PARTNERSHIP

As the girl backs away in fear, Shallot is confused by her. He then kneels down and grabs the mangled pipe, causing the girl to freak out.

"I don't get it. Did you want me to see your special attack with this thing?" Shallot asks.

The girl is shocked for a moment, but then gets frustrated.

"No, you idiot! I was trying to knock you out!"

Shallot looks up at her as she covers her mouth, not meaning to say that.

"Why would you wanna do that?"

The girl let's out a sigh.

"Because you have a Dragon Ball."

Shallot thinks to himself for a moment, then remembers what Baba gave him. He reaches into his bag and pulls out the Dragon Ball.

"You mean this, right? The old woman told me it could grant wishes, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised that people would want it."

He hands it to her.

"You know what they can do, yet you're just giving it to me? Why?"

Shallot gives her a smile.

"Well it's not like I was gonna use them. Besides, I was told to help you anyway."

The girl smiles, thinking to herself that Shallot is nuts. He then stands to his feet and offers his hand to her.

"So, where's the next one?"

The girl is surprised by this.

"You want to help me find the rest?"

"Like I said, a fortune teller told me to help you. I think it's the way to accomplish my goal."

The girl smiles, still not knowing what Shallots talking about, but could use the help. She grabs Shallot hand, getting back to her feet. The two then start shaking hands.

"Well then, I think this is the start of a beautiful partnership. What's your name, stranger?"

"It's Shallot."

The girl is confused again.

"What kind of name is Shallot?"

The saiyan gets annoyed.

"I'll have you know, it is a proud saiyan name. Anyway, what's your name?"

The girl smiles out of pride.

"Bulma Briefs."

When she says this, Shallot chuckles a little, angering Bulma.

"What's so funny!?"

"It's nothing. Alright, Bulma Briefs. Let's get started."

Bulma smiles and nods, ready for the journey. She then pulls out a small capsule, throws it to the ground and a motorcycle pops out. Shallot smirks.

"Not bad."

Bulma smiles.

"Thank you, we Briefs are always here to please."

When she says this, Shallot starts to laugh again, causing Bulma to get angry.

"Stop laughing at my name, you little twirp!"

Later, Bulma and Shallot ride out to the middle of nowhere on her motorcycle. As Bulma speeds on the bike, Shallot tries to hang on for dear life.

"Maybe you should slow down a bit, Bulma." Shallot suggests.

Bulma starts laughing.

"Come on, this isn't even the fastest this thing can go."

She then notices that the sun is going down and stops, launching Shallot off of the bike.

"Ooops, sorry about that."

Before he could hit the ground, Shallot stops his body by flying. Bulma is shocked by the sight of him floating off the ground.

"Hold on, Shallot, you can fly?!" She yells.

Shallot looks at her confused.

"Of course I can fly. What? Can earthlings not fly?"

"No, we can't! And what's with this whole "earthlings" thing?"

"Oh right, I guess I never did tell you, did I? I'm a Saiyan who crashed landed on earth." Shallot says with a smile.

"A, Saiyan? What the heck is that?"

"It's a race of warriors on a planet far from here. It's where I grew up."

Bulma scoffs and folds her arms.

"You expect me to believe that?"

"Why would I lie about something like that. Besides, you said it yourself, humans can't fly and I can. Plus all Saiyan's have tails and from what I've seen, you humans don't."

As Bulma looks at the tail and makes the realization that Shallot might actually be from another planet. Her eyes lights up and she has a big smile her face. She then pulls out a note pad, confusing Shallot.

"I can't believe I'm actually talking to a real life alien! I have so many questions! What's space like!? What kind of ship do you have!? What else can you do, besides fly!?"

Shallot puts his hands up, trying to calm her down.

"Where's your home planet?"

When Bulma asks him that, Shallots face drops. The memory of his planets destruction replays in his mind over and over again. His body starts to tremble as he grits his teeth. Bulma notices this and is worried.

"Hey, are you ok?" She asks, putting her hand on his shoulder.

Shallot snaps out of it and backs away.

"I'm fine. So, are we gonna camp out here?"

Bulma laughs.

"Please, camping isn't for a gorgeous young lady like myself."

Bulma then pulls out a capsule and presses the button. She throws it to the ground and a small house pops out.

"Home, sweet home."

As she opens the door, she looks back and sees Shallot walking off.

"Hey, you're not coming in."

He stops walking, keeping his back turned to her.

"I have to train."

As Bulma watches him fly off, she's put off by his change of attitude. She shrugs it off and walks inside.
