Deoxys: Reborn

[I'm still new to writing, so please cut me some slack! Thanks!] A life born through the enigmatic depths of the universe. A life extinguished by the inequities of the world. A life was reborn in a land foreign to its essence. Shall it remain a passive pebble, swept away by the relentless waves, or shall it rise to become the formidable force shaping the currents? No Map? Lets Make One

Two weeks later...

Ever since Deoxys arrived, life in the village has changed drastically. Now, no one was starving for food and fearing for their safety as they could walk out of their homes with smiles on their faces. Deoxys's faithful contribution to improving their well-being earned everyone's respect...

Morning...

At the border of a clearing, there was a humanoid figure sitting cross-legged on top of one of the thick branches of the trees. Its eyes snapped open, and the being was awakened from its meditative state.

Ever since that day, the figure hadn't ceased its reflection, and the battle that it envisioned was still fresh in its mind.

What could it have done differently? This question lingered constantly, and it imagined if it only was stronger, if it only was faster, and if it only reacted to the situation better, would it have lost?

Whoosh

Suddenly, it flew into the air, bursting through the waves of leaves. As the sun hit its red skin, the being landed in the centre of the clearing where several wooden houses lay freshly built.

Upon noticing the being, the nearby inhabitants smiled warmly and greeted it with familiarity: "Deoxys, good morning."

Burying the earlier melancholic emotions, Deoxys's eyes curved upwards and waved with one of its limbs.

Knowing that it was only weeks earlier that the villagers feared for their lives hiding away in their dirty tents, being able to step out of the sun and greet each other was a massive improvement, and this change amused Deoxys.

Suddenly, countless children surrounded Deoxys with eager gazes: "Deoxys, Deoxys, please play with us!" They begged in unison.

Deoxys's usual serene and dispassionate gaze mellowed as it patted their heads, and the onlookers chuckled. It was a well-known fact that Deoxys was fond of children, and it always treated them favourably. Although not to Deoxys's awareness, the young beastmen would sometimes run to the alien whenever they got scolded by their parents so that they could receive a much lighter punishment.

'The offer is tempting, but I unfortunately have to decline.' Deoxys said, much to the children's disappointment: 'Once I'm free, I will make sure to save time for all of you. That's for you too, Luni.' Deoxys called out to the little girl that was already trying to climb onto its back.

Once freed, Deoxys went to the centre of the village, where the massive tree was deeply rooted in the ground. Approaching one of the branches, Deoxys checked on the three Weedles, who had now successfully evolved into Kukunas.

Adjusting the stiff cocoons that had shifted in the night, Deoxys then examined each Pokemon's health, making sure there weren't mould or cracks on the shell.

Checking these Pokemon's health was something Deoxys personally undertook. Although it trusts the competency of the beastmen, their uses will be better off placed elsewhere.

'They have grown two centimetres more compared to yesterday...' It observed.

Soon, these Kukunas will be able to burst out of the cocoons and transform into Weedle's final evolution, Beedrill. Usually, a single Beedrill won't pose much harm, but when in a group, that's when their power truly shines.

Deoxys plans to summon more Weedles and have these original three be the founders of its colony. That way, Deoxys could secure a fast and formidable force to help the Beastmen survive in this hostile environment.

Moving up the tree branch, Deoxys approached the second group of Pokemon it was raising. Crawling on the tree trunks were several caterpillars with broad leaves around their necks like a hood.

They have a spherical orange head with two small beady eyes. On top of their heads were two knobs that acted as sensory organs, helping them locate food. The creatures would use the pair of tiny fangs to tear it into a small enough size to fit into their mouth.

The caterpillars, Sewaddles, fervently devoured the leaves on the branch, and Deoxys viewed with interest. Thankfully, the tree seemed to regenerate at a fast rate, so having them eat the leaves was acceptable.

The Sewaddles were the second species of Pokemon Deoxys have created. They were much more expensive than Weedles, but their powers were nothing to scoff at. Additionally, Deoxys also wished for Sewadles to evolve into Levanny as fast as possible. Then, in the future, the Pokemon will be able to produce silk and create clothes and other items for the beastmen.

