It really is a new world!

Seiichi was looking at Charlotte who has finally calmed down and breathed a sigh of relief.

When he first saw her, he was really happy that one of his favorite characters is in front of him, but then he saw her staring at him with fear filled eyes and that made him panic.

He thought the previous Seiichi did something bad to her and now he will have to bear her hating him, but looking at her who is now sitting calmly, he realized that he still has a chance.

"Are you okay…?" He said looking up at her and saw that she was also staring at him. He was feeling rather awkward now, but someone had to say something.

Charlotte just nodded her head while still staring at him. Normally she would have looked down or at least away from him, but currently she feels that the Seiichi in front of her is very different from the Seiichi who she saw yesterday.

Although she never had a conversation with him, she always used to observe him. It is what she does instinctively, just like she learned while living in France. In her eyes, Seiichi yesterday was like an annoyed young master who hated even looking at her and wanted her to go away as soon as possible, while the Seiichi now who is looking at her awkwardly is like a confused kid who doesn't know what's going on but is worried about her.

The difference between them is like Macarons and Macaroon, Macarons are French sandwich cookies that may have different flavors and are filled with a creamy filling. Macaroons are made of shredded coconut without any filling.

"So, you believe me?" Seiichi suddenly said interrupting her thoughts as he was feeling very awkward with every passing second.

Charlotte who was interrupted from her thoughts heard his question and hesitate to answer. Although it can be said that Seiichi never did something to her but that is not enough for her to trust him, Seiichi also noticed this and let out a helpless sigh.

"It's okay, you can always observe me and then decided if you can trust me or not" Seiichi said to her with a helpless look. Although not the desired result but he was still happy that at least she is not hating him, trust and other stuff can be built with time.

"Let's leave this for now, can you tell me some common stuff about the world, I mean, I lost my memory and all" Seiichi asked suddenly getting serious. When he saw the news regarding Space Quakes, he thought that he was in Date a Live world, but now looking at Charlotte who is a character of another franchise completely, he is not sure anymore.

His first priority now is to get information and learn about the common sense of the world, and who is better than the girl sitting in front of him?

"Okay…" Although Charlotte still had doubts regarding this whole memory loss scenario, but she had no choice but to trust him in this as nothing else can explain why the Seiichi in front of her is so different. With that in mind she began her explanation,

"It all started in the year 2025, two big powers of the world were having a conflict with each other, many negotiations were held to come to a mutual understanding but none were successful. With every passing month their conflict slowly started to turn into grudges and both decided to make the other accept their demands with force. This led to a war between the two countries and huge amount of destruction was being done, and as if that was not enough, other countries started to take sides and joined the war, and slowly the whole world got involved which resulted in what we now call the beginning of the end of humankind, the Third World War" She stopped for some time to let him digest the information and then continued,

"After the war, the world population was reduced by a whole forty percent, and this made the leaders of the world realize how close they were walk in the road of ending humanity. So, all the countries in the world signed an agreement of no war and things started to become peaceful. But the peace did not last long as without war, all the anger that was in the countries did not have any way to reduce. And that's when someone came forward, Shinonono Tabane, a once in a century genius who provided everyone with mechs called Infinite Stratos, which was then used as a sport between countries making it their let out for every grudge they had. Slowly this became the center of attraction and everyone wanted to own an I.S. for themselves, but then they realized something that changed the power system of the world, the I.S. can only be piloted by girls, and because of this, girls started rising in power while men were being looked down upon and although with time many laws were passed for their safety the effects are still in the air." She paused to let him get used to the information again. Seiichi who heard this frowned, he wanted to ask many things regarding this but decided to stay silent and let Charlotte continue her explanation.

"The I.S. became a norm for everyone, girls also started to enroll in the academies that were specially opened to train people for becoming an I.S. Pilot. This continued for a long time, and people thought this is what the new world would be like, and while people were still adapting to all this, another big thing happened that brought another huge change to the world, the occurrence of Space Quakes. The first one appeared suddenly, and killed millions of people, scientists are still trying to understand the cause, but are unable to find any. All people could do now is hide in the shelters provided by the country whenever the Space Quakes occurs." And with that Charlotte finished her explanation.

She explained to him everything she knew about the world, from how things started to how things are, and what are the current affairs. Seiichi also listened to her attentively, he was very curious about how this world would turn out and lucky for him Charlotte was a great story teller, making him completely lose himself in the series of information he was being provided with.

'It really is a new world!' He thought excited about his future adventures. He was also grateful to Charlotte as she readily told him everything she knew about, but unknown to him, she has not shared everything with him, there are still some hidden secrets that she left unsaid.
