Chapter 4

The blade slashed downwards towards the executioner's left shoulder before the woman disappeared and reappeared a short distance away.

Her body started to slowly transform in an instant. Black scales filled with heat started to appear all around her body, while her head started to change shape as well. In just a single moment, the woman looked like a flaming alligator demon that came here from the depths of hell.

"Hahaha! You were too late to slay her and now you will pay the price for your ignorance to go against our church!" laughing uncontrollably with an evil and sinister laugh, the leader of the church decided to stay and watch the show. If his executioner could finish this man off, then the ceremony could continue yet again, and he would gain a large amount of power from the citizens of this city.

With a fierce screech, the demon that was created by the potion he gave to her, started to quickly dash towards the field agent, swiping at him in a swift motion. Grabbing onto his body, the demon threw him back outside of the room and crashed on the bottom level of the church's building.

Landing near the altar of the dark church, the field agent saw many ritual tools used for sacrifices as well as many benches that its members would use to pray to their god. Disgust filled this agent's stomach, but he would have no time to continue looking at the scenery around him.

With a fierce and deafening screech, the demon shouted towards this agent as it jumped down towards him to hit him with a barrage of attacks with its claws. Barely dodging its foot stomp, the agent tried to retreat backwards to give him more distance between him and his opponent.

"There is and never will be a place in our world for monstrous abominations such as yourself!" shouting towards the powerful demon that was in front of him, the agent's eyes started to close as he concentrated very hard while changing his sword stance.

"My God, give me the power to slay all that is evil, and allow my blade to smite those who oppose you!" after chanting a prayer, the agent's sword started to glow with light as the whole room started to also begin to brighten.

The demon tried its best to cover its eyes and it shrieked loudly once again while unleashing all the flames that it could. However, it was no use, the flames that hit the burning light caused by this agent's prayer extinguished them immediately.

"May you now rest in peace." Now opening his eyes, this agent now looked like an angel with infinite power as he slowly took one step at a time towards this struggling demon. The demon was unable to even think as it kneeled onto the ground, awaiting its judgement.

Now only at an arm's length in front of the demon, the agent now seemed as if he was now the executioner as he lifted his blade before letting out a silent prayer before chopping the demon's head off. The light within the room started to disperse once again and beads of sweat started to pour off this agent's face.

Wiping the sweat off and putting away his weapon, the agent stood where he was and waited for the leader of this dark church to show himself. The leader seemed confident that the demon would be able to devour this agent, and surely enough, he appeared running into the room, unaware of what just took place.

"That just is not possible. How can just a simple agent easily defeat a demon at that level of power?" pausing his movements, the leader of this now destroyed church fell to his knees, unable to comprehend this man's power.

"Your mistake was that you thought a basic levelled half-demon would be able to take me down. Unfortunately for you, agents like me face such demons as our test to become field agents. I assure you, if it was a trainee, you would've possibly been lucky, but otherwise, you lost since the beginning."

"Will you accept my god's judgement with my blade or would you rather I bring you back to my headquarters for torture and questioning?" the agent asked this man who seemed like a small and now compared to the power he had.

"You should know as well as I do that being a leader of a remote poverty-stricken city such as this, is the lowest level of leadership within our church. You would be unable to receive any new information bringing someone like me back, even if I gave you everything I knew."

Hearing this man's answer, the agent withdrew his sword once again and chopped this leader's head off before exiting the building.
