Reborn as a plant

"You can't keep your devil body. It's not that I don't want to, but rather, there are some things even I don't understand. While I am able to get you there, I can't get your body there. You'll get another body, but I have no idea what body.", the Exalted Devil said. He felt that Zagred will still agree nonetheless.

Zagred frowned. This was something he wasn't expecting. Indeed, even the Exalted Devil's knowledge has limitations. Thus, after thinking for a while, he asked, "How will my new body be chosen?"

Exalted Devil Ling thought for a while, then said, "Your soul is rejected by the Heavenly Will, thus you'll have to flee. Your puny mortal soul is too weak to flee against the Heavenly Will. I'll help you, you just have to enter a body in that time frame. Your speed will almost rival mine when at my peak."

This shook Zagred to the core. He knew how fast this devil in front of him was, and now he was gaining that speed, albeit for a short period of time? After calming his thoughts, he said, "I'm ready."

With this, the little devil entered the portal.

The Exalted Devil then entered as well, but not with the intention of joining Zagred. Rather, he was doing what he promised Zagred he will do. He is entering the portal so he can keep the Heavenly Will occupied while Zagred is invading a body.

"We're almost in!", the Exalted Devil yellled at Zagred. Now, Zagred was extremely serious as he only had one goal: to invade a body.

Zagred thought about the consequences of him not obtaining a body. While not the smartest, he was still able to understand even though the Exalted Devil didn't tell him, if he fails to hijack a body he will be obliterated or something similar.

Having entered the new universe, Zagred, without even looking back, was running for his life. His speed was enormous. While running, he could see black clouds and thunders coming for his life.

He could hear someone sneering, 'It can't be the Exalted Devil. Is it the Heavenly Will? Is it alive?'

This is something new to Zagred. This means that the Heavenly Will is extremely powerful if it can hold the Exalted Devil back. Or rather, the Exalted Devil is extremely powerful because it can hold the Heavenly Will.

Now, he wondered what happened to the Exalted Devil, but he didn't dare to look back. He could only hope that Exalted Devil Ling escaped with his life.

Of course, just as Zagred thought, Exalted Devil, after holding the Heavenly Will for three minutes, retreated inside the portal.

The Heavenly Will thought that the Exalted Devil was more important than Zagred, thus instead of trying to kill Zagred, it tried to kill the Exalted Devil.

By the time that the Exalted Devil was back in his humble abode, Zagred was already in front of a blue planet that was tens of times larger than Earth. In just a mere second he already landed on a continent. Zagred tried to make a mental map of the planet, or at least the part that he saw.

The little devil entered a body, but he didn't see what body. Is it a human? Is it a beast? Or something else?

'I couldn't even see what body I entered in. In the worst case scenario, I entered a human's body, in the best case scenario, I entered a beast's body.'

While Zagred didn't really care that much about what race his new body is, he cared about the age.

Zagred deducted that he was inside an unborn child's body. It was a weird sensation. He felt a weird sensation as if he was absorbing something.

'Argh... I'm wasting time...'

This was his one and only regret... After seeing the Exalted Devil's fight against the Utmost Entity, his desire to wield such powers was ignited.

He predicts that even if he started cultivating after just having been born, he will face limitations.

His small body will be a troublesome matter. Also, how can he even start cultivating when he had no idea of how to start? The Exalted Devil didn't teach him how to, and he knows that the Exalted Devil had the best interests in mind.

The same thing can be applied to him if he got a beast's body...

'It's better if I stop thinking about these things as they will drag me down. I only need to think about solutions. Yes, solutions!', Zagred is now as determined as ever.

Ten months passed... Yet he's still in the same situation.

Zagred predicted that if he were to stay here for another five months, he will be one hundred percent sure that he wasn't human.

He has no information about the beast race, thus he can only predict that if beasts of the size that he saw while witnessing the fight between the Utmost Entity and the Exalted Devil was tens or even hundreds of meters, or even more, that will mean that the amount that it will take for him to be born will be in the tens of years.

Six months passed...

By this time, Zagred knows he's not a human. But he's not a beast as well...

How does he know it?

Because he's a plant!
