New World

Chapter 17

First and foremost we can knock out Highschool DXD, although the magic there is extremely powerful and could be helpful I still haven't had a good enough chance to know the extent of my powers. With the amount of powerful people there and with Selene being an Asguardian and Dawn a dragon I worry about the amount of attention we will draw to ourselves. I could always store Dawn in my body and always feed her whenever she needs food but I would like for her to gain combat experience.

If someone finds out that there's a new tamed dragon I'm on the top of everyone's buddy list trying to be recruited to every different faction. If I choose a side I'm on everyone else's hit list. In the end I believe that the cons outweigh the pros for what I have in mind when I choose my next world. That's also not even taking into account if someone found out that Selene is related to Odin.

Game of Thrones is definitely a potential beginning. I will have a steady food supply of people and cattle for Dawn to eat. It will also be easy to find people to test my magic on and there is also magic in the world of GOT that I'm sure I could learn. 

I've also always wondered how I would look sitting on that Iron Throne; GOT was by far one of my favorite shows and I have extensive knowledge not only from the show but from the books as well. If I choose this world I can think of multiple potential easy achievements that I can do to get rewards from the system and a clear goal to work towards. The only problem I can see coming to me in the world is the so-called "accommodations" the system is giving me because of my increased power.

Tokyo Ghoul is a more difficult one just because I don't know what I would work towards in that world. I don't wish to turn into a ghoul and as much as it pains me to say I haven't even finished the whole thing.

Vampire Diaries is another that has the potential of giving me good rewards just because of the sheer amount of times I've rewatched it. The only problem I can see coming to me is the thousand year old vampires that I'm still unsure if I can beat and the fact that the system said that it will change the world. The magic there is also a force to be reckoned with if learned it so there is a good potential powerboost 

My final choices are Game of Thrones and Vampire Diaries. In one I might learn some minor magic but my dragon will be able to feast like a king and I could potentially be able to find multiple achievements. With my other option I could learn powerful magic but the amount of combat Dawn would see may be limited. In the end if the choice is between Dawn and I gaining power the option would be obvious but the amount of chaos I can cause also plays a substantial role in where I go.

Reading over my options one last time I give a silent prayer hoping that I'm making the right choice before clicking on Vampire Diaries. It's the second most powerful magic world I can go to and I'm not getting involved with the DXD world until I know the extent of my powers.   

World selected Vampire Diaries. Companions will be automatically brought to and from the selected world. Are you sure you would like to go to the selected world?

Looking over the new screen I tap yes watching as the screen disintegrates quickly being replaced with a new one.  

World transfer will be commencing in 60...59...58 

Sitting down I watch as the timer slowly counts down. Reaching zero a wave of tiredness washes over my body as I collapse into unconsciousness.

Opening my eyes I stare out an unfamiliar window, my forehead bouncing against it roughly as I look out staring at the thick green forest covered in a sheet of fog that the sun struggles to find a place to break through.

"How was your rest master?" Turning in my seat I stare at Selene who's gazing at me with a small resting small concern in her eyes as she holds my hand. Looking at her outfit she's wearing tight skinny jeans that emphasize her curves and a loose dark green t-shirt her hair still pulled back in a French braid. 

"I'm doing good Selene, thank you for asking but how are you, do you feel ok?" I ask, narrowing my eyes as she nods her head. In her backstory I wrote that she knows about my life how I am able to transfer to these new worlds and how she comes with but now I am more concerned that she is at one hundred percent. I still don't know how my world travel affects the people around me and it would be an issue if it has any negative effects.

"Of course I am Master, but are you ok? I know that transferring worlds can be very strenuous for you." Looking down examining my body, all the dirt, grime, dried blood, dragon tattoo of Dawn, and my shaggy hair is unchanged by the transfer of worlds.

"Yes I'm fine Selene I just need to get freshened up and need a change of clothes." 

"Of course master I can get you freshened up once we arrive home but I have clothes for you now." Watching Selene reach into a small brown tattered sack she pulls out a pair of underwear, shorts, and a plane white t-shirt.

"Home?" I question getting dressed only now checking my surroundings realizing that we're sitting in a nice leather interior limo with flashing LED lights looking behind me staring at the bald driver with tinted sunglasses.

"The system sends it's congratulations on a successful world transfer and wishes you good luck on your future here." He says while giving me a thick booklet of papers. 

"Look through this half and tell me what you read. I will read through this half." "Yes Master," She responds dutifully taking the papers I split in half as I quickly skim through mine realizing that they're deeds to a house in my and Selene's name. What's going on? Where are we going, what is the system planning, what did the system change? 

