Demon Hunter! A Fairy Tail Adventure

What would you do if you were given a chance to live again after your death?? Would you take it, and milk it for all its worth? Or would you be content and pass on naturally? This is a story of a young man who got that 'second chance' at life. Join Alex as he try's to make the most out of his second life in the wonderful world of Fairy Tail! Disclaimer: I do not own Fairy tail or any of the characters from the series except my own MC. This is just a fan-fic I'm doing for fun to kill some time. Might have some romance in the story, however there will be no harem and no lemons. So sorry in advance if that's what you're looking for. P.s. I don't own the image or anything related to WOW and will remove it if I am required to do so.

(A/N. Serious time for a second. I've gotten many comments about the last couple chapters being 'Slow' or 'Boring'. Most of them get removed shortly after so I cant reply to them (But it still shows them to me, I just cant interact with it anymore) and I have a question about that. What were you honestly expecting from a book that literally says it's 'Slower paced' and completely lacks an 'Action' tag? I get that the MC being passive is boring, I really do. So those comments I can accept. The fact people complain the book is slow though, just baffles me. Like... No shit! That's kinda the point of that tag.)

Master Makarov cast Fairy Law, he had effectively brought an end to the war, though nobody had died from his spell as his target was Jose's magic instead of his life. After ordering the remaining Phantom members to leave Magnolia and take Jose with them, Makarov gathered his members and headed back to the guild.

When they had stopped to grab Natsu, they found him and Gajeel talking about Dragons while still managing to insult each other. Natsu was drained of Magic power, but was the obvious victor in the fight.

They made it back to the guild and began to asses the damage. Jose's Phantom soldiers had been kept at bay and had been unable to destroy the guildhall, but they had still managed to injure many of the guild members.

Alex went to help Wendy with the wounded as more of a way to be excluded from the dramatic conversation going on between Lucy, her team, the master and many of the better known members of the guild. He wasn't a fan of water-works and there was no shortage within that circle.

It was late when they were done healing the worst injured members and Alex ended up carrying Wendy back to their house. She had over-extended her magic trying to heal everyone and passed out as a result.

His house guests didn't question him when he put Wendy to sleep and went straight to bed himself, without making small talk. They had obviously seen the fighting and knew there was a battle.

None of them had bothered to assist in the fight, they were not members of Fairytail and had no obligation to fight for them. Had the fighting involved the common citizens then Ur most likely would have assisted, but Alex doubted Ultear or Meredy cared.

The next morning Alex was called early to the guild, apparently a group of Rune knights had showed up and needed to get statements from all the members of Fairytail, about the guild battle that had taken place.

Alex complied, even though he was loathed to talk to any more Rune knights. They all seemed to have something shoved where the sun don't shine.

The questioning took the entire day because the knights needed to talk to everyone independently, they even tried to make it seem like Fairytail had started it and seemed to be fishing for 'Confessions' from some of the members.

Alex just rolled his eyes at the attempt during his own 'interrogation' and stared at the knight like he was an insect until the guy got too uncomfortable and swapped with a different knight.

As night was approaching, the knights sent everyone off saying only the master would have to accompany them to Era. He needed to be present during the trial of Phantom.

Alex just headed back home, It had been a long and boring day and he wanted to go relax in his hot tub. Wendy and Carla were going to be staying at the guild a bit longer, so if he was lucky, he would be completely uninterrupted.

Luck wasn't on his side though, his house guest seemed to have been bored all day and decided they would join him in the pools. When he asked why they hadn't just gone swimming earlier, or better yet, went outside. He was met with blank looks from Ultear and Meredy.

"The last thing I want to do is talk with the rune knights, and the city was crawling with them" Ultear had said.

Meredy simply nodded to her words. They weren't currently wanted by the council as Ultear had left peacefully and Meredy was still unknown, but that didn't mean they wanted to have a conversation with the knights. Alex didn't care much but did tell them about what had happened at Urs request.

The night ended like that and breakfast the next morning found Alex deep in thought while slowly sipping his coffee.

"What are you thinking about?" the ever cheerful voice of Wendy pulled him out of his thoughts.

"Just planning on what to do going forward." Alex replied calmly.

"Are you planning to leave soon?" Carla questioned.

"Yes. Though I don't know if I should just set out without a destination or take on another S-class quest." Alex replied simply.

"Can we come with you this time?" Wendy asked, sounding hopeful.

"You would rather come with me than stay and go on your own quests and adventures with the guild? I thought you wanted to make new friends? I'm not exactly a 'people' person, so there wont be much socializing during my journey." Alex said, deflating Wendy's excitement.

"Yeah, I did want to make more friends, but when will you return?" She asked with a sheepish smile, a little torn between going with Alex and going on her own adventure. Alex laughed at her sheepish look and patted her head.

"I don't actually know when I'll be back, as I don't even know where I'll be going yet. I will try my best to be back before a month though." Alex said with a smile.

A month was still a long time for Wendy and while she didn't want him to be gone for that long she knew he was the type of person that could go wandering for much longer than that and still not miss civilization. Limiting himself to a month was already a sacrifice and she knew it was for her sake.

Smiling at that thought, Wendy made him 'pinky promise' that he would be back within a month. Alex laughed at that and spent the next couple hours shopping with Wendy and Carla, just wasting the day together while making sure they would have all they needed at the house for the next month.

He also spoke with his house guests, telling them he would be leaving soon and didn't know when he would be back.

He told them they were still welcome to stay at his house while they were in the city, and found out they had already made plans to leave Magnolia in the coming days. They didn't offer the location they were headed too and Alex didn't ask, they were adults and he honestly didn't care where they went.

He decided to delay his departure by a couple days to see his guests off and give himself a little more time to make plans. He still hadn't decided on an actual destination, but found himself leaning towards the Alvarez Empire more and more each day.

He wasn't going to go fight anyone in particular but given the nature of the empire and its militaristic mindset, he didn't doubt people would try to fight him. If for no other reason than to prove a point or show off.

His days were spent lazing around, drinking in the guild, getting into the odd fight with Natsu and trying to beat Cana in a drinking contest. He still couldn't beat her but was getting way closer each time, {Rabid Regeneration} boosting his Alcohol tolerance each time.

He knew it was only a matter of time before he was able to out drink her and if he wanted to bad enough he could cut that time right down. All he would have to do is get drunk way more often than he does. He wouldn't do that though, getting drunk while he was out exploring wasn't nearly as fun as doing it at the guild.

The master came back from Era and informed the guild that they were in the clear and Phantom was being disbanded. As was the norm at this point, the guild celebrated their victory over Phantom by drinking too much and beating the crap out of each other.

The next day, Alex informed the Master that he was going to be departing the city for the next month. Makarov asked if he was going to be taking a quest and Alex shook his head, saying he was just going to go exploring for a while. The master wished him safe travels and he departed the guild.

He headed back to his house as today was the day Ur said they were going to be leaving. He wanted to see them off like a good host, before packing up to leave the next morning.

He made a nice 'going away' meal for them and even reluctantly let Gray, Lyon and his lackeys join. It seemed Lyon would be going with Ur for a while but Gray would be staying. Alex tuned out their conversations and goodbyes before seeing them off proper.

Cleaning up and kicking the 'extras' out of his house, he laid out on the couch with a tired sigh. He wasn't used to dealing with people for too long and it drained him mentally.

Another 'Boring' and 'Slow' Chapter for you all. >:D

Short chapter, but sticking with sunday tradition there will be another a little later.

Enjoy.
