Devil's Luck[Arc 5: Worlds Apart]

Zenkichi Hitoyoshi is a young man, destined to be chained by fate in the early story of canon. He was a man without ambition, drive, will and talent to become something great. Well, that'll soon change. For better, or for worse. .... AN: Alright, let's do this one last time. Here's another Medaka Box fanfic that I hope it'll get to a hundred chapters before I drop it, or not? It depends on life really. And positive comments and reviews, I don't really care much of power stones(tho, that doesn't mean you can't...) but positive feedback on my work really inspires me more to write. Want to check out my pa-treon and be ahead of your fellow WN kin? Well here's the link: pa–treon.com/FroztDouluo *Just get rid of the dash. Edit: I just couldn't find any good art for the cover.... Is this fine? Schedule and the amount of chapters I'd be popping out? Tuesday and Thursday(UTC +8), 2–3 chapters a week(it's usually just 2 chapters because I'm slow at making anime related stories).

Chapter 30: Finding the Fourth Member

Ever had the feeling when something goes your way, God or something in the wide universe starts to fuck you up?

"...What? What do you mean we need to have the club validated by the end of the day?!" Zenkichi asked incredulously. Okay the situation wasn't that bad, slightly exaggerated and all, but still...

He still hadn't had the time to read those magic books he's gotten and learn how to generate mana, create fireballs and whatnot... but that would be instantly solved by the new title he got.

[Man from Another World: You are from another world in the perspective of the people who calls you this title. This title grants you the ability to learn any skills from another world instantaneously and you would sometimes give off a mysterious, aloof aura whenever a otherworlder sees you.]

Dear. God. Was that broken. He was also waiting for Blue Devi Deku and Last Master, aka Iruma and Gudako, to send him other magical tomes.

'I'm becoming a wizard baby!' His excitement was immeasurable, it was every nerd's dream to have magical powers.

...Shit. There was also a possibility that there were witches and wizards here, or worse – returnees, isekai'ed people who returned to earth with some of the cheats they got.

Welp, time for a training montage, again. After his date with Nabeshima though.

Anyways back to the present situation!

"It's what some of the teachers and public morals committee want." Medaka furrowed her brows, feeling equally discontent with the decision of the school staff. "As expected, they didn't like how we, an unofficial club, joined and won yesterday's event."

They were in the student council room, with Medaka on her usual table working several piles of paperwork as usual with her hands finishing them with lightning fast speed. While the others just found places to get themselves comfortable around, Zenkichi and the others were called in due to their club's situation.

"They say the entire thing was rigged and that you guys cheated," Kikaijima added, looking expressionless. "It wasn't though, we've seen you guys earnestly winning the competitions, but seeing how the student council president was part of your unofficial club and won the event – it was bound to set off some people. Whether out of duty or not, nonetheless..."

"Heh. As always, those with power would want to poke around with people." Shiranui snickered, clearly amused by the situation whilst eating a bag of spicy chips. She didn't hide the side glance she sent towards Medaka.

Zenkichi blinked his eyes and turned to her. "Huh? Why are you here, Kikaijima-san? Don't you have swimming practices or something?"

Kikaijima raised her head up from her abacus and pushed up her glasses, somehow making it shine out, and said. "Medaka recruited me yesterday after the event, as the treasurer of the student council."

"And not to worry about my club activities. My club members gave me their full support in joining the student council."

Zenkichi then turned towards Medaka, who merely shrugged, and replied. "What? I needed a new council member and someone to help me handle the school budgets and other finances."

"Aww~ You were recruiting student council members?" Nabeshima pouted, leaning against a table lazily and swinging her head around. "Why weren't we recruited? You could've just offered me a position if you're so badly in need of help, y'know?"

Medaka looked annoyed. "You wouldn't fit any of the positions Nabeshima-senpai, Shiranui wouldn't take her role seriously and would most likely create unnecessary chaos, and Zenkichi...rejected my offer."

"Pfft–"

Both Nabeshima and Shiranui snickered, holding their mouths with their hands to contain themselves.

"She got rejected by her childhood friend."

"So sad~"

Kikaijima sweatdropped as she nervously stared at Medaka, snapping both her pens and veins popping around her forehead. An aura of greatly restrained malic surrounded her.

