I hear my phone go off and see a text from Kennedy

I read the text and my heart clenches

I grab the small box and sit back again and open the small velvet box to reveal my mom's ring

"Wish you could've met her ma" I say picking the ring up and looking at it, I shouldn't have left, I should've stayed and tried talking it out instead I was a jackass and left

I made a promise to Antonio and Gabi that I wouldn't ever hurt Kennedy or Ryan but I broke it tonight I made both of my girls hurt

I put the ring back and decide to head back to Kennedys place and make things right

I grab my car keys and rush out if my apartment to my truck, I tuck the ring in my jacket pocket and zip the zipper closed so I wont lose it

I shut the door locking it and running down the hall

I make sure I have Kennedys apartment key before leaving, I get to my truck getting in and I turn the ignition on and buckle up before making my way to Kennedys place

I pull into Kennedys apartment building

Ryan text me and Gabi saying that Kennedy was crying so I rushed right over, she also said she was asleep by Ryan's door and wasnt moving

I rush into the building and to the elevator, I hit the 20th floor button and see Jay running to the elevator, I hold the door and see his eyes were red

"So where were you?" I ask as the elevator starts ascending upward

"Uh I needed something from my apartment so I went to grab it" he says not looking at me

I hit the emergency stop button and turn to him

"Why is my baby sister crying?" I ask standing up straight and crossing my arms

I make face me and I let a sigh out knowing this was bad

"What happened?" I ask knowing my sister was fine when I saw her earlier that day

"I asked her to pick the new cases file up cause I was going to work on it before I went to bed and I had her file" he says looking at me

I groan knowing she was far different from her past and this probably upset her

"What happened after?"

"We started arguing and I brought up the overdose" he says and I clench my fists ready to punch him in the face

"Are you stupid Jay?" I say punching the elevator wall

"Why would you bring that up at all!" I yell looking at him my right hand hitting my left hand between each word

"I was mad she looked through my personal files and it slipped up, and before you say it I know I fucked up real bad"

"You did and right now just let me talk to her ok?" I say trying to calm down

"Ok?" I say again

"Ok" he says

The elevator wasnt moving so lucky me had to walk 20 flights of stairs

I reach Kennedys apartment and walk in to see Kennedy sitting with Ryan on the couch, her face was tear stained and red and puffy

I sit beside my little sister and pull both her and Ryan into my embrace
