Meeting The Ancestor

[7 days later] [3rd person POV]

It has been almost a week since Jason has been in the awakening mana pod which was still floating in the same place.

"When he wakes up everyone maintain a safe distance. He wouldn't be in control of the powers he is gaining so he might attack you. And Elena only you will be able to calm him down if he is not in the proper mental state" Edna said

"I understand Mother Edna. I will sacrifice my life for Jason if need be. I have already told everyone in the house and outside that you have sent Jason for training so that whatever has happened and will happen will stay under wraps" Elena said and looked at Jason who gave her a reassuring smile.

[Jason's POV]

Damm I don't know how long I have been floating in this unending void. I can't even stand on solid ground here. What is this place? It's definitely not the real world. Suddenly I felt an energy suppression from behind me. I looked back and was suddenly teleported to a deserted land. The ground was red in color and there was a waterfall of lava on one side and a waterfall of black liquid on the other. The black liquid looked terrifying but I don't know why I felt a sense of familiarity towards it.

In front of me were a heap of dried corpses of humans, beasts, and even some horned humanoids. On top of the heap was a throne that was black in color but had green inscriptions on it. On the throne, a man was sitting resting his chin on his hand. I couldn't see his face just his glowing red eyes.

"So it's you eh? Your soul seems unusually powerful that you were able to look into my eyes and still not die. I wanted a successor who could show some potential to handle my power but you are more than capable but too young." The man on the throne said.

"Who are you? and what are you talking about? How am I here?" I asked.

"You ask a lot of questions kid and looks like your family hasn't told you anything. My name is Augustus Miller THE DEMON WARLOCK. I am the one who established the Miller family. That is the answer to your first question "

"You mean the DEMON WARLOCK, one of the 4 evil WARLOCKS from the myths ?"

"You can say that. Hahaha...we four had so much fun in those times. I truly miss those days. Now to answer your second question. I can't tell you everything because the knowledge will be too much for you to handle but all I can say is that we four were childhood friends and became strong wizards but after a time we thought that we were being chained by something that's when we broke through the chains of a wizard and became a Warlock. The title of the 4 evil warlocks was given to us by a race called Chronos. They called us that because all the hostile races that the Chronos sent to destroy earth were slaughtered by the 4 of us." Augustus said with a smirk

"Then how did they kill the 4 of you?" I asked

"They didn't kill us. We got so bored waiting for them to come that we went into an eternal sleep so that we can come back to life in our prime condition when the Chronos themselves attack. So we decided to make our shrines under our own continents."

"Then where are the rest of the three warlocks?"

"You have awakened means they must also awaken. Those three will choose their successors 2 years later. The only reason you awakened earlier is you personally have a strong affinity towards mana. My bloodline just boosted it. I do not know the reason for that but I guess it's because you have a strong soul. The soul is something even we warlocks could never comprehend."

"What do you mean by 'our own continents'?"

"Well, in the past thousands of years the continents have changed a lot geographically so I can't tell you where they are. They could be anywhere. Two years later when they get their inheritance they will be told the same things that I am telling you."

"This is a lot to take in. What do I do now?"

"Nothing for now I will seal your powers so you don't get overwhelmed by it as my powers if not controlled properly could annihilate everything around you. But for the next two years practice your physical strength and 2 years later come to my shrine. I will unseal your magic and give you my essence."

"What should I do if I ever come in contact with other successors? And why all this is even needed?"

"Don't worry if you come in contact with them, you will have to work together. But remember I used to be the youngest of them and the strongest so I expect the same from my successor. In the next decade, the Chronos race is likely to make another move. They will send some lower race to test how strong earth is now. At that time you 4 will need to stop them but you cannot be in the limelight like we did or else the Chronos will become dormant again. We want them to come here themselves so that when we 4 warlocks can wake up from our eternal sleep and help you finish the Chronos once and for all. Your awakening has finished so it's time to seal your magic and wake you up. Your body has already gone through a lot of changes already so I can't seal that."

Augustus pointed towards me and an insignia of a burning skull appeared on my chest. I could feel the mana in my body get sucked towards the insignia. The next thing I know I am in a black egg-shaped shell.

All the explanation is almost over now and the real story will start from the next chapter.

I am also writing an MHA (my hero academia) fanfic named 'Cold-blooded traveler' from the past month and some have told me that it is a bit slow so I won't make the same mistake in this novel.
