Devils x Dragons x Dad

A popular, but normal, Biology teacher at Kuoh Academy. Or at least that's what Rias Gremory used to think of the man. And yet, as she sees him healing a dying Hyoudou Isane, the threads holding the secrets of the man begin unraveling one by one. --- Author Note: 1. It will take some time to get to know the protagonist's past. I ask for the readers' patience. Also, it seems like I'll probably be writing the story through the eyes of other characters. 2. I pretty much wrote this story with only the protagonist's backstory planned out. The rest of the stuff I'm making up as I go along. I hope everyone has fun reading it. Sorry if any characters seem OOC. 3. Also, gender-bent characters. Why? No reason really. Just felt like it. Chapter 4 - Y Ddraig Goch regrets picking a fight with God

Isane Hyoudou POV –

When I regained my senses after my breakdown in the PTA room, I realized instantly that I was in my bedroom. It was hard not to, with all the glorious posters of oppai on the wall.

I was lying on my bed, my head lying on Mother's lap as I felt her gently running her fingers through my hair. The room was dark save for the light from the singly lit bedlamp. I glanced outside through the gap in the window curtain and confirmed that it was indeed nighttime.

"Ugh!" A hoarse groan left my mouth as I recalled all the things that happened today, and felt deeply embarrassed. Of course, my accursed stomach decided that it was a good moment to add to my misery, and let out what felt like a deafening roar.

A deep whine left my throat as I heard Mom chuckle softly. I pouted indignantly, only for my eyes to widen in surprise as a familiar-looking bottle was set down in front of me. I perked up as I recalled the delicious drink from the afternoon and called out, somewhat excitedly.

"The nectar of the Gods!"

Ignoring Mom's laughter, I pulled myself up, hurriedly popped open the lid, and began chugging rapidly.

"Pwah! I feel alive!" I exclaimed even as I gazed longingly at the now-finished bottle.

"I can make some more for you later. Sensei taught me the recipe, and left the ingredients as well." I cheered with raised fists as Mom delivered the only good news I got that day, and I felt like I seriously would have kissed Sensei if he were not a guy. However, there was an obvious, better alternative.

"Mom, why don't you just marry Sensei? It's the best of both worlds… Ow!"

Mom flicked my forehead as she asked in mock annoyance, "Are you seriously considering selling your poor mother for food?!"

I chuckled and teased her. "Speaking of food, don't think that I didn't see the eyes you were making at Sensei in the PTA room. It felt like you'd eat him up if I weren't there… Oww!"

This time, Mom properly thwacked my head as I cried out. "Please, not the head! Anywhere but the head! I'll become dumb!"

Her cheeks inflamed red, Mom scolded me. "How could you say that about your Mom?! Also, your Sensei is a married man. Did you take your Mom to be a homewrecker?"

I giggled and sing-songed. "Aha~ So, you are interested after all!"

Mom retorted by pulling my cheeks viciously. I made it even by tickling her sides.

As the laughter and the boisterousness finally died down, I asked Mother a question as we sat next to each other, my head resting on her shoulders.

"Did Sensei bring me here today?"

"Hmm…" She nodded in affirmation.

I groaned out loud. "Man, a lot of people must have seen me unconscious then. How uncool."

"...Not really." I looked toward Mom at the unexpected answer and found her looking… confused, for lack of a better word.

"Then?" I urged her.

"Well, we were there in the PTA room one moment. The next moment, we were in the hall downstairs."

My mouth fell in surprise… "Teleportation? Seriously?! But then Sensei talked about seals and whatnot as well… So, like what, magic is real?"

Mom nodded but then looked… troubled as she hesitated to speak.

"Mom? Is everything alright?"

"Isane… dear, do you remember what happened yesterday?" She asked, trepidation clear in her voice.

Yesterday… my face crumpled. How could I even forget something like that?

I wished I could.

"Y– Yuuma chan." My voice trembled. Mom nodded, but then shook her head and said, "Her real name is Raynare."

"Heh… Ahahahaha" I chuckled slightly before what could only be described as the deranged laughter of a madwoman escaped my throat. Tears spilled down my eyes, as I choked, stuttered, and laughed manically.

"So… so even the name… even the name was fake." I pushed my head into Mother's chest and cried. "Why… Why did she do it?! What have I done wrong… Why am I being punished like this?"

"Isane, look at me… daughter please!" Mom held my face, looked into my wet eyes, and said forcibly. "There is nothing wrong with you! Do you hear me?! Nothing! That thing was just a lunatic who wanted to hurt you. Nothing more, nothing less."

"But why… why me?" I asked weakly.

[That… would be because of me.]

"Eep!" I recoiled in shock as a third voice suddenly sounded in the room. Then…

"Aaah!" I screamed and leaped out of the bed as some weird red thing appeared on my hand. I vigorously waved my hand around, trying to get it off, to no avail.

[...Well, that is a first.]

"Mister Ddraig. Please don't scare my daughter."

[Yeah. Mm, didn't expect this happening. Sorry, Mama Hyoudou.]

I gawped as Mom talked calmly with, or rather, scolded the strange voice coming from my hand.

