Chapter 3: Exorcists and Assassins? Part 2
"Enshino!" Cens shouted at me as I held Seiya up to Dante's throat, his face ridden with fear and anger. He'd probably been wondering how I managed to get his barrier down, or thinking of how he'll get out of this. Either way, he won't be getting out of this. "Enshino sheathe your blade at once!" Cens shouted. I simply sighed and looked over to him. "Vice President, 'When attacked, one must fight back and claim victory with the life of their opponent, or their declaration of surrender.' That's a quote said among the World Military. Dante picked a fight with me, so he'll get his outcome for it. I'm asking you to kindly stay out of this," I replied as I looked back to Dante, who'd been gritting his teeth. "Well, do you give up? Or should I make you concede?" I asked.
Before he could respond, I heard the sound of an arrow being drawn and fired straight at me. I quickly dodged out of the way, giving Dante room to breathe again. The arrow had looked to be made from the same energy as Dante's weapons. More Holy Magic?
"The only person who will either concede or be killed here will be you..." a voice said as someone emerged from Dante's shadow. It was a girl about my height with amber hair and eyes that were a beautiful crimson. She'd also been holding a large black and golden bow, with its golden parts oozing a golden light out. "And just who the hell are you supposed to be?" I asked as I lowered the temperature of Seiya's blade to the point where it'd been colder than dry ice in seconds.
"My name doesn't matter, all that does is that you'll suffer for what you've done to First Master Dante!" She said, raising her bow and quickly forming an arrow of the same golden light Dante's weapon's had been made from. A second Holy Mage? This is just perfect. "All life born from the heavens, taken by the world below. All souls born from darkness and hope, taken by evil and despair. Take shape and redefine the laws of this cruel existence, my Heaven-Piercing Arrow! DISCHARGE!" the girl shouted as the single arrow multiplied into hundreds and released. In response, I slammed Seiya into the floor and sent ice flowing through it. "Rise, Ice Pillars!" I shouted as 15 thick pillars of ice erupted from the ground, acting as a barricade. Unfortunately, the arrows all merged into one and made it through a space that hadn't been filled in time to come straight at me. The only method of response I had was to try to sink it down with Gravity Manipulation. I drew Seiya from the ground with my left hand and attempted to stop the arrow in place with my right. Just stay in place for even two seconds! That's all I need! I managed to stop the arrow for about a solid second, giving me time to summon all seven of the elements I mastered in Seiya's blade to create a powerful eighth element. "Seiya, elemental burst!" I ordered the blade as I released the straining gravity control on the arrow and let it come into contact with the tip of Seiya's blade, where all of that elemental energy gathered up to fortify the blade's strength and hopefully absorb the arrow. With that clash, the arrow had burst in my direction only, to which all of that Holy Energy generated from it hadn't hit me since Seiya's blade was either absorbing it or diverting it upward into the sky. To help absorb and redirect the energy faster, I drew Reie and had done the same thing I did to Seiya in order to help reduce the strain it took. As long as the excess energy doesn't hit anyone around us, everything would be fine. If that energy hits anyone in the crowd, Gods know what kind of effects it could have on them, so this is the best course of action.
"Enshino what are you doing?!" Cens screamed at me, though I could barely make it out with everything going on in front of me. The only reason I could even hear him was that at some point earlier on, Shiro and Arthur's barrier had been broken. I let out a scream of pain as generating all of these elements and trying to divert a source of energy I have no experience with, as well as absorb it, took their toll on me. Now, my uniform had begun to burn up at the chest, so I quickly summoned my Spirit Armor. Damn it! Doing all of this shit at once is taxing, But I just have to bear with it. I've been through a hell of a lot worse than this.
"RIN!!" Shiro and Arthur had yelled out for me. I couldn't say anything but I managed to look over with a smile and nod to tell them I was okay, I am the Devil of Light after all. A few seconds later, every last trace of the Holy Energy had disappeared and I'd stood there, panting with my swords still in hand. Everyone who saw the event had looks of absolute shock, even Dante and the strange girl.
"Excuse me-" I heard a familiar voice say, having pushed through the crowds to get to the very front. When I looked over, It'd been Jaeger. Having seen my face and state, she had the same look of shock like everyone else, but she'd also been... blushing? "Devil... no, Rin?" she managed to get out. I only stood there and gave no response. It's just like the first time I saw her; I'm so lost just looking at her, and I can't snap out of it this time.
