed some sort of mutual benefit agreement, which I prefer to refer to as a "Deal with the Devil."

The best deal I ever did with Gabriel was obtaining the [Book of Lucifer]. It was a mythical tome of magic that recorded Lucifer's skills and experiences throughout his lifetime, including the forbidden spell and the god's knowledge of the {Divine System}.

The angels obtained this book through some mysterious means that I am unaware of, but they were unable to open it because Lucifer designed it in such a way that he could only open it, even though they would not have been able to take it even with his power, so the powerless angels threw that book in the vault, believing that nobody could ever access it because Lucifer was already dead.

Lucifer was a very poetic man, as seen by this book, highlighting his power and view of the world. Every word in this book served a purpose, and the letters were written in such beautiful penmanship that {Wen Zhengming} would be ashamed of his calligraphy, as Lucifer himself wrote it.

[Do you know why God brought me down? Because I loved Him. More than anything. And then God created humans. The little... hairless monkeys. And then, He asked us all to bow before them, to love them more than Him.]

[And I said to Him, "Father... I can't." I said, "These human beings are flawed, murderous!"]

[..So God made Michael throw me into Hell. Does the punishment fit the crime? Especially when I was right? See what billions of them did with it. And how many of them now blame me for that? But even though I resented my Father for what happened, I grudgingly accepted to take control of Hell... but that was when the lesser gods started to emerge...]

Lucifer's connection with his father, God, was not as awful as I had assumed. According to what individuals said about the stories and transcripts of humanity from their time on Earth, God's relationship with Lucifer was unpleasant, but it wasn't that bad.

Another thing that made me anxious... what did Lucifer mean by "lesser gods"? What was he on about? Maybe they're the current gods. And how am I able to access this book when it was supposed to be accessible only by Lucifer, not even his descendants?

I had so many questions but no answers; my only option was to keep on moving...

So, where did I leave off? Yes, the two significant persons I met on my journey. As I already stated, the first was Gabriel, and the second was a fierce warrior queen from the {Isle of Skye}, and how did I meet her? As previously stated, this is a story for another time.

(P.O.V End)

Samuel stared at his father's somewhat weird smile and Rofcale's slightly embarrassed expression. His father's words slowly echoed through his mind.

'As for every Lucifer, they require a Lucifuge.'

Slowly a disgusted expression morphed on Samuel's face as continued to stare at both his father and Rofocale.

'Gay!'

As this went on, Samuel could sense someone walking into the courtroom. It was just out of the corner of his eye that he was able to make out the figure of the individual, and at that very instant, he was both astonished and, in an odd way, relieved.

The individual in question was a woman, and even though he was curious about her, he did not cast a curious glance in her direction since Samuel valued his pride even more so than Lucifer.

The figure walked over to his father, bowing as she did so. Samuel finally had a chance to have a good look at her profile at this precise moment. She had long, silvery grey hair that was a tad lighter in colour than his. She had neatly braided her hair, exposing a small portion of her white nape. Her hair was so long that it reached her hips, which served to hide her curves.

"Greetings Lord Lucifer."

It was completely different from Samuel's magnetic voice, and the voice that was heard was quite melodic and sweet.

The figure turned towards Samuel and gave a bow to him, Samuel's curiosity finally came to an end as he was her face properly this time.

She was a stunning young woman in her early twenties with back-length silver hair that had a long braid on either side with small blue bows at the ends, while the remainder was let down, ending in twin braids and red eyes that sparkled like priceless rubies.

She wore an outfit that consisted of a black shirt with golden caramel accents at the edges of the shirt and spread horizontally near the bottom, with two light golden trims going down the shirt, and the shirt split slightly above her stomach, exposing her midriff.

Her pants were black with a golden caramel accent at the bottom hem. A long, lightweight, cyan scarf that reaches her hips and is wrapped over her neck and shoulder. Her blue pants have a white waistband and a white outline at the top of the waistband.

"Hello, Young Master. I am Grayfia Lucifuge" As the woman bowed her head to Samuel, Samuel examined the look on her face with the utmost attention. Even though she appeared to have no expression at all on her face, he could yet detect a hint of reluctance in her features, as if she was unwilling to do something.

'Oh! I recognize her; according to what I've heard, she is the rumoured daughter of Rofocale, who is the heir to the Lucifuge house.'

"Now that you're all here, it's time to see if you two have a bloodline resonance," Rizevim said lazily as a woman named Grayfia and Samuel sliced a bit of our finger to get out a drop of blood. Rizevim then began to cast some incarnation on the drop of blood, and soon enough, the two drops of blood joined and shone brightly before they disintegrated into nothing.

"Excellent... The resonance of your bloodline is quite powerful. Grayfia, this is excellent news; as of today, you will, from this point forward, be destined to spend eternity blended in with the blood of Lucifer."

He stated in a forceful tone that all Grayfia did was simply nod her head in agreement because she had been mentally preparing herself for this moment all along. A Lucifuge will invariably have a Lucifer till their death. One might say that she was prepared for a future role as Lucifer's aide from the time she was a young child. It was inscribed in her future.

"Since everything has been taken care of, you two are free to leave." Rizevim's words came out as sweetly as possible as he told them to "Get the fuck out of this place"
