Enlightenment, that does not have any meaningful consequences. Discovering your “true” self every 20 chapters gets old quite quick. Especially if it’s essentially meaningless in terms of actions as the MC does not at all change after them. The situations and conversations are also very repetitive and wordy for no reason. A lot of potential though for improvement as the concept and world are quite interesting even if not wholly innovative. The women, booze and gambling aspect is fun but again lacking in execution.
after reading till chapter 53 I'm thinking of dropping this novel. why did the author show same thing from three perspective and the story that should not have taken has been elongated till chapter 53 special those extra information on the actions of side character (fight sc and the beast and sc reaction on mc fight with demonic beast)
One of the best cultivation novel I have read. The mc's journey is interesting because he really start from the bottom, each progression made at the cost of a lot of effort. I also liked how this novel explore concepts like Tao, demonic vs right paths... it's the same tropes as all usual but I like how they are explained.