"How did you..... what did you even do to my Heaven-Piercing Arrow?" the girl asked, dropping her bow and falling to her knees. She managed to snap me back to reality with those words, but that didn't exactly do the same for Jaeger. I stood up straight and sheathed my weapons as I went over to the girl. Before I even started walking, Dante had been at her side, trying to comfort her.
"Silva, everything will be okay from here on. I will finish this myself," Dante said he stood up and went to face me. Before he could make any motions of attack I dashed towards him and delivered a powerful punch to knock him back with actual pain. The Silva girl looked over to him in worry and back to me with anger, but before she could attack me, I slammed my knee into her stomach and sent her flying.
"Just how dumb and reckless can you morons get?!" I screamed at them as they tried to stand. Before they could fully stand, I made sure to grab them by the collar of their shirts. "Do you have ANY idea how many people could've been hurt or even killed because of this sick and annoying 'Holier than Thou' attitude you have?! I'm honestly questioning if you think you're some sort of good when you put hundreds of lives at risk! If I wasn't a God-Challenger, I guarantee this would've ended with innocent casualties, which would've been on YOUR hands!" I exclaimed at the two, who were angry at first, but quickly realized how awful things could've been. I set them both down and looked over to Cens. "Vice President, I'll take it upon myself to reimburse the academy and have everything that was damaged be repaired and rebuilt immediately," I said as I walked over to Shiro and Arthur.
"Rin Enshino!" Jaeger yelled out as I walked, causing me to turn my attention to her. Before I could say anything, she went up to me and grabbed me by the collar. "What the hell are you even doing here?! And why is it the first thing you do when we all come back is start a fight?!" she yelled at me like an angry mother.
"First off..." I quickly grabbed her arm and flashed her with a small amount of lightning from my other hand to get her to loosen her grip on me. Afterward, I immediately pushed her back and drew Seiya up to her throat. "You shouldn't be so careless. And second, why do you even care? I thought you of all people would've been jealous I got into a fight and you weren't there for it," I finished. Of all people, why is she angry that got into a fight instead of jealous? Every other time I bragged to her about my exploits she'd just get jealous. So why is she so angry about me fighting now if I-
"Shut it!" she yelled as she pushed Seiya's blade aside and slammed her knee into my stomach, throwing me back. "You... ASSHOLE! Why is that how you reply?! You can't go five seconds without pointing your sword at someone can you?!" she screamed at me as I stood back up.
"Next time don't come straight at me with the intent to kill then!" I replied as I stood up and sheathed Seiya for a second time. "Why are you so angry anyway?" I asked as I fixed my hair and had my Spirit Armor fade into the air, revealing my exposed right arm and slightly scorched left, with my chest being slightly dirty but no serious damage taken.
"I'm angry because instead of having a normal day back and hoping to make up for the embarrassment that was that opening ceremony I was hoping to prove my skill and power as Jaeger to everyone and even confess my love to you but since you decided to get into a fight on the first day back like the absolute idiot you are because even though you're so skilled and intelligent, you lack common sense! I wish you could just think like a regular person for once and take the emotions of-" she replied, stopping herself after realizing what she had said.
Wait, did I...did I hear that correctly? I had to have heard that incorrectly. Why would Jaeger, my greatest enemy, EVER say she loves me? No no, I'm just overthinking this. I have to be overthinking this. Right?
"D-did you just say you were going to confess your l-l-love to Rin?" Shiro asked with a look of shock. She and I were definitely thinking about the exact same thing. "T-there's just no way. You're JAEGER, Rin's greatest enemy! I need a minute to process everything that just happened," she said, putting one hand on her face. I don't know which of the two of us is having a harder time right now.
"Well, it's not like I can just hide it now," Jaeger said with her head down as she took a deep breath. I can't but feel like she's about to say something really bad, but if it's what I think it is, this won't well. "I'M IN LOVE WITH RIN ENSHINO, THE DEVIL OF LIGHT! AND I'M NO COWARD! SO HEAR ME, I'M NOT AFRAID TO ADMIT IT!" she yelled as loudly as she could.
"WHAT. THE. FUCK," I said in shock as I stood there, practically frozen in place. All eyes are on us and I could already hear the frantic typing and smashing of holo-keys on students' app windows. What has this psychopath gotten me into now?!?
Before I could speak, I heard everyone around me saying things like how I was blushing. There's no way I was blushing. I don't blush. I can't blush
