Episode 4 - Genius of The Daleks - Part 2

Previously: The Doctor and Kathy arrived on a spaceship led by The Daleks. Kathy stayed with Katrep to help him fix the spaceship. The Doctor discovered the spaceship was heading to a planet called Marcey, full of radiation. The ship was almost in the atmosphere, meaning The Doctor and everyone who isn't a Dalek would disintegrate. Kathy revealed her past.

The Dalek continues "ten...nine...eight-".

The Doctor then shouts "STOP!".

Davros is still laughing "YOU REALISE, DON'T YOUR DOCTOR...THIS...IS...YOUR...END!".

The Dalek then says "three...two...one-".

The Doctor stares in shock.

Kathy watches as the spaceship enters the atmosphere.

Kathy turns around and watches as a wave of force starts to enter the spaceship.

Thalls begin to scream.

Kathy and Katrep step back, near the window as the force gets closer and closer to them.

Kathy closes her eyes until...

Kathy then opens her eyes, and as she turns her head, she sees Katrep beside her who isn't moving, Kathy then looks at the Dalek in front of her and it isn't moving either.

Kathy then looks around and sees that nothing is moving.

The Doctor then runs into the hallway and he sees Kathy. Kathy then says "Doctor? What's going on?" The Doctor then says "time, time has frozen" Kathy shakes her head "how has that happened?" The Doctor then shakes his head "I have no idea, but it gives us a chance to save the Thalls, some are beyond saving, but some we can save" Kathy then looks at Katrep "we need his help, he might know a way!" The Doctor then says "alright, I can try something, just stand back".

The Doctor walks over to Katrep and he puts his hands onto Katrep's head.

Katrep then takes a deep breath.

The Doctor looks at him and says "alright, take a deep breath, I did something a little dangerous, but we needed your help" Katrep looks at The Doctor "what happened?" The Doctor then steps back and he looks at Kathy. The Doctor looks at the two of them and says "time has frozen, the reason for it is irrelevant right now. Katrep, I need you to set the engines to reverse, do you think you could do that?" Katrep nods at him "not alone though" The Doctor looks at Kathy "think you can help him?" Kathy nods at The Doctor "of course I can" The Doctor nods "alright, I have someone to talk to, you two get this ship ready to go in reverse and away from the planet".

The Doctor runs down the hallway on his own, leaving Kathy and Katrep.

Kathy looks at Katrep "so, what do we do?" Katrep then says "let's get to the engine room" Kathy nods at him. Katrep then walks off down the hallway, with Kathy behind him.

Walking back into the Dalek Command Center, The Doctor looks around and says "so, what caused time to freeze?" The Doctor looks at Davros, who has also frozen in time.

The Doctor then puts his hands onto Davros' head

The Doctor then opens his eyes, and he is stood in a dark room with Davros.

Davros then says "Doctor? What have you done?" The Doctor then says "psychic link, I'm in your head" Davros then says "my Daleks will exterminate you!" The Doctor shakes his head "time has frozen, just as you were entering the atmosphere of the planet, time froze, I don't know why just yet, but you haven't won" Davros then says "so why are you here?" The Doctor smirks "wasting a little bit of time whilst my friends put your ship in reverse, but also, information".

Davros then stares at The Doctor "what information could you possibly want?" The Doctor then says "something is happening to my life, my timeline...The Daleks have one of the biggest psychic links in the universe...the hive mind, you, or one of your Daleks must have seen or heard something, anything!" Davros looks at The Doctor "why would I tell you anything?".

The Doctor stares at Davros, Davros then starts to laugh.

Kathy and Katrep walk down a hallway, passing frozen Daleks and Thalls.

