Demolished Heart

“CALIMESA! ZEKE! MCKENNA!” Staring at their dead bodies, as I fight the hold of a guard; twists and turns as I continue to struggle, to break free, halting. Just behind their dead bodies is Lexa smirking, staring at her as the smirk never slips off. Her eyes challenging me to say something; feeling my anger grow as I snarl at her, thrashing around in the guard's arm once again, trying to get the conniving bitch.

"What do you mean? He is the prince, right?", Ezra asks.

"It's complicated.", I state as I walk towards the training ground.

Having Ezra jogging to keep up has I see Cody talking to Ralph. He notices us and waves; sighing once I was in front of him, raising an eyebrow at me before turning he's attention onto the newcomer. As he dives into a conversation, feeling my body shutting down- pulling out the heavy book, I've recently gotten and open it to see a foreign language.

"What the hell?"

"This isn't my bloody day!"

Throwing my head back, then whimper when I hit the tree a little too hard- rubbing the back of my head and sigh as I realize the time I've spent at the village to be back to square one. Sensing someone coming from behind me, throwing myself over the tree while taking out a small dagger; holding the dagger to their throat.

"Sorry!"

Blinking and dropping my guard a little to see that it's Yuma.

"Sorry about that.", I say as I move back.

"Your fine, I think I spooked you.", she says while smiling at me.

Humming, putting the dagger away, hopping over the tree again as I feel eyes on me so looking up, Ezra looks at me in pure shocked which confused me, which showed on my face.

"Your wings are out."

"Wings?", glancing at my back- "Oh... How didn't I notice?"

["Ruth."]

["Grandmother?"]

["Yes."]

["Do you need something?"]

["Something isn't right."]

["You're not making any sense."]

["Sorry."]

It gets quiet and blinking, seeing a hand waving in front of me, glaring upwards, but they didn't notice, so I grab their hand and pull them down to my height.

"Do it again and you'll end up hurt.", I growl out.

"Yes ma'am."

Blinking in surprised, letting the person go as they run away.

"What in the world is happening to me?"

Running towards the castle, passing by Mr. Archer, Mavie, Lexa, and a few others has I make it to the library. Glancing around the room, groaning when I realized the "library" wasn't a library- just an empty room with empty bookshelves. Turning around when there was a breeze, confused, turning around, while glancing around the room to see no windows but nothing else could have made the breeze. Hone on my senses, hearing soft sounds of water with the sound of wind, following the calm sounds until I get to the back of the room to find no sound. Looking around when a scent of a dragon appears, quickly hiding my scent, and turning invisible just in time to see a passageway open up from the right of me. Holding back a growl as I watch Wyatt walking smugly with the scent of blood. Balling my hands as I feel my claws, start to pieces- slightly freaking out, I release the iron grip and take deep breaths without him noticing. Once I hear the library's doors close and Wyatt's scent not so close; heading towards the passageway to find a way in.

A scent comes out, making me jump back and quickly evacuate the room- as I'm evacuating, sensing another person outside the room, turning invisible as they opened the door. Sneaking passed them as they just feel a breeze. Needing to find another place that has books, I head towards Mrs. Elfling's room to get some paper and envelope; aes I put my hand on the doorknob, it turns from underneath.

"Oh, Ruth. What can I do for you?", Mrs. Elfling says while holding her other hand to her chest.

"Sorry about that. Do you mind if I stole some paper and envelope?", I say before asking.

"Sure, it's in the third draw from the bottom.", she exclaims as she walks out.

Doing as she said, I take everything I need and start writing.

Dear McKenna,

I know this seems odd, but I was wondering if there're any books in your kingdom that show the unfamiliar language since the book I need isn't in my native tongue. The next line is a direct verse from the book:

"ᛏᛩᛚᛋ ᛚᛋ ᚾᚺᛈᛚᛞᚺᛏ ᛞᚲᚢᛚᛋᛩ. ᛏᛩᛞ ᛟᚺᚲᛉ ᛗᚾᛉ ᛏᛟ ᚱᛞᚾᚴ ᛏᛩᛚᛋ ᛚᛋ ᛚᚨ ᛉᛟᚤ ᛈᚾᚺ ᚤᚺᚴᛞᚱᛋᛏᚾᚺᚴ ᛞᚲᚢᛚᛋᛩ. ᛏᛩᛞᚱᛞ ᛚᛋ ᚺᛟ ᛏᚱᚾᚾᛋᛚᚾᛏᛚᛟᚾ ᚨᛟᚱ ᛚᛏ, ᛒᚤᛏ ᛚᚠ ᚾᚺ ᛞᛚᚨ ᛗᚾᛋᚺ'ᛏ ᚱᚾᛚᛋᛞᚴ ᛚᚾ ᛏᛩᛞᛚᚱ ᚾᚾᛏᛚᚢᛞ ᚲᚾᚺᚹᚤᚾᚹᛞ ᛟᚱ ᛚᛋ ᚾ ᛖᛚᚷᛞᚴ ᛈᚱᛞᚾᛏᚤᚱᛞ, ᛏᛩᛞᚾ ᛏᛩᛞᛉ'ᚲᚲ ᛩᚾᚡᛞ ᛏᛟ ᚠᛚᚺᚴ ᛋᛟᛖᛞᛟᚺᛞ ᛗᛩᛟ ᛃᚺᛟᛗᛋ ᚾᚺᚲᛚᛞᚺᛏ ᛞᛚᚢᛚᛋᛩ ᚾᚺᚴ ᛏᛩᛞᚤ ᛩᚾᚢᚴ ᛏᛟ ᛋᚡᛞᚾᛃ ᛚᛏ."

Please get back to me as soon as possible.

Your friend,

Ruth Wolfire.

After finishing the other letters, I rush to the mail area and made it just as the mailer comes in. Handing over the letters, I head to my room. Throwing myself onto my bed as I feel a headache appearing, rolling my eyes, I take off my bag before placing it on the ground and taking a thirty-minute nap.
