Chapter 15

POV - Tats 14238725/726: Reece Stafford Devin Ellighton

"Insubordinate, and churlish." Team Handy was in the middle of being torn a new one.

"Agent Slinge. How dare you interact with a KTE without permission?" The assistant director was also an asshole.

"I thought it was the best course of action sir." It really was. I was scared shitless after he destroyed the Shy Guy. I did not want some random squad angering him.

"Putting all your team in danger was the best course of action? Are you perhaps dumb?" Why was everyone devoid of so much common sense?

"We had information on PTE-12725-RED. I didn't want to risk turning a PTE into a KTE." At least some people had the decency to hear you out when you told them not to fuck up. I was happy with my captain.

"You already classed it as a PTE? Agent Slinge, I don't think you understand what you have done. You were supposed to come back to base to get new orders, not interact with a Type-Black. Do you think your actions don't have consequences?"

"My team came back safe, and PTE-12725-RED now has a good first impression of the GoC, sir." I saw the captain almost spit at the assistant director.

He turned to me. "What about you Tato, do you think your captain chose the right thing? Or should I send her back to the college?" Why did this clown insist on mispronouncing everybody's name?

Still, I straighten. "I think Captain Sling made the right decision."

He hummed and looked at Dud. "What about you Dude? You think your captain is still fit to continue her job as captain?"

"Yes sir." Said Dud, looking a bit uncomfortable, but he still answered with steel in his voice.

He glared back at Sling. "I don't want another incident like this Slinge. I can't have a team go around disobeying orders." That… was actually true. Having teams go rouge at every corner would be bad.

"Yes sir. I am sorry, sir." It still sucked that we had to apologize.

"You better be. Now go and write your report. I also want you to prepare for a meeting. I'll prepare a meeting between your team, the director, and a representative of the PSYCHE and PTOLEMY divisions to discuss how we will deal with KTE-12725-RED."

Captain Sling looked like she wanted to tell the Assistant Director that Red was a PTE, but she kept her mouth shut.

"Yes sir."

I sighed as quietly as I could. Team Handy was already in trouble, I didn't need the other divisions thinking we were unprofessional in meetings too.

"And how did you track KTE-12725-RED? If I remember correctly, you said it was able to hide most of its soul." Most did not mean much when it was so damn big though. Looking for Red just by feeling out where his soul was, was not that hard.

"Thanks to two factors, when it got surprised or had intense emotions, its hold on its soul would somewhat loosen." We unfortunately still had to justify everything to the clever cogs in words they understood.

"And the other factor?" The PSYCHE division representative asked.

"It didn't have defenses against spells that use quantum linkages. We were able to track it at all times." That had been mildly worrying, someone somehow getting a being as strong as Red under their thumb would be incredibly dangerous.

The director hummed and then locked eyes with the captain. "It didn't?"

"We gave it an explanation of how we found it after it demanded us to tell it. It somehow became immune to them after." Type-Blacks were usually bullshit like that.

"You couldn't have just denied its request?"

"Like I said, PTE-12725-RED didn't request it, it demanded it. I don't think I can quite put into words how pathetic I felt when it asked me for the second time how we found it." It made you feel small in a way only looking at videos of how big the universe was could.

"So because you went looking for it, now it is immune to one of the most basic forms of tracking and control?" Why was that a bad thing!? That was literally the best thing ever. We didn't need some cultists or maniacs controlling Red. Why didn't they understand something so simple? Was it because they haven't met Red, and so they don't take him seriously?

"I don't think we could have controlled it even if we wanted to. PTE-12725-RED's level of power was so high I don't think even a group of 50 magus could have sustained a continuous attack or seize attempt on it." Hmmm, I bet there was a necromancer crazy enough to try it anyways.

"You keep insisting it is a PTE. Why are you doing it?" The PSYCHE representative butted in.

"I don't believe PTE-12725-RED to be a danger. To me it seems it's just lost. I think it just wants to be left alone."

"And why would an entity want to be left alone. I bet it wants privacy to complete a ritual." Why!???

"It doesn't know how to do magic." Captain Sling interjected rapidly, too rapidly.

The director hummed. "Your report mentioned something about him writing in an unknown language."

"I… I don't think Red is that kind of entity." The captain just lost a lot of credibility, that is not good.

"Many entities who appear to be benevolent do not have good intentions with humanity."

I decided to join the discussion. "I have met with PTE-12725-RED a couple of times. In none of our meetings it has shown any disgust or bad intentions towards humans."

Captain Sling gave me a stink eye, but I did my best to ignore it. "I believe that 12725 has the potential to be a very, very dangerous threat. I don't want to be on its bad side."

The director glared at me. I think I would have shrank from his visage if I hadn't experienced Red's uncontrolled power during his fight with Shy Guy. The two of them didn't compare.

Pov - Gabriel Garcia

I decided against making a weapon in the end. It would literally not serve any purpose other than making my soul physical. I did not know if my soul being physical was dangerous or not, but I wouldn't be finding out.

Instead, I visited Old Faithful and decided to meditate near it. The place was beautiful and I wanted to see it before I got to creating my own personal soul dimension.

Sif had described it as an inner world. A place where everything that was would be me. She said I would need to concentrate on what I wanted, and my soul would do the rest. Something about gods just being able to do it instinctively once they were strong enough made her think I would be able to do it too.

I doubted it would be so easy, especially because gods and embodiments were not the same, but she believed I would be able to do it. So without much thought to it, I made a chair out of condensed space, and sat down.

I concentrated on creating my own little universe. A universe whose only purpose would be to harbor my soul. A place where my metaphysical being would concentrate.

For a long time I didn't feel anything, but I kept at it. Even as the sun bore down on me, and I felt time pass, I concentrated in creating my own soulspace. I didn't need it, but I really wanted to be able to walk around without hypnotizing everyone around me.