Noticing Deoxys's presence, the Sewaddles stopped eating. Holding out its hand, the little bugs rubbed their heads against Deoxys's fingers. As the alien was relaxing in this peaceful atmosphere, a scream broke the tranquil morning.

"Deoxysssss!" Erika ran towards the tree with tears: "The hammer you gave me broke again!"

Catching the startled Sewaddles that had fallen off the tree, Deoxys flew down where Erika was waiting.

'Again? It's the tenth time....'

"I'm sorry!" Erika whimpered: "I thought I controlled my strength really well...." She stared at the floor, depressed as her tail and ears dropped downwards.

Helpless, Deoxys patted her head while reaching for the broken hammer. After staying in this village, Deoxys learned various things about the beastmen race. As a species, compared to humans, their strength and speed were unparalleled, making them excellent warriors. However, in this particular village, all members were usually malnourished, and these traits didn't appear until now, making it hard for the beastmen to control their power.

However, the cost of this physical prowess also came at a price: the inability to use magic. From what it has learnt, humans and other races were capable of exploiting supernatural forces to influence events such as shooting flames, summoning lightning, guiding wind, raising earth, etc...

Thus, that's also the beastmen's major downfall....

Learning this, Deoxys could only suppress its insatiable curiosity and hope that one day it could study this "magic" itself.

Returning to the task at hand, Deoxys skillfully detached the handle and replaced it with a new one it had made in advance. Unfortunately, with these particular trees, the wood gathered was extremely tough. Although it would be an excellent material, processing this wood was something only Deoxys could do.

'it's too inefficient to keep replacing the tools like this,' Deoxys muttered: 'We will need better resources.'

There's one thing Deoxys know that's superior to wood, metal...

'Erika, does this village have a map?' Deoxys asked.

"A map?" She tilted her head and sighed: "A map is a luxurious item. There's no way we own something like that besides with only trees on all sides, not that a map will be much help."

'Yes, I apologise for my oversight,' Deoxys agreed.

"Is there something on your mind?" Erika questioned while playing with the hammer.

'Yes,' The alien nodded, and a flash of eagerness appeared in its eyes: 'I have a plan.'

The following day, Deoxys left the village. With haste, it flew deep into the forest, leaving a gust of wind in its wake.

'This should be far enough...' Deoxys suddenly stopped and examined its surroundings. To its disappointment, there doesn't seem to be anything that's to its interest, and the Pokemon marked it on a flat wooden board.

Ten minutes later...

'There's a river in this direction. Erika said that this was usually where they gather water...' Deoxys remarked, calmly adding it to its makeshift map: 'There's also clay here. It can be of use in the future.'

*ROAR*

Suddenly, a humongous crocodile monster burst out of the water. It has long, jagged teeth with sails running down its back and pure black scales that allow it to blend in the muddy water perfectly.

The monster lunged, and Deoxys quickly caught the beast with one hand while holding the wooden board with the other.

'Annoying...' Deoxys muttered. Using Psychic, it sent the creature spiralling towards the air.

BOOOOM

Ten seconds later, the monster crashed into the ground, unmoving. Digging into the crocodile's body, Deoxys retrieved the mana stone with satisfaction. However, its mood soon turned heavy as it glanced at the wooden board where there were still many areas undiscovered: 'It may be impossible to finish this in one day...'

A week later...

BOOOM

In the early morning, a blurry figure landed in the beastmen's village, blowing specks of dust and sand in all directions. Instantly, everyone was awoken by the commotion, and they left their homes to find Deoxys standing with its shoulders slumped.

"Deoxys," Erika called out: "Where have you been? You haven't shown up in the village for days... We were worried..."

'My apologies,' Deoxys soothed: 'But I do hope my efforts weren't for naught, please take a look. I have managed to map out our surroundings in a two-hundred-kilometre radius. "

"Really?!" Erika exclaimed in disbelief as she took the wide wooden board filled with countless markings: "To think we really have a map."

'Yes, this would assist us tremendously,' Deoxys explained with a hint of pride at having its effort recognised.

However, as Erika stared at the map longer, she began to frown and rubbed her face, making sure that her eyes weren't playing tricks on her.

"Hey, Deoxys..." She muttered: "There's really nothing around our village, huh..."

Deoxys: '..... Yeah....'

I hope you enjoy it.
