The Spear Knight

I don't want to move, I feel like it's the right move. Why? Because it's the best choice currently.

Spell is being flung left and right, there's no spot that's safe from being hit. If a spell is flung to me, all I should do is dodge and continue standing still.

The Knight and Gabriel suddenly started fighting the moment they catches eyes. Gabriel used all the spell in his arsenal, including a spell I never seen before.

The Knight is a melee fighter, using a long spear and is very agile. Gabriel is having a hard time landing a spell on the knight.

The Knight jumped up high and materialize a barrier under his feet, making him able to run in the air.

Gabriel immediately copies the Knight, creating a barrier below him and bringing the fight to the air. It doesn't matter, however, The Knight swiftly dodges his attack just like earlier.

It's like this Knight is used to fighting an abomination like Gabriel. There's no sign of him slowing down, not a hint of hesitation in his actions and seems to have all things planned out.

Gabriel however, started to get irritated, it doesn't matter what spell he throws, it will always either be dodged or deflected by the Knight, no matter the position they're currently in.

I'm sure Gabriel is yelling at the top of his lungs, but the sound of the explosion made me unable to hear, and I was busy dodging all the spells that he missed... And deflected by the Knight.

Is he trying to kill me too? Every chance the knight gets, he will deflect the spell towards me, though his main concern is Gabriel.

Who is this Knight? I should take my chances to Appraise him.

Huh? Did I miss it? It can't be...

I appraised him again and got the same result.

Is that not a living being? Gabriel is basically fighting a robot or something. That explains the near-perfect movement of that thing.

Soon, the wave of spells lessened Gabriel seemed to be out of breath. He deactivated the barrier he was standing on and landed on the ground, the knight soon followed.

Gabriel is breathing heavily and sweating his balls off. The knight is unaffected but their battle and standing a far few meters from Gabriel.

Hah, that so-called hero is no different than the other, all he can do is throw a spell until it lands! Well, did you get another trick to show?

Gabriel gritted his teeth and suddenly raised one arm in the air.

"ABSORB!"

... Nothing is happening, but Gabriel seems to have regained some energy. I see, so he absorbs the energy from the corpses lying around.

The Knight charges towards Gabriel at an insane speed, ready to end this fight.

Gabriel cast his barrier again and cast a huge wall of ice in front of him. Then, he creates a sea of flame that covers the road, making me run away to his side of the road.

After doing all this, he ran away, as fast as he could.

Before he got too far, however, the wall of ice and the sea of flame suddenly split in two, accompanied by a loud sonic boom. Dust and ice were sent flying making me close my eyes.

When I opened my eyes, all I could see was the destruction caused by the fight.

When I looked around, I saw in the distance, Gabriel had been pierced from the back and was being lifted in the air using the spear.

The knight managed to kill that monster without being hit.

The Knight stayed in that pose for several seconds and a light emerged from Gabriel's body. Slowly, Gabriel is disappearing into light particles.

"... What was that?"

All I did was watch him disappear bit by bit until he disappeared completely.

What happened to him? Is he gone? What did that thing do to him?

Before I could entertain this thought, the Knight turned its attention to me.

... Am I next?!

It suddenly disappeared and reappeared near me instantly. My Danger Sense isn't triggered for some reason, and before I knew it, I was also stabbed and lifted in the air, just like Gabriel.

"Damn... It..."

I'm dead again, but what will happen to me? Am I going to disappear as well?

"What.. are you?"

I suddenly let out a question, I wanted to know its purpose. But when it responds, it's still incomprehensible, like a different language, a language that didn't exist in this world.

Whatever... I will come back. That's the sole reason I'm not afraid of dying.
