A simple life or so it seems. It all started when Arthur found out his sister was the council's president. But what if that isn't the only secret she kept from him. What does Haine means by 'saving her' and Lorrainne stating that 'she is suffering'. Is she? "Lumiere. The name that means 'light' yet there is darkness within her. 04— The Role She Had to Play

'Asteria.... Calm down.. No need to panic.'

She told herself hundred of times throughout the day as she refuses to leave her room for two days already. Heck, even her brother, Lorrainne and Xavier are worried sick.

"She's still not going out of her room Lorrainne." Arthur said worriedly to Lorrainne over the phone.

Both are worried about her.

"How about I'll contact Haine this time. Maybe she'll talk to him. Don't pressure her Arthur, let her clear her mind for a while.

She needs time."

"Arthur?" An unknown voice asked the albino twin in confusion. He looked behind him and saw he assumed to be Haine.

"You are?" Arthur asked in confusion as he stared at the man before him who has snow white hair and golden eyes...

His eyes seemingly lost its gleam.

He chuckled and replied. "I'm Haine. Lorrainne asked me to come here. Where's your sister."

"She's in her room. She refused to talk to any of us."

Haine nodded in understanding. He knew this would happen.

He knew it  will happen.

"Well then I'll go met her in her room. Please give her time and space Arthur. She gravely needs it."

Haine walked towards her room but was stopped by Arthur.

"Uhm... Do you know what is going on with her?"

He blinked a few times before answering. "Yes I may have a clue what is going on with her. However, I couldn't tell you."

"Huh?"

"I have no right to tell you. It's a sensitive topic."

With that he left Arthur at the doorstep with a shocked look on his face.

—Asteria's room—

Haine knocked at her door three times before he heard her say "Go away."

"Asteria it's me. Haine."

He heard a shuffling inside before Asteria opened the door avoiding eye contact with him.

"Asteria." Haine said softly as he embraced her in a comforting hug while she didn't said a single word.

"It's fine. Everything is fine." He whispered softly as run his fingers through her long platinum blonde locks.

Her sparkling purple eyes lost its gleam thus it look dull.

"I'm sorry." She said quietly as tears began to fall from her eyes and her knees grew weak.

Haine carried her to her bed and let her be attached to him at the moment. Surely he didn't mind as well.

After all, the same thing happened to him years ago.

He comforted her while she clung to his shirt crying and apologizing at the same time.

"It's not your fault." Haine said in a low voice in an attempt to stop her from crying.

"It is." She yelled at him while letting her tears fall from her eyes. "All of this wouldn't happened if I hadn't made that mistake! Arthur would be living a totally different life than what it is today."

He gave her a sad smile as she continued going on and on about 'How their life would be perfect if that single mistake hadn't been made.'

Or should he say. 'How their life would be different if she didn't make that mistake.'

Unlike Asteria, Haine haven't regretted anything.

If he didn't let his darkness took over him, he wouldn't meet the light that would end it.

If he didn't accepted Asteria in his life, he would be on the same cycle of misery over and over again.

He was thankful for her.

Thankful that he had met her.

"Asteria. Do you really wish for your life to be back to what it really was?"

She wiped her tears and looked at his golden eyes. "Yes. It is what I want all this time."

"Even if it means throwing your life away?"

"Even if it means throwing my life away, Haine. I don't care anymore." She answered immediately.

Haine know one thing is for sure.

Once she is dead set on one thing, she will surely do it.

—Arthur's POV—

'Minerva... What are you hiding?'

Even though Haine said that I should let her be I decided to eavesdrop to their conversation at her room.

Well, earlier Haine really did looked worried about my sister so I couldn't help but be curious about why is she acting like this.

I peeked through the small gap at the door as I could clearly hear my sister's cry.

Though there's nothing I could do about it now.

"Even if it means throwing your life away?" Haine asked.

"Even if it means throwing my life away. Haine I don't care anymore." Asteria answered immediately.

'You don't care about your life? Sis. You promised me. Please, don't do anything stupid.'

I walked to my room silently thinking about what my sister said to Haine earlier.

'She doesn't care about her life?'

"Asteria Minerva please. Arthur is at the right age to know about it. He can definitely understand the situation." Haine persuades her.

"Don't talk about it Haine. I know what I'm doing." Asteria said in an annoyed tone.

"If so then why are you still continuing to hide it?"

"I couldn't bring myself to tell him." Her voice cracked at the end of her statement as her shoulders shake from the emotions that she had been building up.

"I don't have the courage to do so." Asteria said as she sat down in front of her vanity and closed the mirror in front of her.

"I'm sure that he will understand everything Asteria. Just talk to him." said Haine.

She threw the mirror at the floor and it scattered into pieces.

"You really think I could bring myself to tell him!?" She screamed at him as her tears streams down her face.

"What am I suppose to say? 'I'm the one who killed our parents because they tried to kill you.?' That's bullshit!"

"Asteria. Calm down." Haine interjected as he felt a huge amount of mana radiating from her.

"What?!" She screamed as vines surrounds her with thorns and white roses around it. "Don't tell me what to do Haine."

She said coldly as vines continue to swarm around her as it tried to approached him but it never came closer to him.

"Lumiere. Stop this." Haine said darkly as he freezes the vines and crumbles it to pieces.

"No need for us to fight over this. Have it your way then, tell him when its time."

She scoffed, "That's what I've been planning this whole time."

"Now that you're back and better than ever I'll take my leave." Haine said cheerfully.

"By the way." Haine stopped for a moment and stared at her. "Your dream. Is it still the same?"

"Of course." She gave him a small smile. "I wouldn't change it."

"Well then. It's nice seeing you again Asteria. Till we meet in the future."

Asteria watched as he left her room.

"You really don't understand it Haine."

She mutter to herself as she let a vine crawl in her arm and has a few white roses in it.

'Ever since I was born, I knew I am nothing more than his sister.

To others I was a top student and a fairy of high caliber and a mage.

In this world.

I am nothing more than a human being.'

"Never thought that we will meet this way."

Her platinum blonded hair swayed with the wind that entered her room.

"No matter how long this will take.

I'll play the role as your sister.

It is the role I had to play."