After what felt like hours, I felt a change. Like if I suddenly realized my soul didn't need to invade the material world and it immediately left it.

It was a bit jarring, but I immediately felt the difference. The constant pressure that I had to put my soul under was gone. I no longer needed to rein it in. I felt free.

Man, my decision to visit this park has to be one of the best decisions I have ever made. A lot of good stuff was happening. I met the GoC guys, I met Thor and Sif, and now one of my biggest issues is gone.

I stood up and stretched real good when I noticed an old man walking up to me. "Are you okay young man? You have spent way too much time here. Are you sunburned anywhere?"

I smiled at the man. "Thank you for worrying, I'm fine though. Did you come all the way up here just to check on me?"

He waved his hands. "Nonsense, what do you mean you are fine. I bet your everything hurts."

This man was nice. "I'm being honest sir, look at me, my skin is fine."

He leaned closer and took off his glasses. "Hmmm, you do seem fine. Are you using some type of new sun cream?" He leaned away and put his glasses on again.

"Nah. I just don't sunburn."

He grumbled a bit, mentioning something about young people and whatnot. I smiled at him. "Let's go back to the main building. We don't want you to get sunburned."

"Hey! I'll have you know I don't sunburn either! Don't underestimate my skin." He turned around and started walking towards the entrance.

I catched up to him. "My name is Gabriel, what's yours?"

"Just call me David"

_______________________________________________________________

After talking to David some more I left. It was getting late so I decided to teleport back to my room at Lake Village and sleep in. Today had been a productive day and I was happy with it.

Of course that was when a bunch of men in power armor barged into my room and slammed me into the floor, put a collar around my neck, and proceeded to jab me with a syringe that I could only assume had some tranquilizer in it.

What the actual fuck was wrong with this world.

"We have the suspect." I heard someone say.

"Good, bring him back to base, I want to interrogate him so try not to give him a concussion." The voice sounded like it came through a speaker.

"Yes ma'am." I was lifted up with my hands on my back and finally got a look at the assholes.

… Fucking hell, was not even Yellowstone safe from the Foundation? It was a damn national park!

Why were they even 'apprehending' me? Fucking bastards.

I didn't want to play games with the Foundation so I just made all the space around everyone static. When they all froze I extricated myself from their uncomfortable hold and walked up back to my bed.

When I finally sat on my bed, I used my bootleg version of telekinesis, and moved everyone so they were facing me. The armor they were wearing looked really cool now that I got a good look at them.

I unfroze the space around everyones head so they would be able to hear me and gave everyone a look of disapproval.

"So gentlemen." I began to revert my transformation. My facial structure changed back to what it once was, and my red hair came back again. "Why is it that the Foundation always finds a way to bother me when I am finally relaxing?"

Pov - MTF Captain Karyn Collingwood

"Oh fuck."

"Oh fuck indeed. Tell me, why would the Foundation even bother with a nobody, was it because I met with the GoC? Wouldn't it cause problems if the Foundation just started kidnapping random agents of the streets?"

"Oh fuck me."

"Stop it. Just answer the question." I began to feel the pressure every agent was made aware of.

"The agents around Yellowstone saw SCP-190-DE interacting with someone that was also seen teleporting."

"And?" Holy fuck it was getting hard to breathe.

"This mobile task force is tasked with apprehending SCP-190-DE if ever found outside of Europe. When my superiors were made aware of their contact with you, we were ordered to bring you in for interrogation."

I watched through the camera mounted on one of the SCP-150-DE suits how SCP-12725 ripped the reality anchor around his neck off with his bare hands.

"What is up with your agents? I expected them to be screaming by now."

"... Unfortunately, SCP-150-DE deteriorates the mind of whoever uses them. These men decided that was a price they were willing to pay to keep humanity safe."

"So it was all voluntary? No d-class forced into them?"

"No Gabriel, these men knew what they were getting into." I was so happy I read the dossier on SCP-12725. I was pretty sure its aura could get worse.

SCP-12725 leaned back and hummed for a moment before looking at one of the defenders.

"So the Foundation has power armors? That's pretty cool."

"Yes, they are cool. Are you going to kill my MFT crew?"

"What!? Why would I do that?" He looked alarmed for a second before he scoffed and I felt the presence recede a little.

"W-Well, I don't know. You have them right there and so I thought that maybe you were going to do something to them after we almost abducted you and so I began to think tha-"

"Please stop. You are rambling. Be more professional." I had never shut up so fast in my life.

SCP-12725 looked directly at the camera I was watching from, making it seem like he was looking at me in the eyes. "Just…" He sighed. "I'll leave Yellowstone. Just… hah, fuck off or something. You ruined my day."

AN

How does the Foundation always find a way to bother peaceful SCPs?

Yellowstone is an SCP y'all. Like, wtf? Also, reading about the 150-DE suits is fucking depressing.

Now, about the GoC way of cataloging threats, here ya go:

KTE: Known Threat Entities are those paranormal entities which have been clearly identified as Threats and slated for response.

UTE: Unknown Threat Entities are those parathreats whose existence can be inferred, but whose identity has not been positively established.

PTE: Potential Threat Entities are paranormal entities who are not yet considered Threats, but have a high likelihood of becoming Threats.

LTE: Liquidated Threat Entities are entities that have been confirmed destroyed. Records maintained for archival purposes only.

Non-Threats: Paranormal entities that are not considered Threats. Records maintained for observation and liaison purposes.

This info was taken from the file: Excerpts from PHYSICS Division Threat Entity Database

If any of y'all find a spelling mistake, has questions, has some criticism, or whatever, please leave a comment. I enjoy reading them.

Thanks for reading.