Am I the weird one here?!

[Anyways, It's nice meeting you for the first time, partner.]

"P–partner? What do you mean? Who are you? What are you?! Are you the thing on my hand… and what do you mean, Yuuma, no Raynare tried to…" I choked.

[Easy on the questions, brat. I'll explain everything. First of all, introductions are in order. My name is Y DDraig Goch, the Red Dragon Emperor. I am known by many names to the world, but for you, my partner, just Ddraig will do.]

"Many names? But I've never heard of you before…" I mumbled, only to recoil in fear as the 'dragon' roared.

[I AM EVEN ON THE GODDAMN FLAG OF WALES, YOU FUCKING BRAT!]

"Language!"

[...Sorry, Mama Hyoudou. I got… passionate. Anyways, that bit–, *cough* don't you remember anything odd about her? Like, say, wings?]

Looking at Mom's face that shifted from disapproving to encouraging, I frowned and tried focusing on yesterday. Not the date… no matter how much my heart still wanted it to not be a farce. Not the hurtful things, she said… even though my head kept on playing those on a loop.

"Ah. Black wings… and some weird solid light-like weapon?" I mumbled. Looking up, I asked. "So what, Raynare is a… tengu? Yokai are real, then?"

[No, not a Tengu. A fallen angel. You do know what angels are, right?]

"Hey, that's uncalled for! I've seen them in… games."

[Games… right.] He drawled knowingly. My face flushed in embarrassment. [Anyways, she's one of those angels who disobeyed God's orders and fell from his grace. That's why her wings are black… By the way, Tengu are real too. As a matter of fact, most of the things you'd have read as mythology are more or less real. Including Gods. All of them. Your, no… our concern lies with the Abrahamic religion at the moment.]

"Abra… what?"

[Not the Pokemon, you smooth-brained creature. I'm talking about the Christians, the Jews, and the Muslims. The God they worship, as well as the angels, the fallen, and the devils.]

"O..Ooh. Wait, how do you know about Pokemon?"

[...]

"Ddraig?"

"Ppft." I heard Mom giggle for some reason.

What?

[Sigh. Anyways, a long time ago, there was a great war between the three factions. Coincidently, me and my rival, Albion, were nearby and fighting each other during their final fight. We ended up intruding into the battlefield, and things devolved rapidly from there. To make things short… the pair of us died. Our bodies were destroyed, and our souls were sealed in an artifact each. These two artifacts, among others like them, are known as Sacred Gears. Every Sacred Gear has some unique power. God decided, for some reason, to distribute these gears to you humans at birth via Gacha. And hence, you Hyoudou Isane, ended up with the possession of the Boosted gear, the gauntlet on your hand.]

"...You also know about Gacha?"

[Listen here, you little shit–]

I giggled. "Sorry… Sorry, I couldn't resist. So, then…" I traced my finger over the curves of the gauntlet. "Raynare tried to kill me because of this? But why?"

Ddraig scoffed. Loudly. [Hardly. She thought you had a weak Sacred Gear, one not worth making an offer to join their faction. But she also didn't want their rivals, the angels or the devils, to have you. If you'd ask me though, all this is horseshit, and that fallen was just a sadist that liked hurting humans.]

"Oh… So you're weak?"

[Gah! Listen here, you brat! The Boosted Gear is one of the thirteen Longinus! Thirteen of the strongest sacred gears! The only one weak here is you! You wouldn't even have been able to wake me up normally with your strength if it weren't for that brat with the Twilight Healing sacred gear.]

"Thirteen, huh, that's quite a lot… what's your rank? Thirteen? Twelve?"

[....]

"Ddraig?"

[...I regret picking a fight with God.]

"Isane." Mom gave me a disapproving look.

I smiled sheepishly.

"Who's the brat you're talking about though?"

[Your 'Sensei'. He has a sub-species of the healing sacred gear, Twilight healing, it seems. Really, you should be thankful to that kid. Apart from saving your life yesterday, he undid all that damage you did to your body from your self-destructive lifestyle. It's also why you've been so hungry today. Your body urgently needs the nutrients. That brat did some really nifty modifications to your body as well. Enough that you should reach High class at the very least, in record time.]

"Wait… Sensei changed my body?! Mom!! Where is Sensei?"

"He left after explaining the things you're listening to right now. Said something about getting compensation for his student."

[With how pissed off that brat was, I'm sure he'll rip the Grigori a new one, at least financially. They don't even have a leg to stand on, considering they trespassed and took hostile action in someone else's territory. And before you ask, Grigori is the faction of the fallen angels. Still, why do you ask?]

"If Sensei can modify my body, then I can have the oppai of my dreams! Like Rias, or Akeno!"

[...Of course, it comes to that in the end. Also, I'm sure those two aren't natural.]

"What?! Impossible! I'm 100% sure those oppai are definitely not silicon!"

[I meant those two aren't humans, you fleabrained creature. They're devils. They're shapeshifters whose bodies slowly become as they envision.]

"Oh, so they're supernatural oppai?"

[Kill me now…]