"It doesn't matter." I say throwing the paper's of the Victorian Style house to the floor of the car looking over at Selene who is quickly reading through the pages of her papers. At the end of the day it doesn't matter what the system changed, all that matters is that I have the strength to face it. 

Watching as Selene quickly finishes reading her papers she hands the finished half to me. 

"These are the documents of our identification such as birth certificates, ID's, legal documents that say I am your legal guardian, as well as your papers for school, and banking information." She says with a dutiful smile. I am happy with how she turned out her appearance and her personality seems to be just how I imagined her but I've yet to see her… darker side that she'll never feel towards me.

"I see," I mutter looking at my school form for Robert E Lee high school my junior year. The first thing I have to do is figure out what season of Vampire Diaries I'm in and afterwards I'll decide my future course of action. If there's one thing that will lead me to finding out where I am in the timeline is school. "How long was I out for?"

"Around a day, I woke up and we were already in the car. The driver said that we would arrive home in around a day and a half so we will be there in around half a day." I made her dutiful and devoted to serving me and she enjoys every second but she's also smart and doesn't have to rely on me to get by. 

"Well then it looks like we'll have to wait and see then." Resting my head back on the headrest Selene scooches towards me resting her head on my shoulder holding my arm as I tilt my head resting my cheek on her head.

Looking out the window I stare out at the Victorian style houses, kids all scattered around the street playing games with one another as I closely monitor the houses until we stop in front of a house similar to the one in the picture. Watching as the movers move furniture inside I take notice of the nice all black Mercedes parked next to the movers van. 

"This is the final stop, the system wishes you luck." The driver says as I step out of the limo Selene closely following behind me as I stare out at the white two story house. 

"So this is home huh." I mutter to myself walking up the slightly slanted driveway one of the movers stopping to tell Selene and I that they just finished moving the last items inside. This is really weird. I didn't expect the system to give me anything other than my achievements but it gave me a whole life here. 

Watching as all the movers clear out of the house I walk into the house Selene following closely behind me by a single step. Walking into the house the smell of new furniture fills my nose as I walk into a large open room with stairs going to the second floor and a large family room to my left furnished with leather couches and chairs with a nice white fuzzy rug and an older or new for this time plasma T-V in the corner. Walking past the family area my shoes click on the stone tile floor before we enter the main living room and a nice fully redone kitchen with granite countertops the keys to the house and the Mercedes resting on them.

"Is there anything you wish to be done Master?" Selene asks as I continue to examine the house.

"Yes draw a shower please, I wish to get cleaned up." I say as Selene begins to walk away with a bow before calling out one last request. "Oh and when there are people around do not refer to me as Master; it is Theo when there are people around unless I say otherwise and if anyone asks we are cousins my parents and brother died in a fire and you have gained guardianship." Hearing Selene say her understanding I begin to explore the rest of the house.

Overall it is a normal upper middle class house four bedroom three bathroom there's only one other place that I've yet to look. Holding my hand on the door handle I give it a squeeze and turn before walking down the wooden steps, the drywall around them turning to red brick as I walk into the spacious brick basement. Looking around the large area that's completely void of any furniture the six glass doors drawing all of my attention.

Walking up to the six glass doors, three on either side of the room all parallel to one another, the doors enter to a small wine cellar completely clear of any wine. This could be very useful to me in the future, all I have to do is do a little bit of modifications to the wine cellars and it will be perfect to store prisoners. 

Hearing a knock at the door I walk to the bottom of the stairway and look up at Selene bowing at the top.

"Your shower is ready Master." She says before I climb up the steps quickly thanking her.

Sitting back still in the chair my eyes closed I feel the cold steel glide across my face Selene giving me a nice closed even shave. 

"Selene I have a job for you, in the basement there are six rooms for wine. I need you to reinforce the room to make it so even the strongest won't be able to escape. Also find a way to reinforce the whole basement we will use that area to train"

"Of course Master I will do this at once." She says in her dutiful tone as she finishes the shave, wiping my face as I open my eyes staring at my naked body in the mirror. My hair having been cut all the old black dye gone only my golden blonde hair remaining combed neatly back the dragon tattoo still on my chest while a new all black snake tattoo is on my shoulder seemingly coming when Apep gave me my powers.

Selene offered to bathe me but there's too much to do right now. I'll have time for pleasantries when I know what is going on in this world. 

Excusing Selene after she dresses me she leaves going to do whatever it is Selene does whenever she's not serving me more than likely trying to find a way to reinforce the basement I reach into my inventory pulling out The Snakes Studies. 

Looking at the black book with The Snakes Studies engraved in the front the letters all golden snakes I flip to the front page reading Chapter One: An Introduction To The Dark Arts

It is time to learn magic…