Kathy then says "so, your people, what are they? Who are they?" Katrep then says "what do you mean?" Kathy looks at Katrep "well, I'm human, I come from Earth, I know you're from Skaro, but I don't know much else about you and your people" Katrep then nods "we're the Thals, as you said, we come from Skaro. My people were once a part of a great war many years ago, some called it a thousand years...but I was lucky enough to be born after the war, where my people now fight for ourselves, we oppose violence, that's why my people won't fight the Daleks, that's why we work or die" Kathy shakes her head "but your people have to understand that they have their own right to freedom" Katrep nods "they know, but they don't want to fight. Anyway, due to being born through parents to soldiers of that war, I have the resistance to radiation in my blood" Kathy stares at him "what does that mean?" Katrep says "our planet is covered with radiation, someone like yourself would simply die from it, but I was born with the resistance" Kathy then says "how come your people are dying from it then?" Katrep says "the radiation on this planet is almost a hundred times stronger, it burns living flesh, nothing could survive it, except for Dalek Uranium, it bounces radiation off of it, that's how they survive the radiation" Kathy then stops walking and she says "hold on a minute, if we start reversing, we could do something else" Katrep looks at Kathy "which is what?" Kathy smiles "get us to the engine room, then I'll explain" Katrep nods at her "yes ma'am".

The Doctor and Davros stand together inside the darkroom.

The Doctor then looks at Davros and says "please, give me something and I'll give you something" Davros then smiles at The Doctor and says "which is?" The Doctor sighs "keys to the planet below, how about that?" Davros says "you would give us an entire planet, just for information?" The Doctor nods at Davros "I would, as long as you promise to up your radiation field, let me take the Thals back home" Davros stares at The Doctor "the Daleks know something, rumours they've heard" The Doctor then nods "which is what?".

Inside the engine room, Kathy looks at Katrep "alright, let's get down to business" Katrep then says "which is what?" Kathy says "you said the Daleks can bounce off radiation when it's a gas? What if we could turn it into a liquid?" Katrep scoffs "how would we even do that?" Kathy then points her arms out and says "can you not feel the heat in this room? Once time unfreezes, we overload the engines, put them on full power, more heat will generate in this room, but we turn on the air conditioning outside in the ship-" Katrep then says "condensation" Kathy nods "would it work?" Katrep smirks "damn right it will".

Katrep runs over to a panel, but Kathy then puts her hand on Katrep's and says "you realise what it'll mean?" Katrep looks at Kathy "the Thals inside here are already dead, they've been exposed, we were just in the line of safety, we are offering my people a quick and painless death, but for The Daleks, a painful death!" Kathy nods "The Doctor is out there, how will we keep him safe?" Katrep then looks on a camera and says "The Doctor's in the control room, I can isolate the room, locking the doors so he won't go out, but he'll be trapped with Davros and the Supreme Dalek" Kathy nods "we have to stop as many of them as we can" Katrep nods "this is the way".

Inside the darkroom, Davros then says "a Dalek, it was searching the planet of Barock...it located someone who spoke of you, and they said...it is returning, it has returned, it's coming for you, it's already captured some of you, all your incarnations are in danger, some are already gone" The Doctor stares at Davros "what does that mean?" Davros then says "that is all I know, the Dalek was then killed by her" The Doctor looks at Davros "her?" Davros says "a ti-".

The Doctor and Davros' eyes open back in the Dalek Control Room, Davros looks around as alarms are blaring off.

A Dalek in the control room then shouts "RADIATION ALERT!".

Another Dalek shouts "SHIP IS REVERSING FROM THE PLANET!".

The Supreme Dalek then says "room is sealed...what is happening...explain...EXPLAIN!".

The Doctor runs over to a panel and he then says "ship in reverse, good...traces of...liquid radiation...not good!".

The Doctor runs over to the door, but he says "ah, yes...you have been sealed-".

Katrep's voice is then heard over a speaker and says "Doctor, we had no choice, the Daleks had to pay" The Doctor then says "what have you done?" Katrep says "radiation condensation, it's killing all the Daleks outside" The Doctor stares in shock "AND YOUR PEOPLE!" Katrep then says "the Thals outside were already dead".

The Supreme Dalek then shouts "EXTERMINATE THE DOCTOR!".

The Doctor looks at Davros, then back the door and he says "you can do this Doctor".