'Yakushima-senpai, Tanegashima-senpai, Uzaki-chan. Was my choice correct? I'm afraid I'll be caught in a crossfire...' Kikaijima was regretting her decision now.

Zenkichi just sighed in irritation, used to their antics by now.

"Anyway, back to the club. We need to have it validated by the end of the day, with a teacher."

Nabeshima hummed. "Well, I've got the perfect teacher for our club in mind."

"I honestly don't give a damn who it is, as long as they're at least competent with their duties." Zenkichi said, staring at her. It was strange and yet relieving that Nabeshima wasn't acting any different towards him, just after a night of asking him out for a date.

Well, since things were normal between them and he didn't want it weird, he decided to keep being chill about it.

Unbeknownst to him however, Nabeshima was feeling completely different from what she's showing.

'Ahh~ Zenkichi-kun is staring at me! D-Do I look okay? He doesn't think I'm weird for not mentioning our date tomorrow or anything, does he? Kyaaa! Why did I ask him out last night...!' Nabeshima inwardly started panicking, trying hard to keep her face from breaking.

She didn't really mean to ask him out last night! Yes, she did win a bet to have him out for a date but she didn't planned it to be on this weekend!

It only happened because her mother had left a box of liquor filled chocolates on the dining table! Making her drunk texting her friends and acquaintances.

Thankfully she only had texted Zenkichi for a date and not text anyone else with something similar...or worse!

'...What happened them?' Medaka thought, as she noticed their interactions being slightly more awkward than usual. 'I don't like it.' She sharply eyed them, making the dark aura surrounding her stronger.

Everyone felt the pressure, but Zenkichi and Shiranui seemed to be the only ones unaffected.

Shiranui stared at Medaka and the corner of her lips rose.

"Heh. So you can show human emotions after all. Will I finish my mission sooner than expected?" Somehow, the thought didn't make her happy at all. She just ended up glancing at a certain boy...

Zenkichi just shrugged it off and continued the conversation.

"So, who's the teacher you have in mind?" he asked Nabeshima.

"Oh not to worry." Nabeshima turned towards Zenkichi with a smirk, holding her left cheek, "The teacher I'm thinking of is basically perfect for our club of shenanigans and finding people to fight."

"T-That's not what our club does..."

"Then what exactly does our club do?" All three members of Zenkichi's crew asked with blank expressions.

There was a long silence permeating the room.

Zenkichi stared at them for a moment and said. "Alright. Medaka-chan, you get the forms ready. Nabeshima-senpai and Shiranui, both of you get the teacher. While I go get our two last members."

"Don't just try and–!"

And by that, he was outta the room. Heading to find the last two members of his club.

Even though he only needed one to complete his quest.

.....

"Should I buy new clothes for this saturday?" Zenkichi muttered aloud as he walked down the hallway with no destination in mind except waiting for fate, destiny, or divine intervention to do its thing.

He had tried asking Shiranui of any potential members, especially the special ones out there, but she didn't give out any names as she said that she trusted him to find the right, new members of their club.

He let out a sigh. 'Too bad the Kendo Club wasn't disbanded, I could've recruited Moji-senpai and go find any other anime characters in school who's smart, cunning, loyal and skillful at least.'

'I should check that new ability I got for completing that contract quest with Brunhilde.' With that in mind, Zenkichi pulled up his system screen to read the details on his new ability.

[Divine Reflection(Abnormal??)]

–The eyes of the first human male on earth, Adam. As a man designed in the image of God, Adam was gifted with the ability to perfectly replicate any move and technique he lays his eyes upon, including the ones used by divine beings. Regardless of its speed or power, Adam can evade any attack whilst simultaneously countering his attacker with their own move.

Zenkichi tilted his head and whistled, amazed, 'Damn. So it's like Medaka's? But basically a sharingan.'

While he was distracted about his new ability, he suddenly felt something or someone? collided with him. And of course, he didn't even move an inch from the sudden collision but he snapped back to reality.

"Owwww... Just what is your body made of? Metal??" A soft voice whined out.

Zenkichi looked down to see the person, a girl by the looks of her figure, who collided with him and started asking,

"Are you alright?" He said in concern but he immediately froze in shock as he observed the girl's features.

'No. Way.'

As the girl raised her head, revealing the face of...

"S-Sorry about that. I didn't look where I was going, hehe."
