Chapter 81: Grand Blisscade

The piece that Haru tasted was bitter in his tongue, but he thought it tasted great.

It had some kind of effect similar to alcohol and he was satisfied with that. He never tasted any alcohol because of his trauma caused by his brother, but it felt like he knew that this must be how it actually tastes like.

His memories began surging through his head and along with the bitterness, he couldn't pay attention to the pain any longer.

He was just looking straight ahead to the truth without fear or hesitation.

The knife that he had in his hand appealed to him as he was walking away.

In his contemplation and pondering, he reached a dark forest wherein he trembled out of fright.

It was natural to be frightened of the unknown, but looking back, maybe it wasn't the unknown in the darkness of the forest that he feared back then, but the unknown of his heart.

It was swirling with confusion and several things he could do there, but he doesn't know which way his mind is striding to. He stared at the silver knife and back at the abyss of the forest and they have seemed to agree with the similar intention.

They just wanted to convey death.

Haru looked up, trying to find some source of light, thinking that maybe someone might want to stop him from doing stupid things and actually save him. But Haru thought he was already plagued with something that could never heal no matter what.

"I want to die," He whispered back to the little light from the twinkling star mischievously winking at him. "This will take my misery out, won't it? I'm correct, am I not? Tell me what to do…"

But he already knew what to do.

He pointed the knife to himself, intending to commit suicide. It felt like his life had flashed once again through his mind at that point and he couldn't ignore every single image it showed.

It was at that point that a strange breeze had caught his attention. It could be argued that this strange thing might have saved him and was actually the light in disguise, which he sought for earlier in his contemplation.

It was as if the air and space has warped, producing a blackish circle, which expanded to the size of a human.

It turned into an eerie-looking portal.

Despite how it looked, Haru thought it was elegant and comforting.

It's as if that blackness understood his own sadness and plight that he wanted to immediately jump in to that danger.

His senses were electrified and all his sense of reasoning were clouded.

If he were someone who just came out from that orphanage, being brought to another family's house, he'd have ignored this portal and walked away like he hadn't seen anything.

But now, it felt like his whole life depends on that portal.

He dropped the knife and let the black portal swallow his whole being. He had lost his consciousness and when he woke up again, it felt like he could still feel the presence of that portal.

It was coming to a certain source, linking it to his heart and flesh. He just knew.