The Doctor pulls his Sonic Screwdriver out and he unlocks the sealed door.

The Doctor runs out, into the radiated hallway, he locks the door behind him.

Back in the engine room, Kathy looks at Katrep "he'll die!" Katrep looks at the camera nervously, but the camera then switches off.

Kathy looks around nervously "what have we done?" Katrep stares at her.

Suddenly, a massive gust of wind is felt inside the engine room.

Katrep and Kathy turn around, where they see the Tardis materialising inside the room.

Kathy and Katrep run into the Tardis.

Katrep's eyes open in shock as he then laughs "oh my god" Kathy nods "yeah".

Kathy then looks over at the console and she sees The Doctor and says "how are you alive?" The Doctor says "pure luck, I can withstand some radiation, and some I can extract, but I can't believe you would do that! I told you to reverse the engines, pull us away from the planet, not kill everyone!" Katrep looks at The Doctor "be honest, the Daleks have to be stopped, no questions, whether you like to kill or not Doctor" The Doctor stares at Katrep "Thals are supposed to be peaceful!" Katrep nods "maybe that should change" The Doctor stares at him.

The Tardis materialises on Skaro.

Katrep looks at The Doctor who stands at the console. The Doctor then says "out" Katrep looks at The Doctor "what?" The Doctor then says "you're home, get out" Kathy sighs "Doctor! It was my idea! I came up with the idea to kill the Daleks, don't blame him" The Doctor looks at Kathy "if it wasn't for the fact that you can't go home at the minute, you would be going home too...now Katrep, out!" Katrep looks at Kathy "good luck" Kathy looks at Katep with tears in her eyes "bye".

Katrep walks outside, and as he shuts the door, the Tardis starts to dematerialise.

Katrep walks away, and into the forest.

Kathy stands near the doors as The Doctor is walking around the console, piloting it.

Kathy then says "I'm sorry". The Doctor continues piloting the Tardis.

Kathy then shouts "I'M SORRY!".

The Doctor moves away from the console and he shouts "HOW DARE YOU! I brought you here to keep you safe as I try and find out what is happening to my timeline, why people are forgetting me...and you take it into your hands to decide who lives and who dies! Davros was giving me something, information!" Kathy stares at him "and what did he say?" The Doctor sighs "he gave me the name of a planet where a Dalek found out information about me, we'll try there next!" Kathy looks at The Doctor "what about the Daleks then? They're gone now" The Doctor then says "they're never gone, Davros, the Supreme and three other Daleks were in that control room, so your plan didn't work!".

Kathy then says "and what about the time freeze thing? Who did that?" The Doctor then says "I don't know, but someone did, I have a feeling we're going to find out at some point" Kathy stares at The Doctor. The Doctor then says "someone clearly didn't want us to die" Kathy nods at him.

The Doctor then says "let's get to this planet!".

On the planet Marcey, the Dalek ship lays crashed on a massive desert.

Davros, the Supreme and three Silver and Black Daleks then exit the ship.

Davros smells the radiated air and says "we are home".

The Supreme Dalek then looks at the Daleks and says "send out a recruit alert, all Daleks are to ascend to this planet, we will rise again!".

A beeping sound is heard on the console, The Doctor then walks over to the monitor and he says "well, that is strange" Kathy looks at him "what is it?" The Doctor then says "the Tardis is trying to take us elsewhere" Kathy looks at The Doctor confused "what do you mean?" The Doctor then pushes some more buttons trying to divert the Tardis, but a lever flicks up on its own.

The Tardis then tilts to its side and one of the doors to the hallway opens, Kathy then slides down the floor of the Tardis screaming "DOCTOR!".

The Doctor watches Kathy falling through the console and down a hallway as he holds onto the console.

Next Time - Final Leep - As The Doctor tries to fix the Tardis, the Tardis fights back causing him to reflect on the past. Kathy is lost in the Tardis but with the Tardis flying throughout time and space, Kathy's past is catching up to her.
