Charlotte Dunois

"Good morning, Seiichi" Charlotte said to Seiichi with a smile on her face.

She was startled when she saw him standing right in front of her room and thought maybe he wanted to enter her room without asking her for permission, but she instantly discarded the idea.

She moved in this house last week. She thought she should at least get acquainted with him, so she approached him and introduced herself but all he did was glance at her then left.

Seeing that she was treated so coldly she thought that this person does not want anything to do with her, so she also left him alone as he wanted and did not disturb him at all. That is why she is surprised when she found him suddenly standing in front of her room.

"Do you need something, Seiichi?" she asked using her voice to sound like a boy, as she was disguised as one because of her father's request.

"Good morning, Charlotte" Seiichi said with a smile on his face completely stopping her thought process and making her body freeze on the spot.

Charlotte's body started to tremble, and she slowly looked up at him.

"H-how?!" She said looking at him with fear in her eyes. No one except her and her father knew about her real gender let alone her cousin who was standing in front of her. So, when she heard him call her by her real name, huge amount of fear instantly invaded her heart!

Seiichi who knew his last name is also Dunois from the chat group guessed he was a relative of her, so he casually said her real name in the greeting and did not think much about it but when he saw Charlotte looking at him with great fear, he became dumbfounded!

"Clam down, my intention was purely to greet you not to scare you like this" Seiichi said trying to calm the scared girl in front of him. He thought as he was her relative, he would know about the real Charlotte, but guess he was wrong.

He saw that despite his attempts to make her calm, he was still being stared by those fearful eyes.

"I will just go wait in the kitchen, when you calm down, please come there, as we really have a lot to talk about" he said sighing to himself and turning and leaving towards the kitchen.

Charlotte who was still staring at Seiichi with a scared look saw him disappear with the turn, and with scared eyes she went inside her room.

Seiichi was now sitting on the dining table, drinking water and waiting for Charlotte to show up.

He is currently thinking of a way to pacify Charlotte's fears. Normally, he should not have any issues in dealing with this situation as he is now her relative and most probably brother, but he knew about Charlotte's family circumstances from the anime, and although some things may differ, but when he saw Charlotte giving him that fear filled look when he called her by her real name directly, he became sure that her treatment at least has not changed.

And the thing which is scaring him the most is the thought of previous Seiichi doing the same to her.

He wanted to think of a concrete solution for his problems but then he heard footsteps coming from outside making him turn his head towards the door as he knew that Charlotte is now coming.

What came from the door is a girl, a very beautiful girl. Her blonde hair which was tied before was now freefalling reaching her waist and she who was wearing boy's pajama was now looking very attractive in a blue dress.

Seiichi whose brain was directly hit with the heavenly image was frozen on the spot. His gaze was now stuck on her figure looking at it like it won't miss a single detail of her body.

"Eto…" Charlotte noticing his gaze fidgeted a bit, and had a red dust cover her cheeks. She knew that Seiichi now already knows her real identity, so she decided to discard her disguise and wore one of the few girl's clothes that she brought with her.

Seiichi hearing her instantly recovered and gestured her to sit opposite to him, which Charlotte followed and while seated continued her nervous behavior.

"Please calm down, I promise you I really have no ill intentions towards you" Seiichi said, trying to again calm the fidgeting girl. He knew If she does not stop, they will be stuck here forever.

Charlotte still looked at him with fear but seeing his serious gaze she knew he was not lying and finally calmed down. Her experience of living with her father has given her enough insight on human nature, and although she won't say she is an expert, she is at least confident in identifying who is telling the truth.

"Now please listen to me first and don't interrupt, I will answer all of your questions at the end" Seiichi seeing that she finally listened to him decided it is time he starts speaking.

Charlotte merely nodded without letting out any sound, showing that she was still scared but this was enough for Seiichi for now.

"Then I will be blunt, I don't remember anything" Seiichi said bluntly without mincing his words.

As Seiichi had no time to even come up with a plan, he decided to use the universal reasoning of an isekai person: Memory loss.

"What do you mean?" Charlotte asked confused, she knew what his words meant but she did not understand what he means by not remembering anything.

"I lost my memory, When I woke up, I only recalled what my name is, my language, how to use a phone, what is food and other basic stuff, but other than that I don't remember anything" Seiichi said and continued to be blunt. He knew talking in circles with a person who does not trust you one bit will only add fuel to the fire and the distance between them will only increase, and he did not want that.

He wanted to be a close person in Charlotte's life. He does not know if he wants to make her his lover or not, but he knew that he wanted to be her friend. A person she can be open with.

Charlotte was stunned! She thought that he will surely blackmail her using it as his trump card, but she never guessed he will say he lost his memories. Then she remembered his unusual behavior today and for a moment she thought he was telling the truth, but then a question suddenly hit her.

"How did you know my real name?" She asked him directly not believing a word he said.

"I don't know" Seiichi listening to her suspicion on him just shook his head. He is not a smart person, so he cannot always come up with a good reason to handle any situation, because of that he decided to act like a helpless person.

Charlotte squinted her eyes at him to see any form of deception, but all she got was him helplessly looking at her. She does not believe a word he said but she cannot do anything about it. If he really forgot everything, though she would feel bad, but she will at least be relived, but if he is lying to her, she would have to go through those torture sessions again.

Just remembering the torture, she had to go through, her body started to shake violently, but then she felt someone suddenly hold her hand and she looked up to see it was Seiichi.

"Charlotte, I don't know what my previous self-did to you, I don't know your reason to disguise as a boy, but I know one thing is that I don't like seeing you scared and frightened. If you are angry with me throw insults at me all you want but please trust me this time" Seiichi said positioning himself near her and looking at her directly in the eyes.

Charlotte who was shaking calmed down due to Seiichi touch and looked him in the eyes. Seeing his serious expression and eyes that contained only sincere feelings, she looked down only to nod her head after a few seconds.
