Ancient Awakening

Granny made me wear a black bracelet on my arms and legs. They looked light and delicate but they were extremely heavy. I couldn't even move my arms nor lift my feet at first. This method reminded me of the weights Rock lee used to wear but even heavier.

"These are gravity bracelets. They are enchanted items. Each of them is now putting 2 times the normal gravity on you which comes to a total of 8 times. For today your task is to complete 1 round around the entire training room and you can't sit or lay on the ground."

"WHATTTT... granny I can't even move in this thing. How am I supposed to walk? And this room is so big that even normally it would take me 5-7 minutes to run a lap."

"Oh..did I forget to mention that every time you stop for more than 20 seconds it will give you a minor shock?" Edna said winkingly and gave an evil grin.

"Why are you being so hard on me on the 1st day itself? Gra.." I was talking and suddenly I felt a shock through my arms and legs.

"Get going boy or else you will end up in a wheelchair. After you finish the lap meet me in my study. The bracelet will deactivate as soon as you complete the lap. It's synced with the A.I of the room." she said and left the room.

I started to walk but fell to the ground immediately. As soon as my palms touched the ground I received a shock.

"Ahhh...Dammit, now I know why everyone reacted the way they did. This would be hard for even a knight but this old hag is making me an 8-year-old do it" I muttered when I suddenly heard a sound coming from the bracelet.

"I can hear you complimenting me my dear grandson. Should I reward you?"

"No need my sweet granny I will pay you back for this love of yours" I muttered gnashing my teeth.

I slowly stood up and tried to walk but after every step, I used to feel like my body would give up. After half an hour I covered only 1/4 of the total room. In between, I had suffered through a few shocks but due to the pain, I didn't feel much pain.

A total of 1hr and 15 mins had passed and I had covered half the distance. It felt like a victory to me and I fell to the ground again but this time due to the shock I was completely unaffected.

I closed my eyes and tried to look inside my own body. I could feel my own heart beating and a small black ball near my abdomen area. I expected it to look like a solid ball of mana but it was completely different. It looked like outer space...black but had a few dimly shining stars in it. In the center was a red tornado swirling violently. It didn't look like mana but more like blood.

Suddenly the stars that were dim began to turn red and emitted a bright red light. The tornado became more violent and my whole body started paining internally. The red tornado expanded covering the entire core red and black liquid started coming out from it. The black liquid started spreading through my entire body making me feel as if someone had poured liquid hot metal through my veins. I started screaming but the only thing I could hear was my own scream. The black liquid turned everything in my body black in color except the red core.

Black smoke started to rise from the pores of my skin covering me and forming a big round blob surrounding me and I felt like I am in an egg and I fell unconscious.

[3rd person POV]

The door to the training room opened and 3 people walked in.

"I hadn't imagined that this would happen to my son on the first day of his training." Mason said.

"Mason call Elena and tell her to come here with her father Hama. Jason will need his mother more than anything. We do not know how his temperament will be when he wakes up." Edna said

"Right away mom" Mason said and left the room.

"Charles, what do you think of this?" Edna asked.

" I have read ancient scriptures depicting people awakening themselves but have little to no proof to prove it. At that time every continent contained less than 5 wizards and each one of them had unprecedented power. After the awakening ceremony was invented, every other person with even a shred of mana started becoming a wizard." Charles said.

"First I was close to 80% sure that Jason could inherit our ancestor's bloodline. But now I am 110% sure of it" Edna said while 3 people walked in the room behind them.

"And that's the fact that scares me the most " A thin old man with a long white beard said.

"Hama it's good to see you. You should be happy that your grandson has self-awakened and will even inherit the ancestorial bloodline." Charles said.

"Mother Edna how is my Jason" Elena said with teary eyes. Seeing a son in such a state was not something Elena had imagined and she felt completely helpless as self-awakening was not something she could interfere in.

Edna hugged Elena and said "Don't worry Elena he will be fine. But this mana egg or I don't know what to call it is blocking any kind of probe so I can't tell you about his health."

"Mason and Elena you both stay here with him. Charles, Edna let's go talk somewhere else" Hama said and pinched his fingers disappearing with Charles and Edna.

In an office, three people were sitting sipping tea.

"How much time do you think this awakening will take?" Hama asked.

"According to the scriptures, 1 week is the maximum time it will take for the mana to fully become one with his body and soul." Charles said.

"There was a blood tornado in his galaxy core. I believe that's what hastened the awakening. You both know what that means" Edna said looking at their shocked expressions.

"Hahaha...Hama Jason has unlocked his bloodline without the essence stored in the shrine. He is already on the path of becoming the Demon warlock" Charles said.

Hama sighed and said " This means that the essence we have will strengthen his bloodline purity to a great extent. I think we should seal his magic as soon as he wakes up next week"

"Why? I suggest that we give him the essence next week. The earlier he starts training magic the better he will do in his academy." Charles said excitedly.

"Look at you Charles, behaving like a little kid on Christmas eve. I agree with Hama though, his body won't be able to take the toll of so much magic power. I say we let Elena decide as his mother." Edna said to which the other two nodded.
