Desave Underground: Thirteen

Shaina sighed when her memory showed another image of her Mom. "Thank you for bringing me here. At least, I can freely show the other side of me. I mean, the weak one." Shaina thanked Jasper sincerely while she's trying to stop herself from crying. They're standing on a mountain. Not literally at the top of the mountain, but just enough to see the city lights and buildings in Albane.

"No worries." Jasper replied. Shaina stood up so, Jasper remained observing and watching her every single move. He didn't move and waited for what will Shaina do next. "Cover your ears. I don't want you to hear my rants or even my sobs." Shaina commanded her. So, he did. But it wasn't enough to not overhear Shaina.

"Mamá, why? Why'd you need to left me so early? I thought.. you were going to wait until I have my very first boyfriend? I thought.. you were still going to wait for me to have my own family, had kids and a caring husband? Where are your promises?" Shaina shouted. It's covered with pain. All nothing but pain. Making Jaspers' heart squeezed. He didn't saw Shaina like this before. He didn't. This was his first time seeing how Shaina breaks down. "I know that I'm rebellious, and I had always make your head ache. I know that this time will happen. But, why so early? It's way earlier than I expected it to be. That's why I ready myself for worst. But, why does is hurts? Why does it still hurt so bad?" She shouted. Her hands was holding hee knee, supporting 'em. She sit on the grass. She cried. She let the world saw how fragile she is. She let Jasper saw how she break down. She let everyone knows that she's griefing. That she's having a break down. That she lost her Mom.

"I know that all I did back then was to use my gadgets. I used to get lazy, yeah? I even shouted at you whenever you were trying to correct mt wrong doings making your blood boils and caused high bloods. I know that it was painful for you to see how rebellious I am despite of how hard you worked just to feed me." She then, covered her eyes using her hands again. She wiped her tears even though it keeps falling down to her cheeks. "But, you know what, Mamá? It hurts so bad that you just gone in a snap. I didn't even get any chance to give all of your efforts back to you, all of tye sacrifices that you've done. I.. I still want to show some efforts to you. You know?!" She shouted. Hoping that her Mom will hear her.

"Ma, this is so frustrating and painful. As in, A LOT. How I wished I can visit you before you die. I wished.. I show my sweet side towards you the last time that I visit the mansion. I have a lots of "How I wished" right now, Má. I regretted everything. If I just pay you a visit yesterday, maybe it'll lessen the guult and regrets that I had feeling. Má, sorry. Sorry for being a dissapointment." Then, Shaina stood up. Jasper walk towards her before offering Shaina a hug, trying to comforting her. Shaina didn't say any words. She just cried on Jaspers' chest. "Shh, stop crying. Tell me if you want to go home. I'll bring you home since it's already late. Skipped your training in Desave even just for a week. I know you need rest, you're also still studying." Jasper said with his soft voice just to convince Shaina to stop crying.

Shaina nodded. "Yea, bring me home." She said before she chuckled. "I almost forgot about my studies, how funny, isn't?" She asked Jasper. "I wasn't like this before. I was emotionally strong, but, who would even think that it was my Mom who can turn the table?" She laughed a bit.

"It seems like you're drunk, even you're not. You're noisy than usual." Jasper chuckled after saying those words. She drived Shaina home. "Thank you for bringing me home. Drive safely, ciao." Shaina thanked him before stepping inside her apartment. She did rent the apartment even though they're living in Desave. Well, it feels different being in her apartment.

When she got to enter the main door, she suddenlt felt tired and drained. "Why did he bring me home? I thought I and Cass are staying in Desave while I'm studying?" She asked herself. Her attention moves to her phone. It beeped. Sign that someone texted her.

From Jasper:

You should rest, maybe one week is enough. Don't stress yourself and don't stay up late at night. You passed tge training since your grades are all great. Good night, sleep well Shai.

Shaina nodded despite of her cheeks, turning into crimson red. It's her first time feeling how other man aside from your family take care of you and worried for her. She shooked her head. She stood up then entered her bathroom to take a quick half bath. "Aish, I almost forgot. I still need ti read newspapers. Dang." She talked to herself. Tomorrow's Monday and she needed to wake up early but, she still need to finish her readings.

She's about to read more when she remebered what Jasper said thru text. Don't stay up late at night. She even heard Jaspers' voice. She pulled her hair out of frustation. "Don't let him comtrol yout decision, Shaina! You don't need ti do what he says!" She talked to herself. A bit irritated. But, ti her realization, she let Jasper control her. She sleep instead if finishing her readings. Now, I'm fucked up.

"Dang! Because of what happened, I needed to rush thing out! Damn it! Just damn it!" she said whilst wearing her shoes. She bring the newspapers to read them while waiting for their Professor.

When their Professor stepped in side their room, Shaina sit straight and hoped a lot that she won't be called in their recit because she only read a few for their advance reading. "Oh, what a lucky person. So, the magic popsicle stick chose Thompson, Shaina Faith." Shaina almost dropped her jaw when she heard her own name.

She stood up even thiugh it's against her will. She stated every idea and topic that is related and connected to what had she read. Well, it's obvious to her Professors' reaction that she is not contented to her recitation. "I guess you didn't read the news and your books, am I right?" the Professor asked Shaina, she nodded. Making her Prof smirk. "I know what happened to your Mother, condolence. But remember, this is a Law school. We, your professors are teaching you how to be emotionally strong, it's not just that, there's a lot of knowledge that we're teaching you so that when you graduated Law school, you're ready to become a Lawyer." There's a bit smile on her Profs' lips, to make her feel comfortable or such.

"I know this may sound rude but, don't put your personal problem inside the Law School. Because that problem might cause your greatest downfall and also failing to achieve your dreams as a Lawyer. If you keep putting your problems inside this School, you won't be able to make this, especially when it's big. So, set it aside." professor adviced. All if them were amazed. They never seen their Professor this approachable and they never think that she is. "Continue, Ms. Thompson." She added.

Shaina felt lighter than usual. Which makes her feel si drained. That's why she said all of the informations and such about her recit great. When she's finish discussing, the bell rang. Sign that their first class ended. "Condolence, Shaina." Her classmates said. She just nodded. Didn't bother smiling or what. Just a plain nod.

"Hey, I brought you lunch. I bet you won't eat, Cassandra said that you were on a diet but who cares? I cooked this for you so you need to eat it." Shaina almost jumoed when someone just appear in front of her out of nowhere. "Why'd you need to go here just to see me? Huh, Jasper?" She asked in a rude manner even though she really appreciated Jaspers' effort.

"Tsk," she tsked. "Okay, let's it these there." She said then pointed a perfect place to eat.
